The Daily Paul Is NOT What It Used To Be; There Is NO Interest In Activism Or Reclaiming Our Republic.

1. Little to no Activism. When I and/or others ask for help [and take the time to create/publish material], it is more than typically ignored. There is much banter, but little Activism and/or Bumps to spread the messages and keep the momentum moving forward.

2. DailyPaul will typically front page articles (news, gossip, fun, etc.) but not material related to Activism and/or Public Events.

3. You scream that Ron Paul was ignored, but when the opportunity arises for you to be heard and make a difference, little/no participation is acted upon.

I am disappointed with many of you who talk a good game, but do little to make a difference :-(

You can disagree or vote me down, but it means nothing, I am stating it as I witness it.

Edit: Here is a perfect start http://www.dailypaul.com/277071/un-small-arms-treaty-peititi...

all right--

I can get beyond blaming government. But are you trying to convince anyone that those in the Pentagon and in Congress and the in White House aren't pushing war in the middle east?

They are, after all, 'governors'.

I realize that they are puppets. If that is what you, too, believe, then we can agree on something. However, even puppets can be evil.

I believe I am an exception to this that you wrote: "--and when a people decide liberty is their enemy and beg for injustice, they get the leaders they deserve."

I am not 'a people'. I never have been. I don't believe I am surrounded by 'dumb' people, but I do believe there are evil people, and I do believe there are deceived people. I try to reach out to as many of them as possible.

I've been studying all of these things since 1977. I've never been on welfare, food stamps, any kind of government medical program. But when *you* speak of justice, what do you say to the full prisons?

Spouse and I were 'foster' parents (not officially) to a fine and always honest young man (no longer so young) who has been imprisoned on a false accusation. We have found out a lot about the current justice system in America lately, and it is not just. We spent a lot of our time mailing letters to his lawyer (who apparently doesn't care), etc.

Justice? No, justice is hard to find in America right now.

Thank you for responding to me. When you called me an anarchist, I became quite wary of you.

I perceive you are trying to get a good message out. But, just take some time to breathe, all right? :)

And . . . please don't shoot (LOL!) everyone whose position appears tenuous to you; some of *us* have different ways of accomplishing the same things. And some of us are really just asking questions.

Your quote from Romans shows that you believe in law. So do I. Justice cannot be denied; I know that as well as anyone who believes in law. I definitely do. I also, however, believe in Jesus Christ and in . . . ultimately mercy.

It's been an interesting discussion, and I will read a bit before responding further. I may not respond at all. I've got wood to bring in and a fire to build up; it's cold in my part of the world.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Sure you are, and so am I.

"I am not 'a people'. I never have been."

Sure you are, and so am I. We elect representation, and contrary to what some Anarchists think, a whole bunch of people keep voting for puppets like Obama and Bush. It's not 'all a giant fraud' and they know it. Believing so frees them from the fact their going to have to win the debate against all the people they call sheep and retards, and they just can't seem to get the job done. (I wonder why?)

You had your chance to win the debate, but most of these Anarchist were too busy calling people retards and sheep to win anything...

You had a long and full life looking for something that was hiding right in front of you. You turned a blind eye while our money was converted into fiat debt notes. You pretended not to understand when JFK was gunned down right in front of the whole country, even after he BEGGED for people's help with what he called:

"For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on 'covet means' to further it's sphere of influence, on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources in the building of a tightly knit highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. It's preparations are concealed, not published. It's mistakes are buried, not headlined. It's dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned. No secret is revealed. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy."

He chose to fight injustice and the money powers, and he died opposing injustice, and even with it all hiding in plain sight, you did nothing. Don't try and tell me you aren't "we the people".

As I've said many times; the only chance you have is to win the debate. The only chance WE have is open people's eyes to the root of injustice and how it operates in our world, but an Anarchist wants to throw in the towel and blame injustice on those who prey on mans covetous nature rather than those who refuse to do anything about it, including speak out and win the debate.

It's too hard and honestly, MOST people profit from what the injustice offers; plunder. They're beholden to the scam, and they know it as well as anybody else. In fact, it would interesting to hear you explain how it is you unjustly profit off fiat debt money. I'd love to hear you try and be honest about it. I do, and I want to put an end to it, and ending it won't make my tomorrow any better, but it will give future generations a chance. That's enough for me.

I've tried to do more than "investigate". I've tried to steer the debate towards what matters, and to great effect. It's getting VERY hard for these crooks to pretend they represent "the people", because there really are fewer and fewer people they represent.

"But when *you* speak of justice, what do you say to the full prisons?"

I don't feel this government is capable of serving justice, because when liberty is your enemy, and liberty IS this corrupt governments enemy, what you serve isn't justice. If injustice is what the people want, injustice is what they're going to get. The only justice mankind is capable of serving is to defend liberty.

