Ron Paul's real competitor

0 votes

If you stop & think about it for a moment, this whole primary is highly unusual. The last time, Bush had overwhelming support and there weren't all the splinters of support for different candidates.

Enter Ron Paul. We have seen the "establishment" try to shove Rudy down our throats...just listen to 5 minutes of Hannity or Prager or Levin.

Even though we have told them repeatedly that we hate their candidate for us, they push him. So, some other elites thought about pushing in Fred Thompson to convert those pesky Christians. But, it appeared that he forgot to take his Viagra and left us all just as un-excited.

So, what do they do? They prop up Huckabee and tout all his Christianity to finally convert those Christians to fall into line. He is continually showing well but when interviewed/questioned, he lacks an answer to the question. Full of platitudes, he is is only burning up the tracks with his flip-flops....

Enter, John McCain. After all their attempts, the base was even more splintered and people were moving from one candidate to another...but virtually none have left the Paul camp once they joined.

So now, Huckabee is hanging in there to steal votes through all these primaries only to bow out "gracefully" in the end to a VP position with McCain....

Huckabee is ONLY there to steal votes/interest from Paul. I have met more Christians brainwashed by Huckabee than I could ever imagine...but after listening to expounded position interviews by Paul (Glenn Beck, etc) they convert easily. The Constitution is the conversion tool.

So, we need to realize Huckabee is a pawn to drain our base potential. If not for him, Christians would still be screaming against McCain...like they were in the beginning...but now, they're too busy screaming for Huckabee.

Let's focus on defeating Huckabee as the Christian's option.

What I don't understand is

What I don't understand is why nobody is asking how Huckabee has managed to keep his head above water. He's been flat broke from day one and has barely raised a dime since. And yet he keeps on swimming. Why doesn't this raise alarm bells in the media?

It's like if your neighbor suddenly bought a new Porsche, but you know he is of modest means. Where did he get the money? Did he win the lottery? Did a rich relative die? Is he a drug dealer? What gives?

This is my primary concern regarding Huckabee. It just doesn't add up. But nobody seems to have noticed.

Ron Paul's real competitor

Ron Paul's real competitor is the Jewish Lobby. Supporters have to stop floundering; it's not the CFR. The "Christians" screaming for Huckabee are not Christians. They're Christian Zionists, in other words, they're part of the Jewish Lobby

I agree Huckabee is grabbing folks we should have for Dr. Paul..

I just published my letter in this forum under a topic: "My letter to my fellow Christian who had reservations about Dr. Paul."

It may be helpful or at least give ideas about how to 'sell' the idea of Dr. Paul to evangelicals. Take a look.

God bless,

The RNC "Bushite" machine is behind most of this...

They are still in control of majority of the "positions" within the party.

And they are doing everything they can to push candidates that will continue their insane Warmongering.

When at a GOP event locally, a "Rudy McCain" neo-con supporter chucklingly noted my "Ron Paul 2008" button and asked me: "Will you support the Republican nominee if [ok he actually said 'when' with a snort] ...Ron Paul loses ALL the primaries?"

I told him that was a good question, and that I would give an solidly honest answer *IF* he would answer one tiny question of mine first.

He agreed.

I asked: "If by some strange, unexpected, inexplicable turn of events, Ron Paul should win the nomination..."

He interrupted with the George Stephanopoulos assertion "That's NOT going to happen!"

But I persisted and said "Theoretically then... If Ron Paul, running on a Reagan-esque True-Republican platform, and with George Bush's foreign policy of 2000 of humility, diplomacy, and NON-nation building, were to become the GOP nominee... would YOU, sir, support him and work to get him elected?"

As his head grew noticeably redder, I sank the barb... "...or would you switch your support to another party's candidate -- one who wanted to STAY in Iraq?" and then I paused a second as the blood vessels in his head bulged and throbbed.

...and finished with: "Say, namely, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton?"

Ten seconds later, his head imploded.

(Fortunately there was little mess to clean up -- there were only 3 brain cells that we could find... two that squeeked "September 11th" and a third that said "Terrorism." I was astonished that there was no 4th brain cell, as I thoroughly expected to hear an "Islamofascist" squeek as well. Note: As the hotel staff helped clean the bits up, I handed them each a "Tax Free Tips" flyer, and a fiver each.)

If Ron Paul were to actually WIN the nomination...

I am thoroughly convinced that these Bushite neocon thug types would virtually all bolt the GOP and join the team of their purported erstwhile nemesis, HRC (with whom they actually have the most in common, one of the reasons they so pretend to "hate" her).

I am also convinced that they would do their darndest to sabotage everything they could on their way out the door... YES, they sold their souls and love their "war" more than anything else in the world... more than a bit *insane* if you ask me!

thank you for the best laugh of the night....

that tete-a-tete was so easily visualized.

