Classic Ron Paul: Lost Tape from the Morton Downey Jr. Show

LOVE this clip - I'd never seen it before! Downey smoking ON AIR! This chick... she's a plant... anybody recognize her? But wait until 2:40 - Doc GOES OFF on the petunia.

I sure wish he'd have brought up the Franklin Scandal, but this is some eye popping truth! The look on his face when the audience starts their ignorant chant... I am SO GLAD he lived to see US - cheering "End The Fed" had to be pretty sweet for our guy!

Ron Paul Classic...Libertarians NEVER goes out of style!!

Ditto and I like his retro hair "fringe"...bangs, that is.

It's great to see RP taunting

It's great to see RP taunting the girl at the end. I love seeing him get all fired up. Thank god RP saw the world's mind change during his lifetime. I love you Ron!!!!

Creatively edited by a conniving media whore

... this could be bad.

Lesson to all liberty warriors :

train every day so that one day when confronted with a shrill operative or just a really clever heckler we have an extremely calm zen-like grace in all our words

Yet with all the fire and passion for liberty still conveyed to the audience :)

The generation that did not have the ability to think... and they criticise our generation...

That generation was totally

That generation was totally enslaved to the MSM telling them what to think. I just thank God I survived it.

Yeah well, after 30 years of

Yeah well, after 30 years of failed drug policy and misery enough to to choke a national size horse, it turns out Dr Paul was right all along. Who gets the last laugh now?

Yup. You nailed it. Q.E.D.

Yup. You nailed it.

A unique physical attribute of Dr. Ron Paul

Physically speaking, there is one thing I find amazingly unique about Dr. Ron Paul after watching videos of his past speaking out :

HOW ON EARTH can his chest contain a heart which is THAT BIG ?!!!

I mean, in addition to an outstanding common sense and soundness out of his brain, this man has, ALSO, CONTINUOUSLY SPOKEN OUT HIS HEART AND FAITH in the texts and principles of LIBERTY FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS IN A FREAKING ROW !

Again :

HOW ON EARTH CAN A HEART THAT BIG fit in a normal human chest ?!!!

His heart is even bigger

than that of Chuck Norris!

What would the Founders do?

Oh please....

do not question the size of Dr. Ron Paul's cojones! Love those Dr. Paul oldies.

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

I love the recycling

It's great when these videos resurface every year or so.

God Bless Dr. Paul.

He kept me from losing my behind in my 401K when he predicted the housing bubble and other economic issues.

I hate to say it but I rubbed peoples noses at work when they lost over 30% of their savings after I told them what was going to happen. But subtly. "I'm glad I moved my money." Everyone else: ":(" Another one was people buying homes at peak price with easy credit. Told my assistant not to buy a home. He did and ended up in bankruptcy. I liked him too much to rub his nose in it.

There are two huge bubble forming in my area, well at least two that I can see with my own eyes. Both are localized. Another housing bubble. The same "I can touch my neighbor's hand from out the bathroom window" "homes" were going for around 800K less than a year ago. Now they are 1.8 million across from the mall on steven's creek. Why anyone would like to live across the street from a mall is beyond me.

The second is the tech bubble which is forming much like the dot com bubble. It's gonna pop one of these days. There is a national one which Dr. Paul touched on recently, and of course the currency bubble of QE infinity.

Dr. Paul is a badass.

Normally I am comfortable being a wage slave, but for now I'm stuck on the roller coaster which may stop at serfdom. Fortunately I will inherit property. Which I am putting every extra dollar into.

I remember this from when I was tiny

it was the sole libertarian view I heard properly represented for decades, outside what I would have thought was a communist hippie advocating for their slate of druthers. It kept a little ember of truth burning through a very long neocon phase, where I felt like I was following that ideology because it was the opposer of them thar liberals, but gave me an understanding that there was something better yet.

I didn't even realize it was Ron Paul who'd said it until well after the 2008 campaign, when another supporter mentioned the show and the message and I put it together.

Defend Liberty!

That's really awesome

It's nice to see Dr. Paul raw. I was thinking how he reminds me of myself many years ago. I used to get so mad when talking to people that just cannot use reason when explaining their position because if they did, their argument would fall apart. Also, those that are convinced that all we need is more government to tackle the problems that government creates, would be drowned out by my verbal disdain: "they were just too dumb to get it" I thought. "They are willfully giving away all of my rights because they can't handle the responsibility it takes to maintain their life as an individual; Freedom is too hard." I had a duty to be mad.

