A Slow Motion Revolution Gathers Speed

The Progressives in both parties may be the establishment now but they have always been and continue to be revolutionaries seeking to turn the American dream into a socialist nightmare.

Since the 1890s the Progressives have worked to change our American Experiment from a federal republic operating on democratic principles that recognized our God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness into a democracy where the government grants rights and pursues its own happiness.

Inch by inch, step by step they have worked to change one aspect and then another until today the cacophony of minute changes has become a centrally-planned federally orchestrated symphony playing Hail to the Chief.

We have transitioned from federal republic into an imperial bureaucracy controlled by a Chicago raised Alinsky style outfit determined to reduce us to abject obedience. This is the direct result of an education system captured by the Progressives delivering generations of uninformed voters and of the entitlement society delivering a near majority of citizens who get more than they give from the federal trough.

This should be no surprise to anyone. A country once famous for the political engagement of its citizens has raised generations on the dictum that neither religion nor politics were the subject of polite debate. The culture of media-hyped sports addiction and hedonistic indulgence has produced millions who know more about their favorite team or about the latest fashion than about their own government.

I don’t know about you but I’m so tired of being lectured by people who get their news from Leno, Colbert, or the Daily Show that I have all but stopped speaking of anything of substance with most people. We have all developed ways to identify fellow patriots. We listen for anyone to say anything that will give us an indication that here is another American who realizes where we are and from where we have fallen. Then we have great conversations, comparing observations and trying to encourage each other that the United States as we have known it will survive four more years of America’s Chavez.

Often I wonder, are we just singing to the choir, lighting a candle in the dark, or sticking our thumb in the dyke? Will our clandestine discussions on the fringes of a complacent society make any difference? Or are we merely whistling in the wind as our beloved country changes forever into the dead letters of a living constitution?

We have to admit that the Progressives have out maneuvered and out organized those dedicated to limited government. They have turned the world upside down. They captured the Corporations Once Known as the Main Stream Media turning them into a propaganda arm dedicated to suppressing the truth and giving the government party all the cover they need to do anything they want. They radically empowered the federal bureaucracy ceding it powers granted to Congress to set policy and make law. This red-tape machine has grown to become the largest organization in the world. It is ever-expanding and filled with career people dedicated to enlarging their private kingdoms and increasing the power of the nomenclature at the expense of the people.

The courts have been packed, the banks have been bought off, and the unions use legally mandated dues to support candidates and policies their unwilling members don’t want. Check and check-mate. The situation has become so dire and the hour so late that it appears the only line of defense we have left between the USA and the USSA is a House of Representatives controlled by Progressive Republicans.

These Progressive Republicans want the same things as their Democrat counterparts: bigger government and more power even if they may want to drive us to the poor house a little slower.

There are a few younger ones who have been elected by the Tea Party such as Rand, Lee, and Cruz who are trying to make a difference. At every step the Progressive establishment in their own party tries to ridicule them into toeing the party line of compromise and surrender. The old bulls talk conservative to get elected then join hands across the aisles in a marriage of despotism with deceit.

The further we get from the puzzle factory in Washington one would think the closer we would get to our American heritage of government of the people, by the people, and for the people. However, the same uninformed disengaged voters form the majority all the way down to the precinct level. The community organizers have done their jobs very well. Try to name a state that isn’t in debt. Try to name a county that isn’t working to install Agenda 21, promote sustainability or cram its Master Plan down the throat of an unsuspecting public. Try to name a city, town, or village that doesn’t have its good old boy network that manages to stay in power year after year.

Several years ago after an unsuccessful attempt to unseat an entrenched state senator from a gerrymandered district my wife and I decided to become involved on the local level to try and make a difference. We spent several years battling Agenda 21 while watching the good old boys win by hook or by crook either ignoring or fooling the voters. Maybe it’s because I grew up in Chicago and was raised on the milk of “You can’t fight City Hall?” Maybe it’s because I have seen bribes work and honest petitions fall on deaf ears? Maybe I’m just a cynic at heart? Maybe it’s true that a pessimist is what an optimist calls a realist?

Although we shall not go gently into that good night it appears we are in the twilight of our Republic and about to enter the sunset of liberty and the dawn of an America with a living constitution, a herd mentality, and a cradle-to-grave welfare state. If the bell has not tolled yet it is about to. Even if the Obama Zombies don’t flock to the polls as directed and return Nancy Polosi as Speaker of the House so that a one party state can drive the final nail in Columbia’s coffin, the swelling debt will eventually bring collapse. This is of course the end result of the Progressive’s long march towards the realization of the Cloward-Piven Strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. After the collapse these social planners believe they can impose any type of system they want on a public clamoring for relief.

Ready or not here it comes………………………..

So what can we do now that it has been done?

First of all we have to educate ourselves about American History and the principles of limited government. Principles which formed the cornerstone for our two century experiment with personal liberty, individual freedom, and economic opportunity so that we can educate future generations about who we were and what we hope someday to be once again. We can’t teach what we don’t know.

