Actress Ashley Judd to run against Mitch McConnell. Judd political interview added.

Ashley Judd has yet to officially announce her political aspirations, but a source with intimate knowledge of the situation tells FOX411's Pop Tarts column the actress is preparing herself to challenge Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his Kentucky seat in 2014.

Judd, 44, has reportedly been meeting with well-financed Democratic donors, and last week ventured to Washington D.C for more public engagements.According to Don Peebles, Chairman and CEO of The Peebles Corporation, a member of President Obama's National Finance Committee, and Vice-Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, a Judd run is likely much more than a Hollywood fantasy.

She, with 3rd parties in the race, are McConnell's only hope...

The not so new strategy of running the 'two steps backwards' candidate against the 'three steps forward' candidate... the 'bad cop' against the 'good cop', or the 'fire' against the 'frying pan'!

The CFR continues to show clear indicators of panic! They are justly worried that a true Rand like candidate, or worse for them, a Ron Paul like candidate will arise from the ranks of the GOP!

All the rest of his opponents will be primed to loose, so he can return to the mire.

As soon as she opens her

As soon as she opens her mouth about gun control she can go back to watching Kentucky Basketball. Good luck with that.

If we change the voting system...

we have a much better change of getting a strong, independent, libertarian RepubliCAN or 3rd party into office.

Another Display of Faux Republicanism

My fellow Americans of the great and sovereign state of Kentucky.

You are being served up a steaming plate of political ordure in the image of two individuals whose only interest is to grovel to their political party affiliation and any resemblance to the needs of the average Kentuckian is an after thought. It will be another media drama liken to the 19th century Hatfield-McCoy feud recently viewed on cable television. So grab a seat by the Big Sandy River and enjoy the show.

Does it matter if the pretty one of Hollywood fame wins over the crusty incumbent? Will your state get a few more crumbs from the U.S. Treasury that holds nothing more than debt IOU's? Where are the grandsons of James Bowie, Kit Carson, Joe Creason and John Ed Pearce to stand by the state motto of, "United We Stand, Divided We Fall"?

What will be the difference, I ask you? NOTHING!

The political science propagandists cloaked in their studio suits and seductive dresses wave the red, white and blue in front of your TV sets. They implore you to keep the farce going otherwise the plutocracy will have no legitimacy. "It's your duty to vote, you have to, you must keep the wheels of democracy rolling forward, we must have our share (of other people's money), vote, vote, vote," is the clarion call to drag yourself to the booths of shame; the booths of political pain.

Another famous Kentuckian, Jefferson Davis, once said, "The principle for which we contend is bound to reassert itself, though it may be at another time and in another form." Well that time is now.

Take a new course for liberty and freedom for Kentucky. Shock them all, stand together and deny them your vote. Let them die and bury them in their own casks of corruption.

She probably couldn't be worse than Mitch McConnell

But from the very little I've heard about her politics, she's not someone the liberty movement would endorse. I think she's another statist. Maybe she would vote against wars though (hopefully). In short, she'd probably be bad overall but still better than McConnell.

There is a big difference

There is a big difference between being politically motivated. and knowing anything about politics. She talk about it, but just like most politicians, she too probably knows nothing.

Good luck..

Ms.. Judd. Having been a huge fan of yours for a vast majority of my adult life, McConnell understood what Rand was going to do and not only #standwithrand but spoke from the floor in support of his state colleague.. which forced the hand of Lindsay McCain.

This is chess and not checkers.

As if replacing a neocon turd with a mindless Hollywood socialist tart would benefit the liberty movement in any way.

Democrats are even more worthless than republicans.

Are we going to have a

Are we going to have a liberty candidate? It is certainly neither of these two. Anybody from Kentucky have an idea. I hope to hell Rand does not indorse McConnell. That would be two steps back from what he did this week. Be smart Rand, and stay neutral at the very least.

I agree

Please Rand, do not endorse McConnell. I hope Rand does not have to be put in that position. It would be worse than having to take a position on Obama/Romney.

