“People ask me, ‘How can you...not be friggin’ mad at God?' "

Where do you go when you want to tell someone something, or maybe you just want someone else to know? Alot of times the Daily Paul is one of those places for me. My sister's husband, a Pastor, is dying and there was a write-up in the Kansas City Star on Saturday. So I have attached the article below. There are also some pics and a video at the site.

My brother-in-law has an 11 year old daugher. He is the love of my sister's life. Their 2 sons are in college. Pharma couldn't do a thing for him, but he is Walking with God. Even when facing death one can experience peace and liberty!

God’s Next Assignment for Joey Butler: dying

Despite an operation that took his left kidney, numerous treatments and trips to the University of Kansas Cancer Center and to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, nothing worked. He has decided there will be no more treatments.

“It’s been a raging hand-to-hand combat internally with discouragement. Because you know your body is not the same. It can’t do things that you used to do...Look, I could have never orchestrated these last 14 months more perfectly with the amount of people I’ve been able to talk to,” he says. “People ask me, ‘How can you go through this heavy trial and not be friggin’ mad at God? Or scared out of your mind?’ ”

His Commandments

I John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Believe on Jesus and Love Others.

2 John 1:5 KJV
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

Evidence of Belief in the Son of God is Loving Others:

1 John 3:14 KJV
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Jesus says since the time of John is the time of the Kingdom:
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. 16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Love fulfills the law:

Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Love fulfills the law.

I agree

"...it is not wise to ignore Moses either." I fail miserably.

Matthew 35:22 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I cannot even keep those 2 commands perfectly. As a matter of fact, I wonder what it means to love the Lord my God with ALL of my heart and ALL of my soul and ALL of my mind. I imagine I will stand before him and weep because He rarely has ALL of me and I am shamed to say so now. But I also stand in my Lord Jesus Christ who loved me and gave Himself for me. He who knew no sin became sin for me. Wow!!!

• 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Even so, there is no reason to sin willfully and trample underfoot the Word of God. I am so far from being holy.

...

yes, you are IN HIM now, you are immersed INTO Christ

and now are CLOTHED with Christ (Gal.4:27) & because of this He will perfectly full fill His will within your life--glory! That is the *rest*...to LET HIM...it is not by our might or by our power but it is all by His Spirit. He in you will love the Father perfectly, He in you will serve the Father perfectly, He in you will do the Father's will perfectly. It is all Him, and all His work, for we are His workmanship! To Christ Jesus be praised!
Also, I wanted to explain that when some translations say " he made him to be sin for us", this is referring to Jesus being the sin OFFERING, Jesus did not become sin --Jesus was/is sinless.
He was the pure, spotless lamb and was the sin offering.

Bear, I am praying for your brother in law--and his family.
The blessings of the Kingdom to you and your family.

Jesus is the saviour of the WHOLE WORLD, "As in Adam all die, so too in Christ ALL shall be made alive." (ICor.15:22) All means all. The pagan 'hell' of literal fire & eternal torment is a lie and is SPIRITUAL TERRORISM. http://www.hopebeyondhell.net

Hi, Thank you for your words.

Yes I understand that Jesus was perfect, holy, and sinless. It was my sin that he bore on the cross and not mine only, but the sins of the whole world. He was the sacrifice for me because he was without sin even tho he was tempted in all ways!

Thank you for clarifying that! If He had not been without sin, He could not have been the lamb of God that takes away sin. Isn't He Grand!

Thank you for the prayers for my brother-in-law and his family. They are much appreciated!

Yes my sister, He is grand!!

He is truly wonderful, beautiful and all together lovely.
I love that you love Him with all your heart, with your entire being.
You are precious....you are His beloved bear.

Good to have you around here bear

By the way, I haven't seen najam around in months. That's another user whose company I thoroughly enjoyed. I see that they encouraged your Daily Proverb thread. If you hear from them, tell 'em they are missed!

.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Thanks jruss133

I have thought of najam often. I don't see Holbrook much either. It concerns me that while I realize one cannot mince words, we are among the world here and some people do not recognize the truth and if they are bashed for not knowing it, how then will they have ears to listen? I find often that I want to walk softly and yet it is impossible to be liked by all when standing in Christ. And sometimes the bashing and is overwhelming...especially when it isn't my thread and I read some of the comments about Christians. It is my hope that we can have a good testimony for the Lord here among our Friends of Liberty.

It has been a joy to chat with you around the Word as well.

Let me tell you the story of Habakkuk

You can read it for yourself. The book is only 3 chapters, but here is a paraphrase:

Habakkuk was sad because of the sin of his people.

