Collateral Murder Revisited: One day, the guys getting killed might be you.

Bradley Manning is going to jail for 20 years not because he did this, but because he exposed this. If you haven't seen the video, please spare the time for Bradley. He's sentenced to 20 years in a cage because of it. Can you spare 17 minutes to find out why?

If you have seen it, please take the time to watch it again in full. I watched it when it came out. Highly disturbing: The idea that somehow I'm doing this, at least enabling it with my taxes is disturbing. Worse yet is that I'm doing nothing towards stopping it. What can one do, aside from throw one's body on the gears of the machine?

He's no chicken. I hope one day I can have that kind of courage.

History chose Bradley Manning. Once upon a time, he was just like us. An anonymous nobody. There's no telling when history might choose you, too.

The video was shocking and disgusting when it premiered. And ultimately, disappointing, because nothing happened. No one was brought to justice. But now, nearly 3 years later, the "justice" is being served on the wrong person, on the wrong side.

On July 6, 2010, Private Bradley Manning, a 22 year old intelligence analyst with the United States Army in Baghdad, was charged with disclosing this video (after allegedly speaking to an unfaithful journalist). The whistleblower behind the Pentagon Papers, Daniel Ellsberg, has called Mr. Manning a 'hero'. He is currently imprisoned in Kuwait. The Apache crew and those behind the cover up depicted in the video have yet to be charged. To assist Private Manning, please see www.bradleymanning.org.

Make no mistake: Bradley Manning is a political prisoner.

Did you not understand the word...

collateral?

I DO hope its you some day that comes home to this carnage on your doorstep. Then, you will understand what collateral means.

Until then, you ARE the great satan supporting death!

"You people", my arse! You disgust any peaceful, God fearing human being. I bet you are proud of that, too.

Stupid? Yeah, you should understand that quite well.

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...
Rockin' the FREE world in Tennessee since 1957!
9/11 Truth.

There's absolutely no other way to phrase it.

If we had the balls Manning has shown we'd be marching en mass to force his release and to take him by force if necessary . What's it going to take to finally light the firestorm that is smoldering beneath this blanket of complacency we have all grown so enamored of?
To quote Pogo "I have met the enemy and it is us." We will let them pick us off one at a time, I was hoping for a better more story book type of ending but if this is allowed to go down there is no doubt in my mind that we have already lost...we are already dead and just don't know it yet. A mass rally in Washington might be a start and if it isn't on the order of King's rally you can forget it having any consequence.

If not us than who?

This line from the original

This line from the original post really gets to me, "...not because he did this, but because he exposed this."

When we're more concerned with exposing a heinous event than the actual event...well it seems not just wrong, but degenerate.

Is it true that no punishments were meted out to the soldiers who did the shooting?

This is what happens when you Crimialize

behavior that is not Right infringing.

The United States Government HAS NO SECRETS. We the People are the Government whether those who we elect recognize it or not. What happened to Transparency? I think we all know that line was a bunch of BS.

Manning did not expose anything that the People of the United States RIGHTFULLY have access to. It's OURS, the Whole thing. The Government HAS NO RIGHTS. Its Just Power comes from the Consent (Permission) of the Governed, so it only has Privileges which may be revoked at any time.

If the Government has Information that is not available to all the Citizens of the United States then I can safely say that that Government is not OURS. It is someone elses. We cannot Consent to something that we are unaware of. When Consent is Assumed, it is not Consent, it is either Coercion or Perversion.

I agree with your passion

I agree with your passion here, but let's not forget that we have granted, even demanded, the government keep some kinds of secrets.

The federal government a social security number for each of us. Should that number identifying each of us be public?

A friend of mine is on Medicaid. Despite that taxpayers are paying for the treatments for her degenerative disease, we've agreed that all taxpayers are not privy to her personal medical records.

We've agreed, through open meetings law legislation, that a government body discussing litigation may do so outside of the public eye during the course of the lawsuit because allowing legal strategizing to be public knowledge would give the other side undue advantage in the courtroom.

We've also decided that the names of our spies shouldn't be a matter of public record nor the names of our undercover cops. If you want to have spies or undercover cops, you really can't make their identities public.

The names of concealed carry permit holders are public in many jurisdictions; withheld from casual public review in others (I think).

Strategic battle plans, likewise are exempt from public disclosure because, if public, they wouldn't be that strategic.

The list goes on. But, I think not too much longer -- in law at least, if not in practice.

There is certainly government data that most of us want held away from public view.

I think we have to be careful to attack illegitimate government secrecy, rather than paint with a broad brush that refuses to acknowledge legitimate secrecy, which the American people have agreed is not only warranted but protects individuals.