Absolutely, the good percentage would bolt. The GOP as currently constituted, simply doesn't know what to do with Ron Paul. The party has drifted so far from what it used to be, is so lost, that Ron Paul's ideology is a friggin threat.

I was thinking about this as well...what if he really did get the nomination. How would the party machine promote a guy who wanted out of Iraq against a Democrat who wants to stay....I mean, how perfect it that?

In one move, the Republicans could turn any Democrat into running a pro-Bush campaign. How sweet that would be.

After all, the way the Bushes spend money and grow government, how different from Democrats are they?

Romney's just as bad

This guy will say or do anything to get a vote .He's involved with the CFR ,the NAU ETC...........but I do understand what you mean about Huckabee being pushed down our throats to take people's eye off "the Paul" and especially now with the media saying he's the only one talking about monetary policy . If Ron Paul got half the coverage some of these other candidates do we would be way out ahead ,I can't believe the number of people who still haven't heard of him .What we really need is one of those infomercials like the one Ross Perot ran in the early 90's ,it sure got alot of people talking ........................What do you think ,can we get the campaign to do this ? I sure as hell would help pay for it . All we need is a half hour spot .

I'm a Jesus freak

and I wouldn't dream of voting for the Huckster. I am floored that so many Christians support him. The only answer is that they are not informed. Step up, Ron Paul people! I canvassed outside at 5 below and made hours of phone calls as a precinct leader. It gets easier with every call. This is how we reach people. It is such a good feeling to hear someone say, "Yea, he sounds good. I wasn't going to vote, but if we have that kind of man to vote for, I'll get out there this time."

I'm thinking of writing an open letter to Christians in my city in a letter to the editor. Do you think that would be effective or turn Christians off?

Brilliant article that explains why we love Dr. Paul:

This Bible-thumper is also a Huckabee-pounder

I'm as "fundie" a Christian as you'll find, but I'm also well educated. At the request of a well-known website that strongly supports Dr. Paul, I am now writing a biblical paradigm primer for Christian voters to show why Ron Paul is the only choice for Christians in the 2008 presidential campaign. I hope to finish it soon and if it gets accepted for online publishing I'll certainly post a link here too.

That's great!

We need more people like you. I was so bummed when the GOP machine sent Huckabee to trample all over Ron Paul's turf.

I wrote this article on how the GOP is controlling the election through vote fraud, and there is a whole lot on the Marxist Minister in it. He is in fact the GOP's personal treasure chest. They would have tanked by now without him.

Thanks...

Dr. Paul is a quiet, humble Christian rather than an Elmer Gantry as Huckster is.

yeah, it's shaping up to be a McShame/Huckster ticket

but if that's their plan, there's nothing we can do to force the Huckster to quit. He will chug along getting the 10-20 percent and just ride to the convention. I'm sure sufficient money will be directed to him through PACs to keep the offices open.

I definitely sense alot of behind the scenes sham operations going on.

Discrediting the Huckster would be worthwhile though. If I had plenty of bucks, I'd simply hire a team of private investigators, not saying a thing to the campaign, and dig up some stuff on that sucker. After all, could anybody truly run Arkansas without being swept up in the slime the Clintons were in?

McCain is the problem

Strategically, McCain pulls from the same voters Paul does - independents, moderates, liberals, pro-choice, anti-war(!). If Huckabee exits, his support would go to Thompson or Romney according to exit polls.

I can't agree that "they" have been propping up candidates to deflect interest in Dr. Paul. That's a bit ego-centric to think the Republican party elites have been trying to head off a Ron Paul win since early 2007. Guiliani, Thompson, and Huckabee all had their month(s) of fame because they appealed to some large aspect of the GOP base. Dr. Paul might have had a spell in the limelight as well after November 5th and movement in the NH polls, but I don't think the campaign and candidate were able to transition rapidly enough to capitalize on it.

You are a trolling little worm. Every post you've made over time has been negative towards Ron Paul and suggestive that there is no collusion going on. I have flagged your post and will flag every post you make from this day forward. I have asked Mr. Nystrom to remove you from posting here. Nothing personal, but you are a slimy piece of dirt.

if you don't wish to participate, then move on to another thread. I'm tired of self-appointed nannies on a website devoted to a libertarian candidate.

now I'm not so sure of that...

Paul is proving to have a staying power the GOP isn't going to like. He's a monkeywrench in the smooth operation, a gadfly. To watch the MSM ignore his 2nd place win today was proof of that. It was a concerted effort to ignore it. If Rudy had scored a distant secord somewhere, you would have been hearing about "Rudy coming back" or some crap like that, guaranteed.

The GOP elite or power structure is very concerned that this Paul campaign is tugging against their usual dogma. They don't know how to deal with it, but they want it gone.
