How 'poor' is 'rich enough' to justify increased taxation?Submitted by rusty_shackleford on Tue, 03/12/2013 - 15:46
I have a good job, I make $15 a hour and work 40 hours a week.
My weekly take home after taxes used to be ~496 dollars. This year its ~484 a week
Thats a 12 dollar decrease each week, or almost 600 dollars less a year.
My total take home is about $23,000 dollars a year
What is the justification for my taxes going up? Am I rich and didn't know it? Does that 12 dollars help the government more than it helps me survive? Was it even cost effective for them to change everything just to screw me out of 12 more dollars every week? Why not go after a fraction of a percent of any billionaire CEO and take a few million every week, why MY 12 dollars?
Oh, and last year when I submitted my taxes, they told me I was short $1.30 and had to pay up. i mailed them a check, it literally cost them more to receive and cash it than it was worth, but they did cash it.
how can they afford to pinch pockets like this, its juts stupid and horribly inefficient.
I hope that 12 dollars helps someone, but more likely it'll be used to help kill someone in a third world country. =|
god bless merika!