I would get beligerent because I was furious that the government was using the schools to direct loyalty away from the family and to the government. This vid reminds me of Alex Jones, talking over others to drill his point home. I realize today, as Dr. Paul does, that a calm demeaner keeps ears tuned in. All I had to do last go around was register everyone I know GOP and give them the list of delegates I wanted them to vote for and they were happy to do a me a favor because my sincerity about how I care about them and this country shows more with my demeaner today, than when I was ready to pick glove colors.

I am very proud of the huge progress that has been made. Keep it up everyone. Don't give up on local takeovers, SHOW UP to meetings. It would be such a shame to squander all the hard work that everyone has put in. Peace

I guess I'm not alone

My hero!

He is just so amazing. There is an interesting contrast in his debate style of today compared to this video. He is much more mellow now! lol

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.

don't confuse that show with debate

That was just the nature of that show and a bit of the sign of the times. I like his passion though and as tolerant as one could be in that situation.

I was in east Texas back then. Those were different days for sure. The drug wars and all that propaganda. I hate to even think about it....the its ok to take their property if you think they are involved in drugs, etc, etc. The ideals of this country have been gone a long time. I see hope on the horizon though. Keep up the good fight.

I like your

positive attitude:)

I was just a tyke back then and from what you describe I'm glad I missed all that! lol

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.

I saw the original broadcast.

Around that same time Dr. Paul also made an appearance on the Firing Line program with William F. Buckley. During this interview Buckley presents his blueprint for all future marginalization and manipulation of Dr. Paul and the Liberty message. Watch any mainstream media interview from either of the last two campaigns and you will see Buckleys method employed.

I never watched another episode of Firing Line. Within two years my television set would be face down in a dumpster. By 1996 I was a registered Libertarian and actively campaigning for Harry Browne. It's really a shame, had Ron Paul ever received a fair hearing in the national press, if the system wasn't rigged, he would likely be our President today.

Commie whore says she's "tired of people ... using the Constitution to do what [they] want to do!" (Kinda like she is by running her mouth...)

Goddamn, Ron Paul is an intangible national treasure! The son of a gun goes right into the hive of the rabid and ignorant enemy....

What would the Founders do?

Thank nature

this was before I was born!

Jury Nullification is a power of the last resort against tyranny.

Anyone else think it was weird that Downey was smoking while making fun of smoking?

Check this out

I hate this video. Ron Paul

I hate this video. Ron Paul does a great job. But I can't help getting angry watching these people act like complete idiots.

this was long before the access to Internet

Back then the public was completly enslaved by the MSM about the War on Drugs and what was going on over sea's. believing Capitalism had something to do with restricting personal freedom. THANK GOD WE HAVE ALTERNATIVE MEDIA, let us Protect the freedom of this technology or we may very well go back.

His name is Edward Snowden

What is Capitalism?

I love the response to

I love the response to 'should the government regulate your diet' question.

Because the nanny state that audience is demanding is exactly what we have now, with obamacare and bloomberg trying to ban sugar...

Good to see ron paul being consistent, as always, no other politician can claim that.

I love the 80's Paul

He had some pep and fire! :)

I love the 80's Paul for the

I love the 80's Paul for the same reason. Also, one can only really appreciate Ron leading by example to watch his individual evolution and change in his argumentative temperament. When Ron says be a good example, he takes it to heart and is not a total hypocrite. When people describe Ron as a statesmen today it's not because he is not capable of being a firecracker. Oh no, he was a firecracker at times but has tempered his zeal for a more effective delivery of the philosophy and message.

Thank you for posting that.

My respect and appreciation for Dr. Paul grows more and more. He just amazes me.

idiot beret woman

"im tired of people like you using the constitution to do whatever you want to do , if we legalize drugs we are giving up on the whole country!!" -- idiot beret woman making no sense

"well im tired of people like obama, feinstein, pelosi disregarding the constitution and literally doing whatever they want." - ghostdog

"He's this eccentric Ghandi-Like figure that you cant touch with the normal bribes that people respond to."
the man Doug Wead on DR. RON PAUL

I hear ya!

But actually what she said is we are giving up on the whole CONSTITUTION if we legalize drugs! lol What a fool. I get why she thought it would be so dangerous though, I used to feel the same way.
