People ARE waking up, they just don't recognize it yet.

I have no friends (other than family) and for the most part I LIKE it that way. I haven't made a new friend in over 6 years, but I met a woman yesterday that I think I would like to make my friend.

The sound of little birds peeping led me to an area of the store where tubs filled with sawdust and cute little chicks and ducklings were kept. Mesmerised by their cuteness I stayed a moment to watch, and noticed a woman buying several small birds. Anyway, we started chatting, and she told me she had a small 1 acre farm, she's into canning, and gardening.

Our conversation got deeper and deeper as we explored the recent dearth of heirloom seeds and plants, and how just about everything you buy nowadays is either hybridized, or genetically modified, and won't produce true to seed. I pointed out that you can still buy heirloom seeds by internet if you look up survivalist websites. As soon as that word left my lips (survivalist) I tried to take it back, not wanting her to think I was a kook, but she just gave me a look and we moved the conversation on to other things.

Then as I was walking to my car with my purchases we passed each other again, and started talking once more. She has no idea who Ron Paul is, but she talked about printing money out of thin air was causing the price of everything to go up even though the federal govt says otherwise we all know inflation is getting out of control. We agreed that we were more afraid of our own govt, than of terrorists, and that our police force is becoming militarized. She "gets it" but she has no idea that she's repeating what Ron Paul has been saying for years, she doesn't even know who he is.

People ARE waking up, they just don't recognize it.

so lets build it out of permaculture... we need to turn our farmers markets into silver exchanges and get away from using FRN's.

Are you guys going to talk again?? Hard for me to make friends/ meet folks I would like to be friends with too.

Friends

I hope so. I really should get out more and make some friends. It's just that I'm so happy. I have everything I need and everything I want right here. My family, my pretty house, my garden, my pets.... my computer.

This happens almost everyday now with me. MY STORY...

my first semester of law school NOBODY would every talk about this.

my third semester of law school my friend and I dressed as kings of hearts, wore masks, and let off balloons in the atrium with a banner full of hundreds of pamphlets that floated up to the ceiling, must have been a good hundred balloons we almost died carrying in the truck there ;)

People started talking after that about the anti-war balloon guys, nobody mentioned the depth of the pamphlet though... however possibly in side-conversation.

It is my last semester in law school and within the first week random classmates have mentioned Eugenics, Austrian Economics being better than keynesianism, Agenda 21, Ron Paul, libertarianism, IN LAW SCHOOL I SHlT YOU NOT.

The lesson of my story is that if you stay true to your self and follow through with your ideas (NO MATTER THE ABSURDITY) then you can change the discussion in the environment around you....

in fact, sometimes the more shocking the better.... MAKE IT FUNNY, SUCK IT UP, AND WALK THE WALK!!!

A true flower can not blossom without sunlight and a true man can not live without love.

I did a year of law school

It was miserable. A nest of commies. The profs openly bragged about using the legal system to re-distribute wealth ("economics" legal scholar Posner was adulated for advocating this) and engineer society. I was called "narrow minded" when I objected to a court case cited that found a man liable for the support of another mans child because he had a job and the biological father did not. This countries "legal system" has nothing to do with justice, it is a web of chains to enslave us. Don't even think about the monstrous and illegal "administrative law" system that strips our rights and is unaccountable.

I was at the supermarket last week

Not in a wealthy area.

Heard the friend of the produce guy talking about inflation, money from thin air, the debt and deficit. I went to the next aisle and heard them from there too. It must have gone on for a few minutes more after that.

Also heard a vet back from Afghanistan grumbling about a few things. Young guy. He and his friend seemed bothered by the way things are.

Maybe they will learn to speak up, be active and make some good change happen.

Were you at Tractor Supply?

I love chick days there and I always have a REALLY hard time leaving without chicks when they have them... it's like they know I'm a sucker for fluffy little peeps... I currently have about 50 in the brooders.

I ordered my heirloom/gmo free seeds this year from baker creek and I have been very happy with them. They ship super fast and the ones I've started indoors already have had excellent germination rates!

I certainly hope you are right about people waking up... I feel awfully lonely sometimes surrounded by the neocons my state is so full of.

Is that a redneck version of going to

the library to meet girls? :)

Seriously though.. What is that.. I love Tractor Supply but never heard of chick days.

Lol! No...

It's just what they call the time of the year they sell chicks. They have a little pamphlet you can use to special order your chicks with "chick days" on the front, as well. :)

Chicks and Seeds

Hi Angie, I am raising Dark Cornish this year - They are worth checking out. I have a chicken tractor planned, but these are hardy and meaty game chickens that can survive on their own in the wild, should I not be able to take care of them.

I am also planting Chaya and Maringo trees - also worth checking out.

I, too, am into heirloom seeds. This acid free soil in south Texas has me experimenting, by planting a number of different varieties.

Right now, I hardly have time to come to the DP to see what's going on. The neos are beyond my radar right now, since I have little time for the people I do like, here at the DP. The neos and libs will have to play catch up with us.

Keep smiling Dixie girl. You are not alone.

I have actually

Looked into the dark cornish. I think I'm going to add some after we slaughter the ones we don't plan to keep from the 50 we have now (I also already have 18 that are fully grown or almost fully grown). I was thinking about crossing them with my white rocks to breed my own meat chickens.

