Why doesn't Rand ever fully smile?

I know, I know, it's a stupid question but as a former dental assistant I wonder if he is ashamed of his teeth? His smile almost never reaches his eyes. Just sayin . . .

He is a young statesman... not a politician!

'Be yourself',
I told somebody.
But he could not...
'cause he was nobody!

Our culture has a nasty habit

Our culture has a nasty habit of fake smiles. It's as bad as fake laughs. So people not abusing it is actually a bit of a relief to me.

is this the latest conspiracy?

When you're the only intelligent and (mostly) principled member

...of the U.S. Senate, I imagine you have very little to smile about.

I'm surprised he smiles at all.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

It's one of his worst weaknesses

He desperately needs an image consultant. Sheeple love smilin, gladhandin, baby kissin politicians.

Probably because he hates

Probably because he hates everything that happens in todays world.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

"Why doesn't Rand ever fully smile?"

Because he's not his dad?

Joe Biden.

Joe Biden.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

"They" would use the photo

Against him sometime in the future.
"look at that maniacal grin!"

He is in a 10 year contest with Chuck Norris.

PS- no other man has survived even a 10 second contest with Chuck Norris.

Localism is for people who can still sleep at night even though somebody they don't know in a city they have never been is doing things differently. ("Localism, A Philosophy of Government" on Amazon for Kindle or Barnes and Noble ebook websites)

He does fully smile.

Some people are not smilers. Ron Paul doesn't smile constantly, either.

because he is a phony

and does not give a damn about the common man...

let the vote down begin!

Because he has a smidgin of conscience

about selling out his dad's supporters?

Maybe it's just because he's an a$$hole?

It does seem he is taking a stand on the domestic use of drones
and their use against Americans but as a NeoCon he seems to think it is OK to incinerate Pashtuns and A-rabs by remote control.

Global uncertainties abound

..and we are wondering why a Senator is not smiling?

Not much to smile about..

if you put your mind to it.

I remain optimistic though, but I also find it hard to smile in this world we live in.

The exception to this rule is having a little girl who constantly reminds me that those directly in you sphere of influence are the ones who matter most.

I try to change people every day. Do You?

It's true

I don't smile anymore either. I used to be a much happier person. Ignorance is bliss.

I suffer from the same

I suffer from the same disorder. I can only smirk. If I try to "hollywood" smile or whatever you want to call it, it looks really disturbing and forced.

Southern Agrarian

That's nothing. My voice sounds like I'm being sarcastic...

when I'm not. Oh sure. I was born with it. Runs in the family. What, you didn't know that? And the eye-rolling thing? Congenital.

I'm from New Jersey and

I'm from New Jersey and sarcasm is a requirement in order to live there. The problem is when you move to other parts of the country, people don't understand it; they think you are mean.

Those sorts of people need to make a cup of camomile tea, and lighten up.

There goes the sarcasm again. Actually I really like it.

ps: I spoke to Rand for awhile at Cato (sorry, had no idea what I was getting in to) last summer, and I think he has a great smile. :)

i know what you mean

I spent many years in the midwest where people give each other a hard time just because. People in the northwest just don't get it at all. It is interesting how humor is so different in different parts of the country.

He always seems like he has spinach in his teeth.

You're right

It's a stupid question. But to add a little, I would be very concerned if he went about smiling all the time.

We are in another war for our Independence.

Where's the wrinkles?

He gets Botox?
