As of 10 O'clock pm, a White House website petition asking for a response to Senator Rand Paul's filibuster on the use of drones against Americans has gained 1000 signatures and appears to be gaining steam.

The petition was posted on March 6, the day Senator Rand Paul engaged in a filibuster that has exceeded 8 hours as of this writing (and didn't conclude until 12 hours after it began).
"We the people request that you respond to Senator Rand Paul and the citizens of America on the issue of drone strikes on US soil with the potential to kill US citizens without a trial.
We request that you respect our freedoms and our rights as US citizens. Mr. President, as our elected leader, you are accountable to the people and so we ask that you address this important issue."
The petition requires 100,000 signatures to earn a response from the White House. The number of signatures necessary for a response was recently raised to 100,000 from 25,000 recently. Previously the White House had been held to a threshold of just one signature necessary for a petition for redress of grievances as described in the United States Constitution.
By 12:15 am over the petition had achieved over 2000 signatures.