We have almost 11 acres here that is walking distance to the Coosa river/Lay lake but about 9 of them are completely wooded still and what's not has soil that isn't much more than red clay and rocks so we built a few raised garden. beds to use while composting all of the bedding from our chickens/goats/rabbit to use for next years beds.

I will definitely look into the chaya and maringo trees. Thanks!!

Great post.

Yes it is very true.

I had a conversation with my French housemate last night about too many laws. He is a staunch socialist in his views - this has never been a reason for me not to like someone as long as they respect my right to another opinion.

Anyway we were talking about over regulation by the Australian government ie;

- It is law to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.
- Tobacco is heavily taxed to avoid its use (he is a smoker) instead of using reason.
- Alcohol seems to be moving in the same direction as tobacco.

Despite his being a socialist he was adamant that there were far too many laws and that we need to allow people the freedom to make their own decisions.

These socialists are the ones we can turn to our side and they are coming, slowly....

Anyone who watched and

Anyone who watched and listened to Dr.Carson speak at the White house breakfast prayer know that the look on President Obama's face was priceless.Dr.Carson showed a lot of courage that morning. Those who say The Tea Party is apolitical party are wrong. They are a powerful movement showing America what has transpired in America under Obama and his administration. How just as Karl Marx dreamed, America has adopted most fragments of socialism.Norman Thomas, former editor of the Socialist Party USA magazine, The Nation, declared that America would never knowingly adopt socialism: but, under the name of liberalism,America would adopt every fragment of socialism and not know how it happened. Communist Party USA chief Sam Webb, stated at the Communist Party USA National Convention that with the election of Barack Obama, America was now 'on the road to socialism.' he also declared Barack Obama was a friend of the Communist Party USA.It is no secret that Saul Alinsky is Obama' and Hillary Clinton's mentor and Saul Alinsky's book, RULES for RADICALS has been Obama's play book. While a student at Wellseley College her senior 1969 thesis was on Saul Alinsky in which she praised him for his works. the Tea party can do only so much. More people have to stop watching and listening to any of the 30 major news outlets which have ties to George Soros. Instead, start doing their own research. Start reading some of the many books and publications available.those who have read quotations and letters from our founder know what Ron Paul has been saying for twenty years is true. The excuse i can't afford these books won't fly because many are available for as little $7.00 s&h included at Abebooks.com and books, the Constitution and The Declaration of Independence are free in pdf at Patriot Depot.com G.Edward Griffin," If America is to survive as a free nation, its citizens must become far more politically educated than they are at present."

Bob Marshall

Chilling observation..

'We agreed that we were more afraid of our own govt, than of terrorists,'

Aint that the truth?!

Those in my family and network pay a lot more attention to what the Liberty movement stands for. I recently had a talk with a hardcore Romney supporter. He was shocked when I told him that is was Romney himself to blame for losing the election. Had Romney thrown us a bone.. stuck up for some of the issues that mattered to us, he could have won enough Paul supporters to deliver him a victory.

Thanks for sharing.

Happy news, thanks for sharing

It's nice to be reminded that liberty-leaning women are encountering one another with more frequency.

those are the seeds of liberty.

also, were you at Tractor Supply Company?
ducks and chicks.. tis the season... ;)

I use Blue Wave, but don't expect one of THEIR silly taglines.

Tractor Supply

Yup. That's exactly where we were. Good guess!

It reminds me of this quote:

A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.

Lao Tzu

I know plenty of people who are starting to wake up. They make comments that they wouldn't have even known about had it not been for Ron Paul and the movement he inspired. But they don't know that. They don't know what Ron Paul did for them. I just smile to myself and admire the man even more. But I'll tell you something. WE KNOW. And rest assured my children will know!

Samuel Adams said it best!

It does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

You are afraid.

You are afraid to speak Ron Paul's name.

So, why not mention that other like-minded folks have similar interests and conversations, and invite him/her to the DailyPaul?

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Just 5 years ago

I could find maybe 1 out of 10 people that would actually hold an extended conversation with me about the way things are going in this country and on the planet in general.

Today... easily 9 in 10 are concerned and realize what these "elites" are doing is effecting their own lifestyle very deeply.

I concur.

This is why it's so important

This is why it's so important to keep communicating liberty ideas with everyone and in whatever forum you can find. The more often people hear out-of-the-mainstream ideas, the more mainstream they become.

I love to spend a few minutes each day posting my kooky liberty ideas in the comment sections on MSM websites.

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”

Yep, nearly everyone I meet

Somehow, (because I realize the dire situation and feel compelled to inform) I nearly always tend to bring up the woes of this nation in any conversation, even with strangers.

You are right, most everyone knows something is amiss. Most everyone sees that corruption in government is what ails this country the most.

Maybe if we are lucky, the veil will be lifted and we'll see some of our so called "leaders" behind bars. It can't happen overnight. Brainwashed people are very resistant to their beliefs being changed, but the brainwashers are losing credibility.

You bet! All are welcome, even those who support the wars, because... and this is so important... because we will gently educate them, and lead by example with kind words and warm smiles.
