Joke Of The Day: What's Black and White and Red All Over?Submitted by chris cudnoski on Mon, 03/04/2013 - 22:20
What's black and white and red all over?
Phony race wars.
The original punchline to this very old joke was 'a newspaper'. It was invented to poke fun at the fact that, at the time, newspapers had enormous capacity for controlling the masses. Look past the black ink on white paper, the jokewriter asked, and see the socialistic and communistic influence behind the words.
Today, it is more of a sad commentary on how things like race division are always boiled down and simplified to 'black or white', left/right, Puerto Rican vs Dominican, Jew or Gentile, and used to pit person against person, group against group.
When ultimately it is the banks and their red ink, and communists with their red ideas, who are behind any and all division that will sell weapons or at least keep the people fighting amongst themselves and not seeing who their true collective enemy actually is.
Come to think of it, maybe it all is just a big joke, after all.
