Joke Of The Day: What's Black and White and Red All Over?

What's black and white and red all over?

Phony race wars.

_____________________

The original punchline to this very old joke was 'a newspaper'. It was invented to poke fun at the fact that, at the time, newspapers had enormous capacity for controlling the masses. Look past the black ink on white paper, the jokewriter asked, and see the socialistic and communistic influence behind the words.

Today, it is more of a sad commentary on how things like race division are always boiled down and simplified to 'black or white', left/right, Puerto Rican vs Dominican, Jew or Gentile, and used to pit person against person, group against group.

When ultimately it is the banks and their red ink, and communists with their red ideas, who are behind any and all division that will sell weapons or at least keep the people fighting amongst themselves and not seeing who their true collective enemy actually is.

Come to think of it, maybe it all is just a big joke, after all.

Not sure if you were serious there or not, but it seems like you had already set the humor aside by that point.

I was gonna guess:

Q: What Is "THAT"?

Q: What Is "THAT"?

"THAT" is better than God.

"THAT" is worse than the Devil.

The poorest people often have "THAT".

The richest people sometimes need "THAT".

And if you eat "THAT", you die.

...

Answer:

NOTHING is better than God.

NOTHING is worse than the Devil.

The poorest people often have NOTHING.

The richest people sometimes need NOTHING.

And if you eat NOTHING, you die.

"The modern Little Red Riding Hood, reared on singing commercials, has no objection to being eaten by the wolf."

-- Marshall McLuhan

"Likewise, the message of a newscast about a heinous crime may be less about the individual news story itself — the content — and more about the change in public attitude towards crime that the newscast engenders by the fact that such crimes are in effect being brought into the home to watch over dinner.

Hence in Understanding Media, McLuhan describes the "content" of a medium as a juicy piece of meat carried by the burglar to distract the watchdog of the mind. This means that people tend to focus on the obvious, which is the content, to provide us valuable information, but in the process, we largely miss the structural changes in our affairs that are introduced subtly, or over long periods of time."

Do people seriously think

Do people seriously think that COMMUNISM is a threat to this country anymore? How many communists are in this county...seriously. This is a ridiculous notion...this is people who had their prime in the Cold War thinking that what happened then is happening now.

I imagine that fifty years from now, today's generation will be seeing terrorists and Islamophiles everywhere...

Communists are no myth and not funny. At all. Not to me, anyway.

Communists are no myth and not funny. At all. Not to me, anyway.

And the P(OS)OTUS is one of them. Oh, but he sure wears a fancy mask, still, for now. The time hasn't come yet for dropping it.

"Petit a petit, l'oiseau fait son nid..." as they say.

Nobody has to take my word on it. Just to open their eyes and see for themselves what he does.

Thus, if that also helps to see where I'm going, I'd like someone to point out kindly for me the fundamental differences between this:

http://www.federalreserve.gov/bankinforeg/tarpinfo.htm

and that:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gosbank#Foundation

And between all the promising potential of this:

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CRPT-112hrpt479/pdf/CRPT-112hrp...

and the past effectual of that:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheka#Suppression_of_political_...

Because I see none.

I should add I'm not very interested to nitpick in the abstract between what's presumably worth to be called "communism" vs. "socialism".

Not interested AT ALL.

It's just an old french proverb, literally:

It's just an old french proverb, literally:

"Little by little, the bird builds his nest."

It can be used for either a positive or a negative context.

Seems like one of the American sayings you guys happen to use, pretty close to it (non-literal translation) is:

"Slowly, slowly catchy monkey."
