Rand Paul: It's not Our Business Where Israelis Build

I'm glad that Rand is taking such a strong stand for non interventionism. It's great that he doen't support interfering in the internal affairs of other nations.

Rand speaking in Israel..

to a delegation of high ranking Israeli officials including Netanyahu:

“We’ve had big battles over deficit and debt, but there’s broad bipartisan support for Israel, and our agenda in this part of the world is the same as your agenda. You’re one of our best friends, and we’re happy to continue that relationship.”

http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?id=29...

Summary:

1) The money to Israel will keep flowing
2) The US and Israel have the SAME AGENDA in that part of the world (mideast and central asia)
3) Rand is happy with the status quo and wants it to continue

Shortly after that meeting Rand voted in the Senate to guarantee $9 billion to Israel...

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

"Unfortunately, Rand, it is."

I would be the first to steam shovel the UN into Hudson Bay. However, as long as we are participants in the UN, we have a responsibility to respect resolutions passed by the UN. UN Security Council Resolution 242, WHICH THE UNITED STATES SIGNED, directed Israel to return to its pre-1967 borders. We invaded Iraq under the "color of law" of a UN resolution and are about to trigger a thermonuclear war enforcing draconian economic sanctions against North Korea and Iran under the "color or law" of the United Nations.

Wouldn't it be kind of expensive

to haul the debris all the way to Canada? Looks like Waskaganish,
Quebec would be about the closest point, say a thousand miles or so?

Could be bad for polar bear habitat?

This really is one of the

This really is one of the most disturbing things I've read. I liken it to the Bully and his parents...the parents raise a child knowing that he goes to school and picks on kids and beats kids up for the their lunch money..all the while we have been sending the bully off every morning with his very own lunch money. Well the bully then grows up decides the he wants the house of the kid he used to bully in school..Going so far as taking a gun to the young mans house and killing him. And we as the parents say..oh well, I am well aware of the fact that I have raised a bully..I had been called to the office many times. I never bothered to punish my child, and continued to support him in any way. And the fact that I bought him a gun just last week for his birthday that was later used to kill that bullied child. Oh hell...it's not my business which house the my son wanted to live in. it's not my business he used the gun that I just bought him for his birthday. It's not my business...TAURUS FECES

"and the truth shall make you free"

It gets even more disturbing.

It gets even more disturbing. Read all of The Grangers responses below. She is the new face of the GOP and an ardent Randite. She is the epitome of the new statist followers that have joined the GOP and why our beloved Republic is gone gone gone.

The BIG difference between Ron and Rand...

is that Ron basically says "Israel, you can do whatever the heck you want wherever the heck you want. Just don't expect us to have your back and save you from the consequences of your actions."

Rand is basically saying "Israel, you can do whatever the heck you want wherever the heck you want. And please know, as an eternal friend, we will always have your back and defend you from any consequences."

Please don't equate Ron and Rand's position on this matter. They are completely different.

Ron Paul has always

Said that we should mind out own business. Some here hate Zionist so much, that they make an exception for Israel.

Oh please, the difference is

Oh please, the difference is we don't give 3 billion to any other nation, nor do we look the other way when the evidence is obvious that Israel was involved with 9/11.

No

We give more money to the countries surrounding Israel. What does 9/11 have to do with it? Ya, the bush admininistration shouldn't have ignored those facts, but tey ignored a lot of things. That doesn't change te fact that we should mind our own business.

No, actually we give way more

No, actually we give way more to Israel.

As a MEGA Rand Paul supporter....

I disagree. As long as they are getting our money, it seems to me that he is pandering instead of actually taking a principalled stance. I have defended Rand as a hero (of course coming second to his Dad whom I NEVER disagree with) of mine and someone I can finally enthusiastically support for president, but I admit, I am losing my fire of passion for Rand with his near amnesty light plan and of course his complete pandering to Israel. I hope and pray that when it comes to Israel, that he is just playing it smart so as to not be cut from the knees down on his way to the WH like his dad. American Jews (not meaning to be antisemetic) have sooooooo much damn power in this country, even though they are only 2% of the population, its really scary and perhaps he is just playing it safe and smart because he realizes he really does have a shot at the WH, but the immigration thing really kills me inside. I am pro immigration if we can get the best and brightest of the world, but bringing in MASSIVE poverty that begets poverty, crime and a mega drain on our welfare social safety nets eats me up inside. Anyway, that's my two cents and I pray Rand is just playing politics and is not a really been infiltrated by the "man", lol...

Ron Paul 2012

If Rand is just pandering to Israel...

with the hopes that he will be "acceptable" as a presidential candidate, then that is a strategy which will surely backfire. The Jews who control the media and the electoral process will never, ever allow a Paul to be president!

Thanks, I agree about Israel.

They can do as they please when they quit mooching off us.

By nature though, immigrants are smart, adventurous, hard workers, brave, and inventive. Imagine picking up and leaving your life, with just the clothes on your back, a tiny amount of money, no car, no plane, and basically hoofing it to a foreign place with a different language. Imagine leaving your family and friends behind and knowing you will not be able to see them for a long time. If some of your ancestors were not this pioneering you would not be here.

As far a poverty, please, being born in the country that prints the world's reserve is pure luck. Americans are not any greater than any other peoples, we are only as wealthy as our dollar is strong. When the dollar loses it's reserve status, we could wake up one day to find it purchases far less than the peso.