No more Secrets

Social Security = Not needed, not Constitutional
Medicaid = the same
Medical Records = None of the Government's business, not the government's information to hide or display.
Litigation = The information is not the Government's, it is the property of the plaintiff/defendant.
Okay, spies maybe, but the fact that we need so many tells me we're engaging the issue in the wrong manner.
Concealed Carry = Gun registration. Not the Government's concern less one has been convicted of using a gun to infringe upon others.
Battles = After they are over, the info is far less sensitive.

Point is: I am an individual, I have my own foreign policy (Commerce with All, Alliance with NONE). My goings on are of no concern to a Just Government, less I infringe upon others. When the Secrets that hurt me far out number the Secrets that supposedly protect me, the line must be reset.

Mommy and Daddy Government are very much like Foster Parents who have assumed this position of Authority over Grown Men and Women. Just because so many have traded Liberty for Sustenance, does not mean we all have to be treated the same.

I do see you point to a degree, but the reason Our Government has so many secrets is because they tell so many Lies. Millions of Secrets = Millions of Lies. They are mostly directed at Us.

Yes, indeed. "Nothing happened."

"The video was shocking and disgusting when it premiered. And ultimately, disappointing, because nothing happened."

I proposed to try go speak out against a state gone a-wild:

http://www.dailypaul.com/274700/martin-luther-king-jr-has-sh...

TO SAY what we have on OUR HEARTS.

CAN we even still dare to do it? ARE we still willing to do anything we can, assembled in unity, to denounce such horrors?

That video of utter shame is only one item on a long list of infamies. Against the People. Against the Constitution. Against justice - those criminal militaries could find a cover up among their hierarchy.

At the time of MLK, they used to be able to do it, TO SPEAK OUT, to claim about the civil rights of minorities in the American society. Denouncing the injustice of ABSURD discrimination.

Here, it's about preserving the honor of the whole American idea.

TO TELL them WE still believe in it. In liberty and justice.

That WE WANT this idea BE BACK.

So, I don't know. Maybe it's too much to ask.

Maybe I'm just an unrealistic idealist.

Maybe we haven't reached our critical mass yet.

Anyway.

We get what we pay for. We lose what we neglect for too long.

Peace.

Bradley Manning must be prayed for.

“It is no coincidence that the century of total war coincided with the century of central banking.”

"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect" - Mark Twain

The video tears at me at the heart

Deaths of civilians, mainly armed for self-defence;
the camera being mistaken for a weapon, perhaps an RPG;
children wounded, their families lost and torn usunder;
the compliments from impressed comrades at point scoring...
and justice cruelly misplaced,
dealt by a demonic gov't on a seeker of truth.

As I watched this video, I became disgusted.
Not only by the Gov't, who lays waste to nations for the cause of greed;
not only by the soldiers, who lost their humanity to commit such deeds;
But at myself for emulating the exact same thing -
playing war games, raining death from on high.
It may have been a game, but sadly, they too thought it was a game -
if only for a split moment.

I believe in the freedom to be what we choose to be.

Orwell Quote begins it

Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.

Well? Is it true? Is that what we're seeing? Murder made respectable?

To be mean is never excusable, but there is some merit in knowing that one is; the most irreparable of vices is to do evil out of stupidity. - C.B.

Yes. Or rather, as your country's traitors wish so.

"Well? Is it true? Is that what we're seeing? Murder made respectable?"

Yes. Or rather, as your country's traitors wish so.

Undeclared wars had started going on as early as with Clinton:

This video is still very tough to watch without getting MAD. As I know it by heart anyway, I usually don't make it till the end.

With 9/11 and the Patriot Act that Congress allowed to pass, it was doomed to get out of hands - to trap, jeopardize the people and their freedoms, to grind them down.

If I were an Historian, that's how I'd put it: Congress has definitely abandoned its function and oath with the Patriot Act.

Patriot Act: the first Pearl Harbor of this 21st century.

Really early this time, and from a domestic enemy.

I dunno. Maybe the globalists are in a hurry or something to grind down America, once and for all, and as quick as possible. Maybe they gave themselves a deadline or something.

Justice!

Thank you Michael for re-posting this video, hard to watch but needed.

Murder will never be respectable, fraud will never turn into a value, it only destroys value. Justice cannot be escaped, and is an immutable law of nature.

Avenging causality cannot be escaped, which explains why the
anti-civilization is currently collapsing, and may destroy us if we don't evolve (As in fully integrated honesty and wide scope accountability).

We can correct this and we must. Will we?

The creation, production and fair exchange of values is the business of evolving consciousness, love and life.--Craig Johnson

This should still be on the 1st page.

It is sad how many news organizations did not even report on this. Even the Dudge Report only had a minor headline up for a day. If you are a whistleblower against corporate America you will be a hero. A whistleblower against innocent people dying and everyone calls you scum. It doesn't make sense.

Goodbye to the days the media would expose Watergate or the Pentagon Papers. If Manning had exposed this when Bush was President I wonder the outcome?