Is it defending liberty to put drug offenders in prison? No. Is it defending liberty to put murderers, rapists, and frauds in prison; yes.

What are the prisons filled with; murderers, rapists and frauds, or drug offenders? I have no problem filling up prisons, just as long as when we do, we're serving justice. We could do a lot more, and a lot worse than take a persons liberty, and it would still be justice, and it wouldn't be at all cruel or unusual.

"Justice? No, justice is hard to find in America right now."

I couldn't agree more, but it has nothing to do with government or or the peoples corrupt leaders. With or without them, we would still have collective force serving injustice and a whole bunch of people begging some corrupt leader for plunder, slaves, and dominion. The world is filled with injustice, and justly so. There's a reason God decides a butcher and slaver should lead people, because that's what they deserve. Justice will be served.

The butcher isn't a danger to what's good and right. He's a danger to those who wanted him. Why am I not in prison? Why do I not worry that my phone is tapped? Why am I not worried about drones? Why am I not scared?

Psalms 23

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death; I will fear no evil: for thou
art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies: thou anointest
my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life; and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever."

You are, then, a collectivizer--

a person who claims that each person is the group?

I wasn't, yet, voting age when JFK died.

I think you are an idealist, a theorist.

I appreciate idealists, and I used to be one. I'm old and tired, and I've given up. But I am not my group. I refuse to accept your definitions. The people in *my* group (whatever group that is) live very differently from me.

I guess that because we can't agree on definitions we won't be able to agree.

I do believe in individual agency or in what some might call 'free' will--

it may not always seem free, but if I can keep my own thoughts and make my own choices, even if I have a narrow space in which to do it, then I am free.

If that is a threat to you, I am sorry. But I refuse to live as a collective. I realize that I am a certain age; I realize that the world/society around me has a HUGE impact on my life--

but I am not the group. I don't accept that.

From a Christian perspective I don't accept that. God looks into the individual heart; do you think He seems *us* all as a group or as individuals?

Righteous people have always made a difference; those who make choices different from the group have always been beloved of God.

maybe we are saying the same thing, but I don't think so. Your comments on another thread about 'cancer' and the 'cancer' needing to be removed--

in my case I wouldn't have a cancer removed if I knew I had one--

I would make the rest of my body stronger to push out the cancer. That is how I am trying to live, and I refuse to accept blame for what happened to JFK or for what is happening in the world now.

Because, FreedomsReigning, I ask myself every day, "if every person in the world acted today as *I* am acting today, what kind of a world would it be?"

I keep the Ten Commandments, and every day I go over the commands Jesus gave--

first, love the Lord thy God--

second, thy neighbor as thyself--

every day--

and I keep the line open to Him.

Because of that . . . I am not responsible for the banker bailouts (and, yes, I made my views known on that to my representatives), for the wars in the middle east--

I do everything I can to feed the homeless in my community; I do everything I can to alleviate suffering wherever I find it, even if I don't have very much myself.

That's all I can do. I refuse to accept blame for what others are doing. If I accepted blame for all the things you want me to accept blame for . . . I would die from sheer despair. And, yes, I know I am a flawed human. Every day I ask for God to forgive me for my humanity and for my many weaknesses.

But that mentality, that attitude of "we got ourselves here" is wrong-headed, and I won't accept it.

My great grandparents may or may not have been aware of what the Federal Reserve was all about when it came into existence during their lives (my grandparents were also all alive at that point, some of them adults)--

but they lived good lives, and if everyone had lived as they were living--

we wouldn't be in the mess *we* are in today.

Since we can't agree that collectivizing is part of the problem, I guess we won't agree.

Oh, since you believe in the bible, do you blame Isaiah and Jeremiah for what 'the people' did? They didn't agree with the people, and they lived their own lives circumspectly; do you blame them, since they were there in those crooked times?

There have always been those who have tried to live separately, who have refused to participate in the decadence of their times--

I cannot change my neighbor. I cannot force my fellow Americans to see the truth--

so that makes me part of the problem?

I don't believe in force; I don't believe in violence, so I guess there is nothing more I can say.

I wish you the best in your journey.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Second that

You are correct.

That's not a bad idea,

That's not a bad idea, breaking up the states. I'd support a national army, but for everything else the states should be sovereign. That would immediately solve our police-state/authoritarianism problem. Of course it just might be one of those things that sound good in theory but won't work in reality.

And no I'm not an anarchist but I am definitely for decentralizing government. Your quote made me think, thanks for sharing.

The fight goes on...

Some liberty minded activists have embraced the take over of the GOP, but reporting it on the Daily Paul has been something of a damp towel, like this post of mine from several days ago:

Still we press on, as we must. The fight for restoring Liberty to the GOP continues....

There are few of the purple

There are few of the purple comments these days, instead seeing a barrage of beige, blue and teal type colors.

