Love - The Only Bridge to God

Love
Conquers all
The only bridge to God

No more usury
Planet earth restored

Once all wars end
You will
See

Clearly

Who you are

See birds fly all around you
You will be able to fly with them
At no cost and no banker at your feet

True freedom starts at the very moment

No more usury
Planet earth restored

Love
Conquers all
The only bridge to God

See I heard the only bridge

See I heard the only bridge to god was blind obediance. Pretty sure love doesn't get you anywhere unless you are prone to loving fictious beings you've never met.

I am confused, what is the

I am confused, what is the POINT of this thread?

To inculcate and insulate

The christians on here, to confirm their bias by mentioning their imagined deity and self congratulating each other for holding this view. It's just like any other cult mentality. We're all in it, downvote for the naysayers!

No train to Stockholm.

Paradise Regained

"As children gath'ring pebbles on the shore.
Or if I would delight my private hours
With music or with poem, where so soon
As in our native language can I find
That solace?"

Didn't you hear?

It's Haiku appreciation week.

Once it leaves the poet, a poem can

mean different things to different people (or nothing at all!). I don't know what inspired legalizeliberty to write what he did. But my reply to fishyculture, below, is more or less what it meant to this reader: http://www.dailypaul.com/277750/no-more-usury-planet-earth-r...

The inspiration was beer. (per LL at bottom of page)

I must also give Thanks for the good German beer which inspired me to compose this poem.

Beer ...

... does more than Milton can to justify
the ways of God to man. ( Maybe even vice versa, in my mind, at least).

Inspiration is where you find it, right?
I find beer and live blues very inspiring right now.
Walk the doG. ( Maybe even vice verse ).

Hi Friends

Asked her Mama for fifteen cents.
To see a fella jump the fence.
He jumped so high he touched the sky,
Never got back till the fourth of July.

Walkin' the dog,
Jes' a-walkin' her dog.
If you don't know how to do it,
I'll show you how the walk the dog.
Whistle.
C'mon now, c'mon, c'mon.

Spoken:
Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
Tell me, how does your garden grow?
You got silver bells and you got cockle shells,...

;-)

...and pretty maids all in a row

Good to see you, LibBerte :)

Thanks, Jiminy ;-)

Yes, I saw that. :)

I thought he meant having a beer inspired him to put pen to paper, that is, to record his thoughts. But, if the beer inspired his actual thoughts - re the destructiveness of usury and indebtedness, the need to restore the earth, and/or the conviction that love conquers all... then I say we should find out what brand it was and start passing it around!

It's kind of a less pointed

It's kind of a less pointed spark of creativity by legalizeliberty.

Just a lyric or whim for the mind to escape to, and even along the subjects we so vehemently and logically argue.

Its a frill of the virtual culture that has developed over the years here at the Daily Paul.

Jubilee

I really do not understand why Christians do not demand the Jubilee that God ordered to happen every 50 years. We are WAY overdue.

Jubilee: there are differences between

the old and new covenants I don't profess to understand, but if Christians (of which I'm one) were to go by the OT, we shouldn't have been involved with USURY to begin with. Of the three religions tracing back to Abraham, by and large Muslims are the only ones who've taken God seriously about that. (I'd think that alone would make them a threat to a globalized system of enslavement through debt.)

You inspired me to check the wording re the jubilee. (Lev. 25) Also part of that covenant was that we KEEP THE SABBATH, including w/our LAND. "But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard." As to the 50th, jubilee year (with an extra year for the land to rest): "And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family..." Assuming Christians would go by the OT, I agree: these would not be something to demand, but to DO.

As to the poem, imo Christians don't generally operate according to the OT and what God commanded through Moses (re usury or restoring the land), nor the NT and what Jesus commanded (re love), which with different motivation would have the same effect.

I know, I LOVE the land thing!

Have you considered the deep wisdom of that? All our mono-cropping megafarms are depleting our soils so badly that our food is less nutritious. The earth needs he rest, too, and if we did what was recommended we could fix much of what ails our environment.
I admit, it has been a LONG time since I studied the Bible, but I thought Jesus wanted to keep the old laws, other than a couple specific changes, "an eye for an eye" was now "turn the other cheek" for instance.
Either way, it is not about making God or Jesus happy in my opinion, it is about doing the right thing. How nice that God and Jesus have my back on this. All three of us can be ignored together, at least I am in good company!

I sometimes think we are too, however

God determines the times and seasons. As for why we don't just demand it right here, right now...Some see Jesus as the fulfillment of all the promises spiritually, thus do not necessarily hold out for the physical fulfillment as well. Many others see the 1000 year reign of Jesus at the end of the Armageddon war as the fulfillment, so we are content to wait it out, as we work for justice in the meantime.

Many of Jesus' parables speak of working while you wait for His return.
Peter, one of the disciples who was closest to Him on Earth, said:

Dear friends, He is not slow in keeping His promises, as some understand slowness, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9, for the full statement, back up to the beginning of the chapter, and read to the end of the book)

"Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern." ~~C.S. Lewis
Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

Yeah... God determined every 50 years.

What is confusing about that? I'm not asking for Jesus or anyone to save us, I am asking us to turn to each other and forgive each other. POOF! Homegrown Jubilee. When I read the Bible, it is pretty clear that was God's instruction.
