TOTAL membership in Nevada LDS??

I suppose somebody can easily get a multiple-sourced and RELIABLE figure?? Then...might there seem to be an "issue" if Mitt's number of Nevada Republican Caucus votes turned out to be more than DOUBLE that membership?? (Especially if the ward-by-ward counts INCLUDE children??)
Having lived in a whole BOATLOAD of different places in Nevada from 1990 through 2003, I can tell you this...I'd be shocked to find out that there are more than 2 or 3 HUNDRED mormons in the ENTIRE state!!

the first settlers in Nevada were Mormons
I don't know a number, but it is huge. I can't explain how to estimate, but the membership is divided into geographical boundaries called wards. There are usually 300-500 families in each ward and in Las Vegas the boundaries are approximately 2-5 square miles, more or less depending on the concentration of members. (The size is an estimate based on my own experience growing up there twenty years ago.) If you consider the size of Las Vegas (the concentration of Mormons in Mesquite is much higher. You will get some idea of the population we are talking about. Like any other group. Some individuals are politically active and some are not. They are not a unified voting block (based on many Mormons I know who keep trying to vote Harry Reid OUT of office.)
I think the results I have seen out of Clark County seem accurate based on the people I know. However, if Ron Paul was the nominee, there is nothing in their support for Romney that would prevent them from voting for Ron Paul as the Republican candidate in November against whomever the Democrats select.
oops!! okay, it was...
89,000 as of 1990....