The people you are referring would all have purple comments. Unfortunately, most of the advocates and activists have all moved on.

Yes, because one's length of membership

on a single website is a great way to gauge how much of an "activist" one is. Logical!

Believe it or not, there exists a world beyond the DailyPaul.

A signature used to be here!

This is an intellectual

This is an intellectual revolution. There is very little we can do to change this corrupt system. The only thing that we can do is to educate ourselves and inform the sleeping masses and the Daily Paul is one of the learning and sharing tools that we use.
Once we have the numbers(of awake people) the system will implode on it's own.

I agree--

support other liberty-minded people, try to keep those who want to 'eradicate' those they see as cancers (whether they are a different color or a different religion or just have different ideas; why is one kind of violence better than another? I'm not talking about defense; I am talking about offense; it is never justifiable)--

from doing it--

I am beginning to see division and tribalism. Some good friends of ours came to visit us the other night; they might be beginning to wake up, but they still see other races as a threat (YIKES!; I thought they were more . . . open-minded), and, honestly, I am afraid of the whole 'mob' concept, the whole scapegoating concept, the whole 'lynch 'em up, and we'll feel better' mentality--

There ARE evil people, but most of the time *we* spend our energy shouting at the innocent people--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Tend to agree.

We cannot do much to change the system but we can educate people by doing the research and being well informed ourselves. If I can do nothing else perhaps I can present ideas and help others to see the larger picture. And that is what I try to do here, as you also are doing.

As an "intellectual"

you could do better than that. If this system implodes, "awakened" people would not bring liberty by default. Ask yourself - awakened to what? That private bankers can own gold and Chinese & Mexicans can walk in with no government and open borders?

Liberty does not come from god or nature. Sorry, RP. It comes from reason. Unreasonable people, if they are the majority, cannot maintain free society no matter what religious or humanistic morality they adapt.

True, very true.

True, very true. It also needs to be said, that freedom is not the greatest ideal. Any system that bases itself in freedom will fall into the worst of tyranny, and that is what has happened in the US.

Awakened people will not buy

Awakened people will not buy corporate products.Awakened people will not save or buy in fiat.Awakened people will avoid paying taxes that feed the beast. That alone will destroy this corrupt system since the federal reserve and IRS are the heart of all our problems. We don't have enough awakened people yet.

Going there

is easier than maintaining since young generations rebel against parents. The fall of USA Constitutional Republic came not from the FED, but from people themselves. Intellectuals, on average, are not interested in free-market capitalism. Physicists or astronomers like NASA, biologists like government research grants, professors like tenure, teachers like government trade unions.

With 55 millions of new Mexicans coming (11m + future 11m spouses + 33m kids), no constitutional laws can chain the majority down for long.

I think we are all interested in the free market,

regardless of career. I research everything before buying even food. I think being educated and informed creates the free market. GMOs will die a natural death in time because no one will buy them. You cannot force people to eat poison.

Education is most important in my thinking. It gives people intelligent choices. I think Ron Paul was all about educating others a s well, and what a following he had/has. Mexicans will also learn to make wise choices in the market.

Because many folks here misunderstood RP policies.

Our folks somehow trusted neo-cons, AIPAC and the media. When the latter attacked Ron Paul for not supporting Israel, our folks assumed that Ron Paul and Libertarian policies will in fact make Israel weaker. Veterans with stress syndrome, Blue Republicans, and populists of all kind poured in as new "Libertarians." Some even cried in humility and hope on tape.

Gradually they realized that neo-cons and AIPAC do not serve the interests of Israel. The US aid only promotes local socialism there and makes Israel weak and dependable. On the other hand, Rand Paul, Cruz, Lee and others openly support the right of Israel to exist with defensible borders. That was a watershed. Today, our "Libertarians" would rather elect Hagel as president than Rand Paul. Free-market capitalism interest them the least.

Liberty cannot die. It comes from human reason. Flag of liberty is simply relocating to Tea Party, Glenn Beck's audience and others.

Do we live on the same planet?

"Our folks somehow trusted neo-cons, AIPAC and the media." -- Since when? Who is it in that .001% you claim to be 'our folks'? I can't even think of a single example and I've been here since '07.

"When the latter attacked Ron Paul for not supporting Israel, our folks assumed that Ron Paul and Libertarian policies will in fact make Israel weaker." -- Ummm....No. Actually, I call BS! It was the opposite in fact. That was Ron Paul's whole point, making them beholded to us weakens them, not the other way around. Did you just get here today or something? Did you miss, oh, I don't know, every single debate?

"Today, our "Libertarians" would rather elect Hagel as president than Rand Paul." -- Again, with no example. And, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with that sentiment. At least Hagel has the guts to say something contrarian once in a while - Rand just goes over and French kisses the commander of their concentration camp and passionately licks the wailing wall.

