No Beba el Agua.

(translation: Don't drink the water.)

Possibly the world's worst-kept secret is the fact that America's so-called 'political left' is the political party of choice for Mexican immigrants.

However, during the 2012 campaign Doug Wead (Ron Paul's political advisor) stated that a large number of Hispanics attended Ron Paul rallies and events.

I'm working on writing an invitation to join the libertarian/limited government/Tea Party faction of the political right to be translated into Spanish and circulated far and wide.

I've already got about 4 or 5 key points to make about why the Liberal left and Neocon right are both bad news but the more points I can make the better.

Can anyone who has been deep into the left suggest specific reasons why Mexicans should not trust the Democratic party as it presents itself? Anyone here who was duped by the left personally?

Also, volunteers to translate this into Spanish, anyone?

Thanks all.

Si podemos!

Rafael looks like a strong contact y hacemos sitios web y software en espanol e ingles, e traducir sitios web. I'm sure that between us we can come up with something slick.

As far as what Mexico has in common with libertarians, the Mexican government (basically a European import) has a long, unbroken history of persecuting it's native peoples, it's government is a criminal gang and property rights exist as long as nobody richer or more powerful wants your property. What don't we have to communicate about individual liberty, self ownership and inalienable rights?

Yes there's a long and deep socialist tradition going back but I'd say rather than come in like the typical gringo and tell everybody they are doing it wrong, start just as you are: with the positives. In many ways we have a lot to learn with our southern American brothers and sisters.

Good going Chris. We're here to help.

What I'm thinking of is short soundbite pamphlets, and videos...

on a particular 'liberty' topic, en español. 'No beba el agua' would be a working title for one that would warn against trusting or believing anything the government says in general.

Perhaps 'don't drink the kool-Aid' would be more to the point...

OK I get it

Maybe we should convene a working group. I'm really interested to hear more from Rafael. All the times I've chatted to him and had no idea he worked in the region. The person that fine-tunes my translations is also a DPer so we have the basis for a good team. PM me any time.

One thing is I don't really know anything about video production but a lot of other DPers do.

There was a couple, I think out of Washington State.. I don't recall their names.. the wife was I think from Guatamala.. and they came to Daily Paul, and they made some really cool videos.. and some folks here gave them a hard time and they left.. but I never forget those videos.. they were good because she spoke well, was a natural, and the message was spot on..

found it! She's from Peru http://www.dailypaul.com/609/seattleites-for-ron-paul

Awesome Innitiative!!!

I'll be more than happy to translate for you as I travel around South America.

One thing that completely discourages minorities in the usa about the Democratic Party is its history with the KKK. The republican promotion of the right to bear arms of both whites and blacks- during reconstruction- was a definite antagonistic motivation of Democratic leadership, which helped form the Klan in the south. Also remember that the anti-catholic sentiment was also one of the main motivations of the Democrats to form the Klan.

Libertarian principles are at the heart of the classical liberal mindset of all Latin American revolutions. For example, in the center plaza of Bogota, Colombia there is a plaque that reads "El derecho de portar armas os an dado la libertad," which translates to "The right to bear arms have given us our freedom."

Libertarian ideals are an easy sell within Hispanic culture... I'll be glad to help.

Totally PMing you!

Thank you. With your help we can dispel this "

"elephant in the room" mentality that somehow 'white' people are the voice/strength/meaning behind the republican party which is utter bullcrap of course as we know.

I believe Hispanic people can strengthen this country and this movement and I stand to be proven wrong.

It is my understanding

Here in CA, during citizenship classes, the attendees are told the Republican Party is the party of the rich, and the Democratic Party is the party of, by, and for the poor. MSM enforces this.

So it is very hard for those who come here and are poor, taking tests for citizenship, to forget, or challenge, the idea that the GOP is a party for only the rich. They REALLY REALLY believe that.

At Church, I have been approached many times by the Mexican Americans for donations beyond other members.. "You're a Republican. You have money. You should help the poor. That's what Jesus teaches."

To tell them, "I'm a Republican, but I am not rich". They think you are a liar.

Don't overlook the considerable

work that has already been done.

For example, has translated a lot of stuff into Spanish already (thumbs up to
whoever is responsible for doing that!).

Like this subtitled version of the legendary "What if?" TV commercial:

or like this great translation of the RP "What if" speech by DP'er BEROGU:

"Señora Presidente de la Cámara de Representantes, tengo algunas preguntas para mis colegas,

"¿Qué si nuestra política exterior del siglo pasado es profundamente defectuosa y no ha servido a nuestros intereses de seguridad nacional?

rest at:

Ron Paul's stuff sounds great in Spanish!

Good idea.

Immigration reform is key. As far as I know it is the only issue that they are really compassionate about.

I can, with a little help from my friends, translate it.

Thanks for the link.
