Have you made any friends here on the Daily Paul?

I consider all of us here friends. But have you made any real friends? I mean, someone that you've emailed with outside the DP? Or beyond that, spoken with on the telephone, or skyped with? Or even beyond that, met up with in the physical world?

I have often wondered about that. The DP is its own online ecosystem, but I wonder how far that ecosystem extends into the physical world?

If you haven't made any real friends here, you should try it. You can contact other members by clicking on their username, and hitting the "contact" tab (if they have it activated) and sending them a note.

Curious to hear your experiences, if you would like to share.

"one vote loss" thing was part of what inspired us to get in the car and go to New Orleans. We crushed that poll the second time. I'll try to give you a call at some point and see if your number is still the same. (providing you haven't smashed your phone....;)

I'm trying to keep an open mind with Rand. I've been very careful to not get caught up one way or the other. I would probably support him if he ran. What's that old song? "Once burned twice shy?" It's hard to believe that TPTB would ever let him anywhere close to the WH. Who knows where we'll be by then?

I'd have to say so

Every few years I get tapped to run security for one of our larger gatherings. When that happens I put out the call because it's not a job I can do myself and not a crew we have much of a budget for.

Volunteers come from all over the nation for training before the event. We are fed and provided for by other volunteers. These people are pretty much strangers yet we bond together and pretty much give 110%.

After that you trust the people you've worked with in a pretty special way. These are people I not only trust with my life, I trust with YOURS.

Some of us are ex LEO/Mil, etc. but most are pretty much ordinary people coming together to pull off an extraordinary event. The friendships we make are enduring. Again and again I've heard words like "this job has filled a hole in me that I didn't even know existed". And this teaches me a lot about who you are.

Many of you want a liberty lifestyle. You want to live that way all the time. You want to be together, to live and raise children together. As contradictory as it is there's this proto collectivist streak a mile wide.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

My focus, my life purpose is to be a messenger

Same message as any free sovereign human. Liberty, freedom.

Dr. Paul is a good example of the messenger I would like to be. He has his style of delivery that fits who he is.

I have more of a AJ style, I dont like AJ's fog horn style but its who I am.

At the DP I find alot of people searching for information and wanting confirmation on information or sharing information. This is good.

When I get trolled, burned, I block the user, but honestly not here to find freinds.

Good luck

All of the above.

We have had some awesome adventures along the way. Some of us still hit the wing bar every now and then :-)

billyjack1958, are you lurking?

Her last post, from 05/16/2010:

She is one of 3 dailypaulers who have seen my property. We had the pleasure of spending a couple weekends together. One day she called me and told me she was going to "radio silence" and by s#!+ she did. If you're reading this, love ya' Sweetie!
I met E. Oregon for Ron Paul at a rally in 2007 and spent some time with her at the RNC - she is just an awesome lady, although she still owes me a hot spring run... ;)
I met Nystrom at the RNC, briefly. Do you remember?
I made friends with a local activist who turned out to be a DPer, he has become one of my and my husband's dearest friends.
I've chatted on the phone with a few others and emailed back and forth with dozens. Only had one bad experience meeting someone who was, and may still be, a lurker. That was at least partially due to horrific circumstances in my life, but it was an odd situation from the beginning. Still, wish them the best and all, and have to say that the people I have met here are among humanity's best and brightest.
Maybe when we host our first AP / food forest seminar I'll meet some more of you!

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

been here almost 5 years, no friends made here. Of course, I have not really tried...and have never had anyone try to be my friend.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

Well Michael first I want to let you know I got my postcard

so thank you!

I have met people that post on the DP outside of DP but who prefer their anonymity as do I so we never exchanged usernames (and it was readily understood and acepted by all parties).

I consider most DPers to be friendly and liberty does bring people together.

I know I'm a bit bristly to many and have called out trolls from the inception of DP and take issue with a variety of topics but what is most important is that I will listen, as many here have learned is important to the liberty movement, to someone's point of view since most people just want to be heard and that is a sign of respect. First try to walk in someone else's shoes before thinking you understand them.

That is the beginning of friendship; start with respect.

Yes! A friend and business partner!

Tyler helped me get Revolution Car Badges started!

We're friends now and business partners and we talk regularly about the business, new marketing ideas, new projects, politics, and life in general! He owns 10% of RCB.

Which BTW, here's a shameless plug! I'll be on Freedom's Phoenix with Ernest Hancock Tues, Feb 26th from 8a-9a CST, and I'm definitely going to throw a shout out to the DP community...my friends!

The guy from Defense Distributed is also on, and also The Silver Circle people. Here's a DP post I just made about the event: http://www.dailypaul.com/276019/revolution-car-badges-defens...

I'm a serial entrepreneur and liberty activist from Texas!