"O Lord(YHUH), how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!"

So the Creator says He will raise up the Babylonians.

"They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it."

Habakkuk doesn't seem to like this very much. You see, the Babylonians were pretty bad themselves.

"Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?"

The Creators response?

"Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

And then He gives us that great quote you have probably heard before. It applies to this thread and the question posed.

"The just shall live by his faith."

Basically, it's going to happen. Period. You're just going to have to trust Me.

.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Nice!

Thank you for cliffsnotes, or should I say jrussnotes on Habakkuk.

Heb. 11 Faith! It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidencee of things unseen!

It is what carries us thru as we rest in the Shelter of the Almighty whatever may be our course.

God knows best

He gave us dominion over the earth through Jesus Christ, but most Christians don't know that. Only through prayer we can change things. God will not interfere with anything but only if we pray. He gave this world over to man. But he knows all things and have numbered our days. He can extend our days if we ask him in prayer. God is also a healer. My friends mother was healed of lukemia after prayer. All things are possible to those who believe Jesus said.

OK I was not angry at God it was more like BLIND RAGE

OK so here's me, we consider ourselves to be priests, whole family tradition that's what we are.

My whole excuse has always been that I am a priest, I'm just not a very good one. But I had...I found...I was gifted with this absolutely stunningly gorgeous wife and even more incredibly it just seemed like she understood me, like to understand me is to fear me but she just loved me. It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me and man, she made me a man and inspired me and when she was taken from me I went on a rampage.

Against God.

I literally took all of my skill, all of my training, all of my power and I tried to follow her into death and bring her back. And I knew it was against all the rules and not only did I do it anyway, i did it with BLOOD IN MY EYES. Because in truth being willing to defy Holy God himself, even profane my own soul beyond redemption, I would have destroyed this planet and everything on it, you, your women, your children, your dogs your cats your chickens, I gave EVERYTING and would have given more. Just to see her brown eyes one single more time. And just to hear the sound of her voice. just for 5 seconds I would give my arms and my legs. Because her voice was the prettiest music I have ever heard and when she went all the music in my life stopped. And all the shine went out of my life.

So anyways I took all of my teaching and power and dove into death. Headlong. And I failed. I did not find her but I found death. I believe I found my way into a meta-place between life and death and there are millions of people there but they are all talking and nobody is listening, they are full of hate and sorrow and they endlessly replay this cycle of pain and mostly ANGER AT GOD AND REFUSING TO ACCEPT. And they are all talking and nobody is listening so I got there and I tried to use my voice.

HELLO I AM SMUDGE, HAS ANYBODY SEEN MY WIFE?

But nobody listened and then I noticed how very very cold it was there. It's cold like no other, IT GOES RIGHT THROUGH YOU.

Oh and there is no orientation there. There is no up or down or right or left, THERE IS NO GRAVITY THERE so there is no such thing as direction. And then your nose itches and you lift your hand to scratch it only to find that YOU DON'T HAVE HANDS ANYMORE. AND YOU DON'T HAVE A NOSE. But this is probably the only positive in an utterly disoriented experience because you don't have hands or a nose but you have a SELF PERCEPTION of having same so you can actually "wave your hand" or itch your nose if you want to. Like if you get freaked and say DO I SILL HAVE LEGS? well yeah, you can feel them, they are still attached to your "body" whatever that means. The disconcerting thing comes in where you have legs but there is no SUBSTRATE. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WALK ON. So your legs are exactly as useful as a bicycle is to a fish.

So how did I get out? I totally 180d. Some part of me realized this dread mistake I had made and I had faith. I might have really, really, really scrwed up and defied the law of God ON PURPOSE but frankly at one point I realized i was in way, way, way in over my head and I just refused to believe my God would abandon me. So I just began shouting for help. At the top of my "voice". And I shouted thus:

HELP HELP HELP I AM LOST IN THE GREY PLACE AND I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP HELP HELP HELP!

And it just so happens that God in His infinite wisdom authorized an order of priests, they are generational and their speciality is cruising the dark corridors and shadow places looking for people exactly like you and me: people that got lost in the dark but want out.

People sometimes think of God as being an absolutist but in truth He gives us second chances, third chances, fourth ones, fifth ones, hey He can keep this up all day, He not only invented numbers, he's the only being in the universe capable of understanding INFINITY because He made it.

Now am I a Christan and do you have to believe in the bible to believe what I just told you? No. You better not. What I just told you didn't make it into the bible. But I know some things because I WAS THERE. I LITERALLY DIED. YOU HAVE TO BE DEAD TO SEE WHAT I HAVE SEEN.

