Rand Paul - a man with a backbone!

Hey, I wonder if Dana Bash is worried that Rand will run for President in 2016? I know she admitted that she was worried about Ron Paul when he was running. Just a thought.

clever technique

Step 1) explain how spontaneous the interview is
Step 2) Let idiot A ask stupid question and make bold statements the interviewee cant hear or rebut
Step 3) let idiot B reinforce the stupidity by paraphrasing in a slightly less direct way. Youve now heard something stupid twice
Step 4) end the interview with some final and unchallengeable spin

He ended strong nonetheless

Rand what kind or food did

Rand what kind or food did you eat?
Do you like snickers?
Was it tasty?
Where you aware of the twitter blizzard?
Are you aware that not all conservatives stood with you?
Wall street journal said you didn't tackle the issue properly.
Whats your favorite pastime story?
Was it hard standing for so long?
Do you really love this country?
Were your shoes comfortable?

Thoughts about Ashley the host...

At the very end of the clip Ashley creates a subtle moral twist to unwind Rand's very precise description of due process. She says:

"I want someone to give me a real good definition of imminent, and I hope the parties will agree on what that definition is going to be because it seemed like the Senator agreed with Eric Holder and the circumstance of the Times Square bomber that would be one circumstance of evidence where you could kill an American on American soil without a trial. Call me crazy but that's what it sounds like to me."

The show then goes to commercial and many viewers who would not have a stake in the matter one way or the other are left wondering, "Yeah, what about that guy?"

The answer was given already by Rand. "Yes maybe" but not with a drone strike in any circumstance. Can police or federal authorities arrest the guy or even shoot him if he's getting ready to press the button sort of speak? Sure. But to just destroy public and private property with a drone strike in attempt to stop a bad guy that we could arrest with a federal agent, is absurd.

Her question was could you kill an American doing bad things, yes, to answer her question, if the bad things were imminent. But she made it sound as if Holder and Rand thought that a drone assassination on American soil was entirely justified. At least that's how it came across to me...like a Jedi mind trick.

"It does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

--Samuel Adams

probably why they made it to where Rand could not hear her

CNN has got way to many tricks in filtering information which only reasons their fast turn over ratio with misinformed reporters, Shatter CNN, Shatter!!

kind people rock

The Time Square Bomber...

The Time Square Bomber was another (in a long series of) victims of FBI entrapment. Let's not forget that the FBI devised the plan, offered money to the suspect, provided the hardware and training, and then busted the hapless twit. It was a dummy bomb. How convenient that the CNN anchor remembers the alleged bomber's full name, but forgot that the whole sting operation was a publicity stunt and a sham. Nobody was ever in danger, except the twit they duped into it. And that's the example used to justify Holder and Obamba's position. Because the FBI has not foiled a single REAL terrorist attack since 9/11 (which they also failed to thwart, in spite of tremendous evidence and warnings from many allies).

Rand did well

the CNN host was annoying, as usual.

Dana Bash is either really

Dana Bash is either really thick headed or completely stupid. Does she really not understand the answer, explicit answer, that Rand was looking for? I'm not sure how many ways Rand could have explained why he did what he did to make it any more clear. I don't understand how these reporters can be so ignorant to not see what the Obama administration was doing, how they were spinning their answer by leaving it open ended.

She Isn't Stupid

This is a common technique the actors on the news employ all the time--act like the perfectly logical, simple answer given is crazy and incomprehensible. Maybe twist the position and then attack the wrong position (strawman-style) too. I've been watching these clowns do this to Ron Paul for the last 6 years.

e.g.
Ron Paul: "People have the right to decide what to put into their own bodies."

Reporter: "You want all children to be heroin-addicted prostitutes?"

Agreed

Agreed...it certainly isn't journalism!

So does the administration just have a Batphone Line

Connected directly to the desks at CNN that enable Eric Holder to have interviewers ask questions for him by proxy?

Because I'd honestly believe that, what with how far up each others butts CNN and Obama's administration are.

Seems this is going to be the beginning of the end of drones

Now that we know America is doing this overseas.. it's got to end.

Rand Paul Droned her

Rand Paul Droned her brilliantly at the end there.

Surprisingly great interview

Surprisingly great interview from an enemy to our movement.

I also noticed a new nuance with Rand; that whereas before he courted the neocons with tough talk, he now is very aware that he has the attention of democrats that may be antiwar/antidrone/civil rights so he is not attacking Obombya harshly, states a lot of goodwill and belief in common causes with the prez, and has toned it down to bring in the lefties and moderates. This is very good strategy if he wants to get anywhere with his policies and future campaigning.

bash is an idiot , everyone knows this

CNN = RAND DRONES...ON...ON..ON

YEAH BUT LETS INTERVIEW HIM NOW , FREAKING HIPPOCRATS

"He's this eccentric Ghandi-Like figure that you cant touch with the normal bribes that people respond to."
the man Doug Wead on DR. RON PAUL

Dana Bash

I still have bitterness towards her for how she treated Ron Paul before but anyway.

Its absolutely baffling and scary how much these two trust the federal government with their lives.

"Once you become knowledgeable, you have an obligation to do something about it."- Ron Paul

I love, love, love

Rand's response AND the look of disdain he gives Dana Bash at the end of the video RE her theorizing that "Obama may have a lot more information than Rand does about the threats to this country".

Rand Paul 1
Dana Bash 0 (as usual)

Patience is a virtue

You posted 4 minutes after your thread. Have patience, sir!

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

lol...

I havent been this excited since the election. What an awesome night!!

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

I hear that

You know what? Listening to this interview, I think Rand has an underlying agenda. Check this out:

Bash asked Rand what his intentions are with this filibustering. Rand says this around 3:54:

"[...] you want the issue to be big, because we want the President to respond..."

If the President responds with anything in the affirmative that he has the authority to kill US citizens on US soil, I think we have more of a case to impeach this MF'er.

If the President is speaking in an official capacity (and everything that comes out of his mouth during his term is official) and he says he has the power to curtail the 4th and 6th amendments, I believe he will have just committed an act of Treason.

I dunno, maybe I'm overthinking. What do you guys think?

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

TwelveOhOne's picture

It's all over but the shouting, in my estimation

Obama cannot win this one; he has already murdered two US citizens. I posted in another thread that I see it going like this:

1. Get president to admit "I have no authority to murder US citizens on US soil."

2. Get president to admit "I have no authority to murder US citizens."

Then provide the evidence from last year about the two separate strikes, about two weeks apart, one that murdered Al-Awlaki, the later one that murdered his son. Both US citizens.

Obama has to be a bit scared right now. They rule us through fear, I'm not so sure it's fun to be wearing those shoes right now.

Rand has a plan.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

wow..

Good point.. although I do not believe Rand is out to impeach him.

What blows my mind is that the administration didn't nip this issue in the bud a long time ago. Its a reasonable question and one that could have been put to bed a long time ago.

Its not like I expected any real leadership from Barry but this put him into a corner.

Well played Rand!
