Anti-government extremist groups reach record levels, say experts
Submitted by Repo Our Republic on Wed, 03/06/2013 - 15:34(CNN) -- The number of American "patriot" extremist groups has reached a record level, according to a new study, and experts are warning of a wave of anti-government violence.
A report released Tuesday by the Southern Poverty Law Center counted 1,360 "patriot" extremist groups in 2012 -- up by 7% from 2011. The study defines patriot groups as anti-government militias driven by their fear that authorities will strip them of their guns and liberties.
"They believe the Constitution is being raped. With hate groups, things are going to get worse because they feel like they're in battle," said David Gletty a former FBI informant who spent time undercover with various militia and extremist groups. "It's not surprising with their hatred of President (Barack) Obama that there are even more hate groups out there."

And just what is it they think the DHS needs to do? Perhaps Buy billions of Bullets thousand of weapons and light armored tanks? Build internment camps, cache weapons food and ammo around the country? In essence prepare for war on the American people? It appears DHS is taking the advice and preparing to act. The question is have they bitten off more then they can chew? You bet they have!

I don't think I've ever seen/heard them do anything beyond painting folks who disagree with the government on ANY issue as hateful anti-whatever extremists belonging to some mysterious hate group. Ditto ADL.

When patriot groups 'believing in the constitution' are labeled HATE group something is very, very, wrong in this country. The term HATE GROUP does not apply in any way, unless its about HATING your rights being taken away?

Thats exactly along the lines of what I thought as soon as I saw that. There is a big difference between a hate group and a group that has organized because they think their rights are going to be taken. The fact that they are being equated is troubling.
