New leader of the GOP: Rand Paul - CNN

(CNN) -- A few weeks ago, Time Magazine ran its now-famous cover: "The Republican Savior: How Marco Rubio became the new voice of the GOP."
Only time will tell if the junior senator from Florida lives up to that billing, and it's entirely possible that Time will be proven wrong in the coming months and years.
But there's one cover that the magazine could run now and be entirely confident in: "The Republican Messenger: How Rand Paul became the real voice of the GOP."

Rand Paul

is going to destroy Hitlery in 2016. The Clintonista's play dirty pool...better watch 'em.

Pure Genius

STAND WITH RAND 2016

Nothing Substantial

was talked about by these MSM idiots as usual. Candy bars? REALLY? Typical. Slight of hand tactic. Go figure.

skippy

If Lindsay Graham and John McCain

Are booted from the senate, the Neo-Cons will lose control of the GOP, and hopefully for good.

Rand Paul would be the perfect candidate to run against Hillary Clinton in 2016. He's set himself up with smart political plays, clear arguments and courage.

I will relish these days where Lindsay Graham has been stomped on. It's been a long time coming and well deserved. Hopefully Rand can keep it up.

I like how he is appealing to independents, who overwhelmingly disapprove of drone strikes against American citizens.

Presidential elections are won or lost on the base and independents.

The best part is how the author criticizes Rand

he wrote: "He often gets his facts dangerously wrong -- like when he falsely argued that the number of government employees grew under President Obama, or when he alleged that the U.S. was smuggling weapons out of Libya to Turkey, without any proof."

and then the post scipt

"(Note: An earlier version of this article incorrectly said the number of federal employees had not grown under President Obama; in fact, the total number of government employees at all levels has not grown since he took office.)

Being that Rand was talking about Obama's role in growing the federal government, on this point the author is wrong, dangerously wrong.

I did a quick search

http://money.cnn.com/2012/01/25/news/economy/obama_governmen...
"Employees: The number of federal employees grew by 123,000, or 6.2%, under President Obama, according to the White House's Office of Management and Budget.

Much of the hiring increases came in the departments of homeland security, justice, veterans and defense."

I don' think Mo was right about the arms thing...

Seems Paul was basing his question on a European based new source that interviewed a ship captain at a Turkish port. I will have to try and google how Rand exactly asked the question to Clinton. Is Mo referring to some other statement Paul made?

The Hillary cult is out in

The Hillary cult is out in full force on the comments section. It's disgusting. Truly a hateful bunch.

why would anyone here vote

why would anyone here vote your comment down. I am voting you up to get rid of the one negative vote. Whoever voted this comment down, I think you are lost.

Thank you. I actually have my very own troll. It's kind of cute actually.

You are special.

For some reason I think you

For some reason I think you are being sarcastic. I may need to clarify that the Hillary Cult was on the comment section of the article from which this post was about.

Spread the truth about Rand!

Rand Paul is a genius. The mainstream media will not tell us this. Only the alternative media will. Please spread the word! http://subsidiaritytimes.com/2013/03/08/rand-paul-touch-of-g...

I'm a Professor, my name is Wall

FRONTPAGE please!

Spot on, from a Democratic strategist/operative who normally disagrees with Rand, for that matter!

some highlights:

...it's Paul who has become the clearest voice of the new guard in the Republican Party. And he is effectively driving the entire GOP message right now...Paul has proven that he has the ability to punch his message through in a way that no one else in the Republican Party can.

He's clear...He's principled. He's more ideologically consistent than many people in Washington

...While many senators in his party have held up nominations for petty political reasons, Paul held up John Brennan's nomination over a principled stand that attracted attention from both progressives and conservatives. And as several commentators said after the fact, it's easy to believe that he would have done the same under a Republican president.

*** hmm... that sounds awfully a lot like someone else we know...

Paul's also proven to be a master of both old and new media...He had the entire traditional political press corps and mainstream media focused on him like a laser beam by utilizing one of the most old school tools available to a senator -- the filibuster. Yet he made it feel new.

And at a time when most Americans are starving for leaders willing to cross party lines and find common ground, he is about as far from compromise as you can get.

...Even if Paul doesn't become the nominee, he has the potential to shape the GOP field in a way that few others can at this point. In short, for now, it's Rand Paul's party. And it seems like so many other Republicans are simply trying to figure out how to live in it.

*** Whatever happened yesterday, I FELT a sea change...

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

Whoever msm 'declares' a so-called leader...

It is up to all of us to promote ALL liberty representatives. It is not one person who will win for us, but many. It is to our best interest not to play into the hands of msm/tptb.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

That was a very good

That was a very good article...Mo takes a couple shots, but overall it's a very positive article.

"In short, for now, it's Rand Paul's party. And it seems like so many other Republicans are simply trying to figure out how to live in it."

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.