I disagree

As long as Israel is getting subsidized and empowered by the USA, it is our business. People all over the world know that and why Dr. Paul is oblivious to that escapes me.

Illegitimate foreign aid doesn't give U.S. legitimate interest

Our stolen money doesn't buy any American a legitimate say-so regarding Mideastern affairs.

Indeed...

...it's not our concern.

You may have a personal opinion about the settlement issue, but then I suggest you donate your own resources to whichever cause you favor. Don't drag us all into it by demanding that the USG do something about it one way or the other. Sadly, I think some people's hatred of Israel runs deeper than their commitment to non-interventionism, and they will criticize Rand, but then they are criticizing him not from a libertarian standpoint, but from an anti-Israel standpoint. Myself, I don't sympathize with either side of that interminable conflict, and I don't particularly care about the outcome. I just want the US out of it.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

"Donate to whichever side you prefer"?

If you donate to the "wrong" side of the Israeli-Palestine issue, you could be indefinitely detained under the NDAA!

Indeed.

.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

As long as

the US gov gives billions to Israel (and to her enemies for that matter) of tax payer dollars, it's absolutely my business! They've built a powder keg in the ME by arming and financing both sides. Once the aid to Israel stops THEN it won't be my business.

You may have a personal opinion about the settlement issue, but then I suggest you donate your own resources to whichever cause you favor.

Absolutely but the foreign and military aid has to stop to both sides at the same time and I would even argue that it has to stop to Israel first, seeing how the US gov's unconditional support for Israel's crimes continues to create massive blowback. But it definitely has to stop for every one at some point...

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, an

Uh huh, so stop giving them aid, as Rand has proposed.

...?

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

He said to start

by Egypt and Pakistan because they "burn our flag". That is absolutely the wrong move, unless you want more blowback of course, which will only reinforce the need to continue funding Israel. That's not a path to disengagement in the region IMO, the only path is to cut everything at once (not likely) or start by Israel (even more unlikely).

Furthermore, I could believe that he can gather enough political support to cut aid to Israel's enemies, in a very optimistic scenario with genius political maneuvering, but then I'm almost completely sure, save a genuine miracle, that the US won't stop financing Israel at that point. I just don't see that chain of events happening.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, an

He wants to cut foreign aid...

...I really don't care where it begins.

As for why he wants to start with Egypt et al, I think the reason is obvious: it's easier politically. He could spend 10 years trying to persuade people of the need to cut Israeli aid, or in the meantime he could start cutting aid elsewhere.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

What do you think really

What do you think really motivates anti Israel sentiment? "Anti-Semitism"? HELL no! It is Israel's policies and thuggish behavior. And it its involvement with the events of 9/11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK6VLFdWJ4I

Settlements ARE our issue, sadly

Unfortunately, right now, illegal settlements are absolutely our business because of the billions in aid we give to Israel every year. Cut off the aid, along with the rest of our Middle East intervention, and then I'll wholeheartedly agree that settlements are none of our business.

For now, however, we're perceived as enabling those settlements--and due to our politicians' never-ending pledges of loyalty to Israel, we're seen us a biased arbiter of Israeli-Palestinian issues. All of which creates hostility toward the United States and inspires people to attack us.

The FBI testified that the Palestinian issue was a motivator of the 9/11 attack, however that all-important insight into the "why" of the attack was purged from the 9/11 Commission Report. Check out their testimony:
http://youtu.be/J1bm2GPoFfg

They aren't settlements. They

They aren't settlements. They are Jewish ONLY colonies. Israel is an apartheid state. No ifs ands or buts about it.

AND Israel did have a hand in 9/11. Those dancing Israelis were not fictional. They were seen celebrating as they just happened to be in the right position to "document" the event. They failed lie detector tests. Several of them were known Mossad agents. One of their vans was packed with explosives, while the other van had traces of explosives. They worked for a Mossad front, Urban Moving Systems. There are so many other details which are overwhelming indications of Israeli involvement.

Please wake up and learn the truth about Israel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK6VLFdWJ4I I challenge anyone to debunk this documentary. Israel was also behind the anthrax scare.

Who benefited the most from 9/11? ISRAEL

I agree with Rand's half

I agree with Rand's half statement. Now all he needs to do is complete it... "Israel has the right to do as it sees fit in its national interest, AND it has the obligation take unilateral responsibility for the results of their actions."

Rand must be told leaving out a variation of part two of that statement is not acceptable here.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

I agree with his statement...

It's just too bad he said it at an Israel bootlicking celebration. Pity.

I'm reaching up and reaching out.
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
Spiral out.

Then why don't you mind his

Then why don't you mind his intervening in the West Bank and Egypt? He has no problem telling the leaders of these regions what they must do. Rand is such a hypocrite on this issue. And as long as Israel gets a penny from us, we DO have the right to oppose Jewish only colonies in illegally occupied territory.

Ron Paul quotes on Israel:

"I am the one candidate who would respect Israel’s sovereignty and not try to dictate to her about how she should deal with her neighbors. I supported Israel’s right to attack the Iraqi nuclear reactor in the 1980s, and I opposed President Obama’s attempt to dictate Israel’s borders this year.

Ron Paul can say that!

He voted against sending money to Israel, Rand did not. Ron voted against the war spending too. Rand is okay with the wars.

That's what happens when you think you can outsmart right vs. wrong.
