I was encouraged by a friend the other day!Submitted by RCS4RP on Sat, 03/02/2013 - 20:57
To give you guys a little history, I have this friend I met from church. I'm 26,he's in his mid 40s, and during the 2012 primary season we would discuss/argue politics. I tried to sway him away from voting for Mitt Romney, but he just saw the two choices that were put in front of him. We would get into some heated debates (all friendly of course) about the drug war, foreign policy, civil liberties etc. The areas we both agreed upon were economics, since he's for the free market...though not the extent that I am, since I'm philosophically an ancap.
Well after the primary season I would pretty much name drop some people he could look up on, i.e. Peter Schiff, Tom Woods and some Ron Paul videos. Well the other night he sent me a text which cracked me up, yet gave me hope for his philosophical change. His text was something to the effect of "Hey Ludwig Von Mises, I've been watching a lot of Ron Paul videos, I can't believe how brilliant he is concerning the economy!" This was definitely encouraging to me, he even name dropped Lew Rockwell!!! So no matter how stubborn people can become, always do your best to educate your friends, families, and acquaintances to the message of Liberty because it's only a matter of time before something clicks"