Then we have to build a library of books and DVD’s that tell the story of America. For books look for reading lists at Tea Party sites, also check out conservative media people such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck for suggested readings. For DVD’s the History Channel has produced many great series on such things as the Revolution, the Constitution, the Founders, etc. Individually or in local groups create an asset that our people can use to immerse themselves in the heritage of freedom.

Finally we need to stay engaged in the political process. Become involved with likeminded people and figure out what, where, and when is the best place for you to spend our political capital. None of us is as smart as all of us so if we all look for the way back to limited government eventually a spark will be ignited that will burn with the intensity of a thousand suns and a new chapter in freedom will begin.

Until that time do what you can do. It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

Keep the faith. Keep the peace. We shall overcome.

I call it the gathering of the critical mass.

When a critical mass about 2 to 5 per cent disengage, enlightened disengagement the weapon of choice in this leaderless revolution, the rest will follow.

One definitely needs to spend

One definitely needs to spend less time on the InterNet and more time locally. Dr. Owens was making a lot of sense until...

he suggested Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck as sources for reading material. Rush to Limbo is a neo-con water boy, and as such, he's done more to the trash the Constitution and Bill of Rights than any other phony conservative in media. Rush and a few thousand of his neo-con partners in crime should be doing life in prison for treason. Glenn Beck tries to walk the line between neo-con and libertarian, but anyone who is awake knows that Beck is just leading his sheep to slaughter.

If as Mr. Owen suggests, we use education and books to turn the tide of tyranny, we need to take control of our local school boards. As long as property owners are required to pay for public education, we should demand that we get something for our money. That something would be framing all subjects in the context of liberty within limited government, and what it takes to hold on to that liberty.

Why do we need to frame all subjects within the context of liberty? Well, many totalitarian nations have had excellent science and engineering programs, but no education in liberty to place that knowledge in a moral context. Doing so will require reading the ancient Greek philosophers like Plutarch, and defenders of the Roman Republic like Cicero. This should culminate with works like John Locke's treatises on government and Montesquieu's "Spirit of Laws". Last but not least, students must be taught that there have always been corrupt elites who want to enslave the people, and there always will be, so the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

I also thought the same thing

I also thought the same thing with the History Channel documentaries. I've heard some of the funding for the History Channel has been to subtlety skew the truth. But I don't know how true that is.

Wow, it's almost like, almost like

...it's almost like it's a war and that "we" should be running toward the political activism battlements. Except, not.

Readers, you're being duped. Any revolution, by definition, guarantees only that the proverbial wheel will end up right where it started. If the NWO can keep you focused on political activism, it can rob you blind.

Be economic activists. Join or start an alternative market. Ignore all pretend claims of jurisdiction over your life or property. Call out "kidnappinig!" and "fraud!" whenever someone pretends to have a punitive authority which supercedes your freedom.

"The piece of paper is rule of law because the piece of paper says so."

Agree. Because the rigged election system will not let you win.

If the NWO can keep you focused on political activism, it can rob you blind.

It's this kind of false argument that...

discredits the anarchist ideology. They suggest that markets cannot be rigged and that political systems are always rigged. The truth is, political and economic systems are inseparable, so if one is rigged they're both rigged. The framers of the Constitution placed limits on rigged public/private partnerships like that of king George III and the British East Indies company.

After the Revolution, corporations remained small institutions chartered at the state level for specific purposes. By law, corporations could not make political contributions, could not own stock in other companies, were required to serve the public interest, and could only exist for a limited time. Owners were responsible for criminal acts committed by the corporation and the doctrine of limited liability (shielding investors from responsibility for harm and loss caused by the corporation) did not yet exist. John D. Rockefeller led efforts to change laws requiring corporate owners to serve the public interest and be responsible for criminal acts. Rockefeller said "competition is a sin". And with the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, thus was born the worm eaten monarchical system of tyranny from which the framers sought to save us.

Ron brought the Liberty movement together, Rand is expanding the crap out of it! :)

To the negative commenters

Visit Dr. Owens' blog. Read some of what he has written. He is a fellow traveller. He has perspectives that I don't share, but many that I do. Why should I reject him out-of-hand? Why not engage in conversation, maybe even learn from him things I did not know?

If we don't embrace people who are going in the same direction as us, then we will be stuck talking to ourselves and complaining about not having a bigger influence.

I beg to differ....

Actually yes we are taking over the GOP, and yes we are having a tremendous impact. All over the country, at the precinct, town, county, district, state, and national levels, Liberty minded activists have collectively acquired positions that influence GOP policy at all these levels. And as frustration with government (and frustration with both parties) grow, our ranks swell since it is seen as a positive avenue for change.

Respectfully suggested, you could consider joining your local Campaign for Liberty group, and catch up with the rest of us. We could use your energy and efforts, rather than conceding defeat in a post on a site dedicated to positive, unrelenting activism for Liberty. You don't need to be happy with the current GOP to join it as an agent of change with the rest of us.

