Marines' 'Poster Boy' for Suicide Prevention Kills Self

And in case you are wondering...

"He tried everything," said his best friend Jake Wood, a fellow Marine. "He tried the medication..."

Supporting the Troops

What bugs me most is that the media, fox news especially has turned supporting our troops into blindly supporting war or buying a stupid ribbon to put on your car. Supporting our troops should be about debating when to use them and doing so only when necessary. Questioning the psychological effects of asking young men and women to torture and commit inhumane acts in the prisons of Abu Graib or Gitmo? Or what are the consequences of sending our soldiers to fight unjust wars? What happens when they realize the Medals they have earned, no longer outweigh the guilt of realizing they have been ordered to do things that are inhumane? The suicide toll should be a red flag to all Americans that somethings wrong... and its our job to be informed and try and fix it, not just spend a dollar on a ribbon.

This is heartbreaking....

....and ANGERING at the same time.

Norfolk, VA

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

More US service men have

More US service men have committed suicide than have been killed in both the Iraq wars and in Afghanistan. Many never left the US. Add to that the thousands who either died or got cancer from exposure to depleted uranium dust.Sending these service men and women back there over and over is insane.

Its amazing how people do not research why they are fighting.

Protesting recruiting stations seems like a good way to protest wars:

Theres a lot of recruiting videos on youtube with people who are interested in joining in the comment sections. You could even leave informative comments there!

If they would stop

sending the soldiers on missions falsely labeled as 'protecting American freedom' which instead are missions of soul-wrenching evil, this problem would go away.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Oh that's blasphemy!

Talking about the root of the problem never gets anything solved. At least, not in this Country. ;)

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

How sad!

They all join the service because there aren't many jobs and they think they will be doing something good by serving the country, they go there and find out what is really happening...people dying for nothing...or maybe having to kill for nothing. No wonder these guys have such a rough time. I cannot even imagine the stories they could tell. My heart breaks for most of them.

This happend in 2011

Just FYI

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

And the VA still won't

recommend cannabis for these guys. Pathetic.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

OMFG this would be so

OMFG this would be so awesomly ironic!!!!!!

(hint: etymology of hash)

These words

"The head of the nonprofit that sponsored Hunt's ad agrees. "This was a guy who was doing all the right things, and we lost him," he says. "If it can happen to Clay, then it can happen to anyone.""

People have their doctors, TVs, advertizment pushing for psychotrpic drugs, and then there is the military use.. people needing help are being evaluated for medication, not being addressed as souls.. they try to heal the mind, but it's the soul that is suffering.

Meanwhile the states are trying to figure out how to medicate the loonies with guns... and why the words that began my post are chilling.

Obama's fault

Bush's too.

Oh, I cant wait until we get women in combat

that should really help with these suicides.

More unintended consequences, more broken lives, more money spent breaking the lives, then trying to prop them up with drugs.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