So I have seen life and death and I made a decision: I chose life.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

Yes, you are right--God never gives up on anyone!

Thank you Smudge Pot for sharing your heart--your life, your sorrows, your pearls.
I treasure you and your pearls.
Yes, you were there--and He does have His priests, those who are one in Christ, they minister to all those in the shadows, in the dark places,---to all the lost who can't find their way home.
Christ is the light and all His priests are the LIGHTHOUSES...shining the way back to Father's house.
His blessings to you precious smudge pot--His joy be multiplied to you!

I don't know brother but it's a good question.

How do we not?

I can tell you it goes easier on us if we learn to forgive God and if we don't we usually end up taking it out on ourselves or those around us. Because after all, how do we hurt God? I dunno about you but my arms are too short. He's someplace way way way above me and I can't nail Him on the schnoze as much or as many times as I though He deserved it. There have been times in my life when I was angry at God.

I will tell you this now: God is big enough to take it. Like I get the idea we can hurt His feelings, He's pretty sensitive but us hurt God?

Nope. No dude. We can't hurt God. Our arms are way too short.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

Thank you for weighing in on my post

I left a comment for you over on your post! Thank you for the intriguing thoughts you inspire with your intriguing thoughts!

touching story

We must all struggle to find meaning in what life deals us. What helps me is to realize that pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

“The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants.” — Albert Camus

"pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional"

Those are really neat and thought provoking words. Thank you for sharing them.

Same reason he's not mad at all the other Gods in the world? Or Santa Claus?

Why not be mad at He-man or the ninja turtles?

No train to Stockholm.

I think he is probably asked that question often because he

has spent his life serving God as a Pastor, so the jist would be, gee, some great God you serve, look how your life has turned out. Cancer? Really? Aren't you mad at God after all you have done for him?

“What the Bible teaches is

“What the Bible teaches is that the enemy comes to discourage you"

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

Luke he has no need to be mad at anyone. Why would anyone be mad at entering into the kingdom of Heaven.

There it is

I down voted you because you have zero respect for this family. You can believe or not you have free will. This family needs to believe more than ever to help them through... Yet you choose this venue to try to convince yourself there is no God.

Ironically beautiful story

What is blessed day.

Peace be with you!

Thank you Granger

for stopping in with kind words. I actually have felt bad inside since my run in with you and Nonna the other night. I received the packet from you with convention/Ron Paul/Liberty materials this week. Thank you for sending them to me.

(((((((((((((bear))))))))))))

I never saw or felt any run in with you. What I feel is an inability to communicate what I see as simularities, and how what you see are issues, that I do not see them applying to you or me, or many people here, fighting for liberty. We all have our ways and our roles. You and mine are simular in that we look to Jesus for the path, the light, the way, and I believe I can say the same for Nonna who shared with us, her personal experience, in her attempt to show you that from her own experience, she has met people who appreciate LF, and that does not stop them from finding LOVE for Nonna, and praying with her and for the good in God and LOVE for the world.

You know LOVE is the way.

Thank you for your support. I really didn't expect anything and was so appreciative because it really made a difference to what my purpose was at the convention, as it took me out of myself and helped me focus. THANK YOU!

It is funny,

I have felt like I can speak openly to you and we can talk back and forth, but when Nonna spoke to me, I felt cut off and shut up. I don't have thick skin, my bad :)

But Granger, I believe what the Bible says and what Jesus said. He claims that his is the only way to the Father. If He is not the only way, then He is a liar. But that isn't my issue with LF.

But we don't have to talk about that, but I do want you to tell me if you change your mind about him, and I will tell you if I find out differently OK?

LOL

Would I go see LF by myself? No. I would not go because as a single non muslim woman who knows no one, I would feel out of place, not knowing the proper protocol, I would not feel comfortable.

Would I go if I was escorted by a friend who knew people or was better educated about LF than me (that's pretty easy to do) and I felt that I could trust my saftey, and this goes anywhere that I am unsure of the customs, yes, I would go to see for myself.. I was afraid to go the the GOP committee meeting,

I would be very surprized if you told me that you would go to a LF speach unchaperoned or alone. But would you go if you were invited by a friend just to see for yourself?

Maybe if I met a LF supporter who told me that they hated me and threatened me I would think LF is provoking people with hate speach. Instead, what I see, is LF reflecting the hate that has oppressed black people for all time. Hate begets hate, and this is as far as some go with LF, yet, while we do not share the same religion, I also hear his message of LOVE of God