I think I would go with Judd, or sometimes they have an option of "none of the above." We used to get that one in Nevada a lot in the 1970's. It usually never won, but was an option.

"Please Rand, do not endorse McConnell"

"I think I would go with Judd"

Suckers.. no wonder they think the people are too stupid to rule themselves. She's a liberal buddy and not one based on Classical Liberalism.

What do you think the reality of someone challenging McConnell

McConnell has broken his oath to support the Constitution. He is a total enemy of liberty in every way, and he is powerfull in the GOP and Senate.

We would probably get more out of Judd. At least she would only have a vote, and not the power of McConnell.

You mean like we're getting more our of Obama than we would

How about you take your socialist ass to the trash heap.

This board is becoming too establishment.

Well it's not cheering for Rand head first lol

Hip hip hooray!

I just got off of the phone with Jackie up in Dakota, she tells me that there is a big push for Judge to run and it's gaining traction. I don't have fb so I don't know the details. We both agree that Rand is good for the senate, we need more states with guys like him, but to prop him up as Liberty won't do much good for our cause, or the future. I could be wrong, but I thing this whole thing is moot. Establishment are up to something with Rand, good or bad, if hillary runs she's the next president no ands, ifs or buts.

In an ideal situation I'd rather see a solid and reputable Liberty person make a run for the WH, to keep the message alive so that hopefully we can get more folks in more of the states where it counts. I've been in a cranky mood myself concerning my own local neck of the woods, this board doesn't help much.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

I was inferring that I was

I was inferring that I was hopeful of a primary challenge to McConnell by a liberty candidate. And, that Rand would be smart enough this time to either endorse liberty or keep is mouth shut. Certainly not endorse McConnell the slime ball.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

It would be great if a liberty candidate would challenge

McConnell, who is such a slimeball, I wish we could jail people like him who broke their oath to uphold the Constitution.

McConnell, Reid, McCain, Graham and several (well, hundreds) others are poster perfect for term limits, but I think it would be better if they were forced to uphold their oath to the Constitution.

so we replace one douchebag

so we replace one douchebag with another... what is so great about that? I guess Judd would be nicer to look at :)

Am I an idiot

For saying I would vote for the McConnell over her? I choose neither, but I would definitely vote the turtle before her. Did she get paid for this stunt?

This is getting to be a bit too much.

Especially the part about money. That just proves politics are paid for by cash. Maybe that's what she is trying to prove. If I had her cash I would have a farm and have my own livestock and veggie garden and I would wave a middle finger at everyone else, and not run for office.

I would definitely vote in Rand in place of McC. Although they are "allies".

Bad for us

McConnell probably knew he was going to be challenged, he sought out an ally, that was Rand. Rand losing an ally isn't a good thing, even if it is McConnell. Judd would be far worse imo.

I would vote

Every day, the news looks more like "The Onion"

and "The Onion" looks more like the news. Really? A STAR? I could be represented by a STAR!!! And not the fat Judd, the hot one. Maybe if I vote like her I will look like her? Maybe if she is my representative I can be famous too!
Guess I need to move to Kentucky, all I get to vote for is NWO goons, I want to vote for a STAR!

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Well, at least she's not a lawyer

Qualifications and experience, like one requires to get a job, doesn't mean anything in electoral politics. It's a moral and popular choice.

If we were looking for people with like administrative chops or even half studied world-views, Romney should've clocked BHO. And if we really cared, we would've pulled out a few dozen million and pulled Jack Welch or somebody out of the private sector.

Really, with these type of clown contests going on, Rand looks like a pretty good senator.

So far all all she is is a pretty face looking for handlers.

Nobody even knows where she stands on things so I don't think I'll be cheerleading for her anytime soon. I especially won't be hoping she beats out McConnell after he stood by Rand.

'She will have a steep learning curve. One major stumbling block for Ms. Judd will be selecting the right people to guide her through the political and communications process. Right now, her handlers are relatively inexperienced publicists and friends,' he added. 'She, and the Democratic Party, will have to ensure that she has far more experienced and capable advisors as soon as possible because she is being observed carefully right now to see if she has the right stuff to run for office.'
