Whole Foods commits to labeling GMO products.

Walter Robb, co-CEO of Whole Foods, said the issue was about "the consumer's right to know."

The Real issue with Whole Foods

No time to scrounge up the links right now...

But Whole Foods was busted on their claim of "All Natural" products in their stores, when they clearly easily stocked as many GMO products as their competitors.

They were also busted training their employees to claim that they didn't carry them when asked.

A video went viral of this - using secret shoppers asking the employees "Does whole foods carry GMO products" and many of them said either they didn't know, or they flat out lied and claimed there were none.

Meanwhile you could clearly see the products behind them on the shelves - literally hundreds of them - brands totally infested with GMO corn and soy and etc.

Also - not quite as sure about this one - but they might have been backing the opposition to the labeling initiative in California.

All of this has probably created serious backlash for them.

So yeah: the free market in action. This has very little to do with "consumers right to know" and everything to do with consumers pissed off at being lied to and manipulated.

Because money talks. And money walks from bullshit.

Yes--

they are a corporation and do what corporations do, but I think they are trying to do the right thing now; I hope.

I don't have much contact with Whole Foods, since I live in a very rural area far from the nearest one--

but now and again, if we travel to a Whole Foods city (which is quite a process) I visit them; there are a lot of good deals, if you watch--

they're not perfect, but they are a step above most local grocery chains--

*I* think.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Interesting. Generally

Interesting. Generally thought that Whole Foods was a stand up company...