"Flag of liberty is simply relocating to Tea Party, Glenn Beck's audience" --- Wow, I literally gagged on vomit reading that. I have to ask again - is it your first day in the Liberty Movement? Did you not read the many deconstructions of Beck's latest "libertarian reach-around" session demonstrating his utter misunderstanding at best, and deliberate subversion at worst, of libertarianism? The Tea Party is dead. Beck is, as he always has been, a CIA Psyop expert with good acting skills.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

and Liberty-First brings up . . .

Israel, when *nobody* was talking about Israel.

I cannot understand your words. I understand the words of most of the people on here; yours don't make sense to me.

I guess that will happen sometimes.

"Our folks"?

I am not *your* 'folk'. I have been called an 'anti-Semite' by you for criticizing AIPAC (along with many Jews), and now you criticize AIPAC in the middle of a discussion about the states breaking up. That has nothing to do with Israel. There may be things that have to do with Israel, but that does not.

*shaking my head in confusion*

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Of course it is not was it used to be

we dont have a rallying point and purpose. That will soon change. The mid term elections will start up and people will start focusing again.
I am not an activist - plain and simple. I have very little tolerance for politicians and do not have the termperment to get up and speak to these people.
Does that mean I do nothing. No. I use every chance I get to spread Ron Pauls name and his ideas.
You also have to realize - some of us live in places where -sorry to say - it is not going to matter.
As you can tell from my name - I live in CT. Whoever the dems pick is who is getting elected here - plain and simple. All the activism in the world isn't changing that. When a billionaire business woman gets crushed by an assclown who has accomplished zero in life, shows up for a debate in a suit that looks like he just pulled it out of his older brothers closet(off the floor at that)and basically is a tool - what good do you think will come from activism?

Do nothing? Just because it is not what you do - doesn't make it nothing.

Also consider that the number of complaining posts is at an all time high as well - which isn't accomplishing much either.

what have u done to advance

what have u done to advance the cause? what good is complaining that other people aren't doing anything? if u have an idea about something do it. don't wait for everyone else to do everything.

"We’ve moved beyond the Mises textbook. We’re running in the open market." - Erik Voorhees

You make some really good points..

and I am one of the ones sitting on my hands. I have been crazy busy with graduate school and running my business. I am pathetic, but alas need to start my life off on a good foot and just don't have the time, money, and resources to spread the word other than the occasional calling out Hannity or some other propagandist online. I also try to gently guide people to some Ron Paul speeches as there is still a ton of misinformation out there. I know it's not enough, but its what I got at the moment.

Thanks Michael!

I have lurked on this site

I have lurked on this site for a long time before joining and what I have noticed is that during the 2012 election everyone had a common goal to strive toward. It was easier to motivate people and get excited about developments in the campaign. With that over, the fight has been shifted to smaller more localized battles and incidents in which it is harder to get people to really commit resources to.

There are many fronts to the battle for Liberty and it is harder to decipher real issues from supposed 'conspiracy theories'.

The big question for activism now is where do we make our big push? Gun Control, Police curruption, Agenda 21, the FED and Drones are all relevant issues.

I think for us to be effective, we need to find the issue that resonates with the most Citizens and push hard rather then small actions on many different fronts.

What do you guys think?

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

i am cut off from people.

i am cut off from people. and we at the dailypaul are cut off from each other, i guess. i never went to a meetup group, maybe that was my failure.

Fluoride is a good issue too,

you can basically tailor to each person individually. use the force.

Two Issues

Informing them about Jury Nullification

And secondly, the recent viral video of the internment and resettlement operations from the army pdf. spread this like wildfire. i emailed all my facebook friends. (i don't have money) and i'm already getting feedback.

what dr. ron paul is doing

Personally I find it funny that you are still so naive

to think that we can reclaim a republic that never really existed in the first place. Perhaps you think that we can return to the constitution which in fact is the framework for our enslavement and is fully in force now. Let's see here, the constitution gives the government power to lay taxes and to borrow money to create militias and to provide welfare. Just what part of that are we missing in our constitutional republic?

You are a slave and your children will be slaves. You let your so called rights fall by the wayside without once using your 2nd amendment right to defend those rights and now you are angry at everyone else. The Bill of Rights is just a pacifier for the populace anyway and has no real value. And now that the last Amendment is about to fall everyone is up in arms when they should have been using that Amendment to protect the others. The 2nd Amendment was suppose to be the teeth that gave power to the amendments yet it turns out they were false teeth the whole time.

You have been taught from birth that violence solves nothing while the whole time you have been enslaved by those who use violence to gain what they want and now you want to sign petitions and vote to regain your non existent freedoms. What a quagmire of emotion, illusion and lies we live in. Open your eyes to reality. The best you can hope for is the "second coming" or thermonuclear war. It's too late for anything else.
