80% of New York High School Grads Can’t ReadSubmitted by zooamerica on Sat, 03/09/2013 - 19:07
Despite Being No. 1 in School Spending
"And there’s your problem. Promotion results in graduating students who don’t know anything. High school grad rates increase, but the high school graduates don’t know anything. And their college becomes an extension of high school. Eventually a PhD becomes the equivalent of a college degree and then a high school degree. And then we’re Russia or Cuba, boasting about our education rates despite the fact that the diplomas we hand out are mostly worthless.
But I’m sure Bloomberg will just blame his failure on Global Warming or the NRA."

80% - Unfreaking believable. Dumbed down to the point of not being able to read nor write. They can text, order a #3 meal, drive a car, and they can vote!
Scary, isn't it?
And it's not just the young high school students who can't read either...this article suggests that 14% of the American public are illiterate.
14% ? I don't buy it...Try about 30% I work with at least 100 people/clients a day and many simply can't read. About 3 out of 10 clients can not read - on a good day.
Basic reading, writing, math, and language skills are shot.
Back in the old days, peasants and slaves could not read nor write...they were uneducated Euro peons.
Public high schools (and dumb parents) are doing a fine job of producing uneducated, illiterate zombies all over America.
"Recent polls have shown a fifth (20%) of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"
