My son's non profit ACP trained and armed 10 women over the weekend! Pic.

At no cost to the women!

That will make a nice paper target pic for DHS!

Just kidding! (not really though)

Looking good anyway.

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." Benjamin Franklin

We need to be welcoming and accepting.

These woman are taking a big first step. In time they may continue on pursuing freedom and self-empowerment. Who knows, some may look into Ron Paul and check out the DP. Unfortunately they might see the shite on here from those who can't get past appearance and weight and decide were a bunch of shallow chumps. Let's please appreciate the good in their accomplishments, and be open and accepting. We need everyone who's interested involved in the freedom movement. Personally, I'm not willing to close the door on anyone due to appearance or health issues.

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

I was not making fun

...well may be a little. But the most important point is, we need quick reaction if the situations needs that. I want people to learn close combat for quick disarm and counter attack on the perpetrator. More often than not, you are going to be in casual situations where you will not be armed. Please check out Krav Maga. Very effective close combat techniques that address many vulnerable scenarios. The best defense in most surprise situations is to run away from the perp.

Please dont make fun of the

Please dont make fun of the way these people look. A lot of you were made fun of for one reason or another and Im sure you didnt appreciate it. I was made fun of for being a ginger kid. Maybe they dont know any better or just dont care. Its their lives.

I Don't Think It's About Making Fun

To me it's about being able to react quickly enough if the need arises. I don't make fun of people for being overweight I blame that on the disgusting junk they put out now that they call food. I personally find it very hard to find food that isn't tainted in the stores and I REALLY try. I just find it odd that these women who are not physically ready for actively engaging in a shootout with anyone are given guns that are only capable of shooting one pop and being told that THAT will make them safe. I myself am not (as someone here asked) built like Brad Pitt, but I am not as overweight as these girls and I don't feel as though I am in any way ready to take on an armed adversary. I mean, geez, even the military has been kicking people out for being too fat. FOR REAL! I don't see why so many people are so sensitive about thinking people should try to get in better fitness as though that is a tabu subject. Are there that many overweight people on DP?

skippy

Wow that's AWESOME!

Great pic... fighting back the tears of joy :) I'm such an emotional basket case... lol

It's great to see citizens...

actively standing up for their rights. Millions of citizens are realizing that freedom is not free and taking action. I would also like to see pictures of citizens holding semi-autos with banana clips, because if a couple of armed individuals break into someone's home, the homeowner will need a semi-auto with a big clip to defend his/her property, family and life.

Free societies cannot exist without the right of self defense. That's why the framers used the second amendment to establish self defense, not hunting, as an unalienable right.

Exercise routines also ?

Looking at the picture, may be the course should also include outdoor exercises...LOL.

Mr. Coplen, thanks for...

the work you're doing and check out the link to "Resist gun control" at the bottom of this comment. You'll find info that preserves second amendment rights, creates safer schools, and defeats the arguments of gun control advocates.

Thanks for your part in keeping this country armed and safe

What about a project like this in every state or even county???

Someone should teach them how

Someone should teach them how to eat properly after this.

Here's a simple rule: If it's in a bright colored box with slick fonts and marketing... IT'S BAD FOR YOU!

Just saying....

The irony of it all, the only individual looking "healthy" is..

the young dude on the left/hands in pockets..without a firearm.

I have to say,

the picture made the same impression on me. I'm concerned to see so many suffering from the seemingly uncontrollable obesity epidemic. The culprit? Likely the western diet. Or maybe it's just a winter thing.

Well-groomed metrosexuals

attract more men than women.

I don't get your point. I'm

I don't get your point. I'm not discussing style, I'm discussing health.

Healthy body, healthy mind, healthy environment, healthy society... The opposite of course is what we have in the USA currently.

What would that picture look like in the 1950's? Or even the 70's?

We have some serious issues in the USA....

It's easy to say that someone should teach them to eat healthily

It's easy to say that someone should teach them to eat healthily, but the problem is much more complicated than that. Many inner cities and other bad parts of towns no longer have grocery stores, only convenience stores. Which means fresh vegetables are unobtainable by many.

Our food supply is nothing like it was in the 50s on back. The dwarf strain of wheat developed in the 70s that was in full use in the US by the 80s has much more gluten than previous strains causing many more people to have celiac disease, gluten intolerance etc. Some naturopaths say that 70% of African Americans are gluten intolerant. Add to it that GMO corn products are in almost everything. There's pharmaceuticals in our water that were not in there in the 50s. The high rate of antibiotic use in prescriptions and in food animals has made candida a huge problem now days.

Ann Boroch discusses candida in these videos.

All that said, I have quite often seen people using food stamps buying nothing but cases of soda, Doritos and Flaming Cheetos and other processed crap.

So it's a multifaceted issue.

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

I agree

with everything you have posted here. Many people suffer from candida AND if you have this fungus you will crave sugar; can be passed from mother to child.

I would like to add a site/book "The Schwarzbein Principle", how she cures diabetes with diet changes, (sausage and eggs for breakfast). http://www.schwarzbeinprinciple.com/pgs/dr_schw/sp_I_intro.html

This situation makes me so sad. Look back at old pictures and see how flat the teenage tummys are, usually able to see hip bone. Now fast forward and notice most all the young ladies, they have a more rounded tummy some even look like they retained their baby fat.

Agreed. Chances are quite a few of 'em could have "DM" and...

not be aware of it.

"Health is Wealth", btw.

P.S. I'm a county DM clinic nurse

That is cool

Better than idle thumbing.

This is absolutely fantastic

I plan to write an article about this project and hopefully get this thing some more support. UP UP UP VOTE!

That's awesome

I bet those women are stoked. It was probably difficult for them to give the loaners back and it likely made not only their day, but their month, or even months.

I have a massive distaste of violence of any kind unless absolutely necessary but I think most people would stand to benefit from instruction and their view of guns could change their friends opinions. It's fun, teaches discipline, safety, and promotes a feeling of strength.

Guns are a tool much like a hammer. Actually a hammer is probably more lethal than a gunshot wound. Unless that bullet hit your brain stem. Guns are a better tool for hunting game. Hammers are a better tool for building a house. It's how you use your tools is what is important.

Guns can be a tool of peace as well.

Too bad they didn't have bayonet attachments and didn't learn to stack arms. That's fun.

Last week, a training school here had 1/2 women in it

I thought that was great! In fact, since the Sandy Hook incident, I've noticed a HUGE INCREASE in women getting trained for self-defense.

deacon's picture

thats great

i am all for self empowerment
don't take my comments as being against this or condescending, i
meant no harm, nor was it ridicule,i have my own here
i empowered to not be a victim,i have seen that all before,it doesn't sit well with me
and it does keep it bumped?

Overweight middle aged women with guns.
