Every handgun manufacturer

Every handgun manufacturer isn't on that list. That means no one could purchase a handgun if we followed through with that boycott. I am totally with it but I need to get a handgun at some point.

I'm torn

Is this right from the scripted playbook? Are the grabbers hoping to get those very Americans who hate gun control to bankrupt their most expedient supply chain?

I've talked to representatives of Smith & Wesson

over the phone. Pretty sure their account was frozen through Bank of America. When I spoke with the sales representative about a large order I had placed, inquiring about how long it would be, he stated 6-8 months until they're back on track and that it depended on pending court cases they would have to forego, legislation, and an array of other things. I cancelled my order and told him how messed up all this is but that I'd rather not wait and try my luck elsewhere. He shared his frustration very bluntly and openly regarding the anti gun situation. Now, I'm not trying to claim they're innocent, but from the sounds of it, I don't think they're in the position of power they'd like to be to publicly state their opposition to the anti-gun crowd.

Text I posted..

Please pledge not to sell anything to a State or local government agency that can’t be sold to a resident of that state or locality. Please stop conducting business with NY. If not, I will no longer buy SIG products. Thank you.

Sucks...

To be fair, though, Smith & Wesson is at least encouraging everyone to write to their representatives to oppose these laws. I don't see Glock or SIG doing that.

And here I was going to buy an M&P pistol soon. :( My AR-15 is a Smith, too. Good little gun, reliable and accurate. I wish S&W would take a stronger stand.

I posted above with the same defensive stance

on behalf of S&W. I got the M&P 15, 40, and 9. Wanted the 357 but found out you can buy a 357 barrel and interchange it with the 40. So, since the 357 was discontinued, that's probably what i'll do. The feeling I got was that they're getting raped pretty badly and were one of the ones hit the hardest. Time will tell. If I have to quit supporting them, it's a good thing I already got what I wanted from them. Aiming for a Remington R1 Enhanced, 700 SPS tactical platform to build off of, and then finish up with a Ruger 10/22 tactical. Consider a revolver of some sort once my liberty hating state of Illinois finally enacts it's concealed carry licensing. Gotta love Smith though.

I purchased a

700 SPS in 7MM Magnum a couple of years ago. I installed a thumbhole stock I purchased from Stocky's Stocks on it and a 6 X 24 scope. Real tack driver, the gun is better than I am. I'm currently working up loads with a 100 grain bullet with 61 grains of powder, a real fire ball that can really reach out and touch some "thing". I also recently purchased a Ruger mini 14 tactical, haven't had the chance to fire it yet but am anxiously waiting for the snow pack to recede a bit to go out. Ammo for the Ruger proved to be a bit hard to locate. I believe it might be a good investment, with the price and availability of ammo being so tenuous, to get an in line laser bore sighter to set up any weapons we might acquire.

There are no politicians or bankers in foxholes.

Go ahead and boycott Cabelas as well

I just got there flyer for the East Hartford Ct store.

Really pissed me off.

The first page of guns -where I always start off my browsing. Big letters - "The Nations Largest HUNTING Firearms Dealer". Really? Way to play the PC card with that Hunting part.

OK - so I am almost over that until I start looking through the guns. HMM - there seems to be something missing from the selection of long guns on the first two pages(it a two page spread). Semi-automatic guns. Shotguns are all o/u and pump. Rifles are all bolt action. One semi-auto 10/22. Thats it.

Ok - maybe the next page will have some. Nope. Next page has a whopping six pistols - half a page - one being a target 22 and two being some replicas.

Never seen such a crappy flier from them.

I guess Cabela's is falling right in line with the BS as well.
Wonder if they realize that if Gov Malloy gets his way - all semi-auto weapons will be illegal in CT. That includes the Browning Silver shotgun I bought from them last year.

Way to have your customers backs.

I used to go there at least once a week. Guess not anymore.

dont make decisions until you

dont make decisions until you have all the facts. There is a chance that their suppliers are all sold out of semi autos. There would be no reason to put out a flyer for guns you cant get.

I have eyes and I can see

that is fact enough for me. I walk into the store and see hundreds of them on the wall behind the counter.

I have never once seen an advertisement describing "hunting firearms"

Maybe that is something common to other areas of the country - but it is a new term for me. I have heard of hunting rifles - but never hunting firearms.

Seems obvious to me they are changing the narrative to fit the PC crowd.

If they have plenty then you

If they have plenty then you are absolutely right. They are trying to portray an image of selling hunting supplies and play down the fact that they sell defense rifles too.

Exactly my point

They sell TONS of defense rifles.
It is nothing to have to wait in line for an hour just to talk to someone behind the counter. They sell LOADS of weapons -and not just for hunting.

I mostly C&P the wording from the boycott request but I put it here all together for ease of use to others:

Hello _____, (Glock) (SIG Sauer) (S&W)

The NY SAFE act made it illegal For New Yorkers to buy a magazine with more than 7 rounds. All NYPD police guns have more than 7 rounds, but the residents of New York can’t buy them.

I would like you to join the New York Boycott. Please don’t sell any guns to police that wouldn’t be legal for you to sell to the people.

Thank you,

The only thing I boycott is the idea of a boycott.

I no longer boycott anything.

Any reason for this? Maybe we could all get behind your boycott, that will really shake thing up!

Missed me by 2 weeks =\, purchased a Glock 17. I was very close to getting a Beretta 92a1 instead.

I'm with you; I bought a Glock 19 recently, and I'm wishing that I hadn't. My wife owns a Sig.

You made the right choice FWIW

The Glock is the superior firearm, at least in my opinion. This is a good idea though, as much as a Glock fanboy as I am it burns me to no end they haven't yet taken a stand on this.

The sad fact is they may never, a huge portion of Glock sales are government contracts.
