Maryland Senate Bill Deals Major Blow to 2nd Amendment

Maryland's senate has passed a gun bill that
Requires gun owners to PURCHASE a permit before purchasing a handgun,
Limits magazines to 10 rounds
Requires gun owners to be finger printed
Bans the sale of so called assault weapons

Seeing as I live here I am concerned. This bill is expected to pass the house and be signed into law.

Not good

Now I am very concerned. I don't want to go through this...what the hell is wrong with my state? Since I am a law abiding citizen and gun owner, I have to be finger printed? WTF...

get out of these liberal

get out of these liberal states. Move to where free people live.

I have been working toward it:

But as the poster below said, it's easier said than done.
About to put the house on the market. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks and see what happens. Not sure where I'll be going, but out of MD anyway.

Grab yourself a copy of Joel

Grab yourself a copy of Joel Skousen's book 'Strategic Relocation'. If you're considering anywhere east of the Miss. River, the Cumberland Plateau of middle Tenn, or the East Tenn. area are your best bets.

I'd specifically recommend Tn. counties such as Grainger, Hawkins, Hancock, Union, and Claiborne.

These counties are about 30 mins to an hour out of Knoxville. They are also a short drive into Kentucky, Virginia, and North Carolina. Gatlinburg and other Smokey Mountain Park attractions are also close by (great snow skiing in Uber Gatlinburg). Cherokee and Norris Lakes are in the area, and you have lots of protection from the surrounding Clinch Mountains.

There is a large group of preppers in East Tenn...the East Tennessee Preppers Meetup group.

Kevin Obrien, who was on Doomsday Preppers, started the group...

He moved from Florida to East Tenn. a couple years ago.

If you're going west, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana have some great places to live.

Thanks for the input:

I have been studying the north east corner of TN. for a couple of years.
Thunder valley is my favorite strip and the people I have met and talked to seem great.
I stayed where I am for my son to have his mother, and now she's gone and he is an adult. I believe it's time for me to fly and in my travels, that has been one of the places I enjoyed the most.

not to mention...no income

not to mention...no income taxes in TN. Sales taxes are a little higher, but again...you're just a short drive into 4 states with lower sales taxes.

sucko

honestly my recommendation would probably be to move, Maryland is far too close to DC for my comfort. Granted that's easier said than done.
