The Changing Meme of the Story of Flight 93Submitted by diana hengerer on Sun, 03/10/2013 - 13:50
I posted this under "Rand" for one reason, and am posting it in conjunction with the recent post regarding Dick Cheney's admission that they ordered the plane "shot down."
Disucussing hypothetical justifications for drone use on US soil, this:
Defining The Threat
Rand's hypotheticals verged on the outlandish, says Steve Vladeck, a law professor at American University.
"I think the Obama administration has been quite clear it would never ever use that authority except in an extreme emergency situation, the likes of which are not that hard to figure out," Vladeck says.
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul leaves the floor of the Senate early Thursday following his filibuster of the nomination of John Brennan to be CIA director.
They would be emergencies like another Sept. 11, when terrorists hijacked a plane full of civilians and the Bush White House ordered the plane shot down anyway. Or Pearl Harbor, where enemy fliers are dropping bombs on U.S. military installations.

Am I missing something here? What happened to all the cell phone calls, and the heroes overcoming hijackers and crashing the plane??
Down the memory hole? Wasn't there a movie about this (I never saw it, but I think I remember it was all based on the "official" original story.) Anyone else notice this?