I do appreciate what you are trying to do, I really do

But, no, you are not taking over the GOP. It is nice that Liberty movement people have infiltrated a few, and I mean a few, small population states. But, just looking at the RNC and the amount of trouble the Neocons/Trotkyites went through to prevent a vote against the national committee having totalitarian rule over state delegations, I just don't see it.

Our ranks will swell, I agree, with the Glenn Beck/Limbaugh types that think being conservative is being anti-Obama, drones, and the insane notion of "balancing the budget" in twenty years. Gaining these people do nothing but keep the GOP in power.

I will not join Campaign for Liberty as long as the traitor/hack John Tate is involved. Him and his spending tens of thousands of our dollars on stupid little "petitions" and writing letters that sound like they came from Lindsey Graham.

You don't have to join C4L

There are many Liberty groups you can associate with, but you don't have to join. Sign up to be a delegate, and work the Liberty process from the inside and the out.

FYI, in Michigan 11th district, we are the Romney stronghold. He received nearly his entire 32K margin of victory in the primary, in our district. This is likely the most populous area in the state. We are only about 40 delegates short of taking over this district. We WILL do it in two years. I don't care about the national level, I can't affect that. But I can make a change here.

Please sign up to be a delegate - you will see some crooked politics up close (for entertainment & education purposes) and meet other like minded folks.

I'm not a newbee

I've been elected as a delegate both times. I was elected chair of our district conventions after we dominated our county and we won our district both times as well. I've slogged it out with state rules, dirty games, and led the charge since '07. I've even had to deal with the feeling of needing a shower every five minutes for a whole day because I was negotiating deals with Santorum people. I've done the state party functions like Lincoln Days. I've helped get committeemen elected. I was organizing the '07 Tea Party before most people saw the website. Don't you dare make the assumption I have never done anything for the movement.

I've just seen enough and I don't think taking over the GOP is a possibility, that's all. They will literally kill us before that happens, I'm not kidding. All the effort going on might, in some miracle, get Rand elected and then what? We will still be dealing with a statist Republican who just "compromises" nicer.

You are belittling our efforts...

It does not sound like you appreciate our efforts, you minimize them in every breath. I respectfully suggest our efforts to get into the GOP to change it are indeed working, although it would be faster if people like yourself actually got involved instead of sitting on the sideline and making excuses not to do the work.

Regarding campaign for liberty, who is that other guy involved in it again...Oh yeah, Ron Paul. Look, you may not agree with Tate and I get that. But what other activity are you promoting, that has a chance to succeed on a national level, where we can push our message of Liberty? Unless you have a Plan B (and I think you probably don't) then at least don't belittle those who are moving forward with Plan A.

+ 1000

Plan A is working.

It Is...

...good to see someone who can critically assess, rather than simply regurgitating some desire based on 'hope'.

You are dead-nuts on reference the 'grand GOP takeover' fallacy.

People should strive for Liberty in whatever way(s) they choose or that present, but being grounded in cold, hard fact is critical.

My hat is off to you.

Here's a cold-hard fact

In Michigan - we were only a few percentage points of taking over at the State level. We are winning, and will win because our group of liberty minded people will go out and get more people to become delegates. I encourage you to become a delegate, learn the process. Sure you will be disrespected and lied to but so what? When we lost at the state level, the goons said we need to make a statement backing the winner, for the purpose of "unity" and that did not happen. We will not give up and our numbers will increase. We only needed about 35 more bodies, and we WILL have them next time around.

I don't care if we don't "take over" the GOP, but if we get our people in place, then we get to decide the direction of the party in our state. We become the authority, and "they" have to work with us, that's how it works when you have large enough numbers.

Like you said, "strive for Liberty in whatever way(s)", including becoming a Republican precinct delegate.

We are winning - and you would see it plainly once you're in the trenches.

C_T_CZ's picture

Not a fallacy...

My cold hard facts are that in our county, we have a 45% to 65% split of liberty minded precinct delegates versus establishment delegates. At the district level, we are closer to 40% / 60%. So while we're not a majority yet, we've only been at it for maybe a year or so. By 2014 and certainly by 2016, we will have a majority.

Don't call our efforts to push the GOP to Liberty positions as a "fallacy", especially when at the state and national levels, it is evident that the strategy is actually working. The only people who think it is a fallacy are those who choose to not participate because they are under the misguided impression that it is not working.

Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck???

I was with you all the way till you mentioned those two sock puppets.

Poser/Fake/GOP Propaganda Punk

Notice he has one line, without names, about "Progressive Republicans", but identifies Obama and Democrats many times over. Then, after pointing out what we here have known for a long time and screamed about only to be soundly rejected by both sheeple-parties, he has the nerve to suggest that we look into Teocons, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck?!?!

What a gulla-bull. I may craft an email to him, I'll update if I do.

Can you please point out

where the word "democracy" appears in ANY of the founding documents? Sorry but I couldn't read past that part.

Who said it does?

He did not say America was created as a democracy; he said

"the Progressives have worked to change our American Experiment from a federal republic[...]into a democracy where the government grants rights and pursues its own happiness."
