Panel approves assault weapons ban; Cruz, Feinstein get heated

The 10-8 vote came after a heated exchange between Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who Feinstein scolded for giving her a "lecture" on the Constitution.

It’s the fourth piece of gun control legislation to make it out of committee, and perhaps the one with the longest odds of becoming law given opposition from Republicans to a new ban on so-called assault weapons.

Committee Democrats first beat back four amendments offered by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) that would have carved out exceptions to the ban. Cornyn asked for exceptions for victims of domestic violence, military veterans and those living on Southwest border states that he said were affected by Mexican gang violence.

Well, jeez

...as long as the debate is heated, it's all cool.

Seriously, lesson one: the NWO will allow you to complain all you want as long as you comply.

Now, go vote. Ha.

The bigger question

is how are they going to enforce it? Maybe Ted Cruz should replay the tape of the reaction of the crowd in upstate New York to the recently passed gun control law.

The old farts in Washington won't be happy until they start a war.

I think you hit it

that's what they're stirring up. The gun debate is a great 'divide and conquer' tool. Let the population reduce itself at its own expense.

I find it very interesting

the old farts who are championing this legislation. I believe they understand that we're not going to register our firearms and submit to background checks, not with this type of legislation which in effect bans certain guns this time around, and will continue with more legislation until all guns are banned.

Maybe the old farts should move to Europe? I'm sure they would be more appreciated there because they sure are wearing out the welcome mat here.
