Freedom Island: Grab Sheriff For The Liberty Win!
Submitted by vinceableworld on Mon, 03/18/2013 - 18:51This is an action thread. If you don't want to read my explanation then no problem - just skip to the bold print at the bottom. How would you like to live in a FREE county?
Many people here talk about jury nullification. Jury nullification works for one case at a time and can set precedents. I think it's a good thing. SHERIFF NULLIFICATION on the other hand would effect EVERY case and MOST of those cases would never even be initiated in the first place.
Can we put our heads together and see which sheriff in this country is most susceptible to being tossed out of office in lieu of a candidate who will actually honor his oath?
Action requested: Can you please look up your county sheriff election results for the last cycle? Jot down in the comments the following information so we can make a determination of where we have the best chance to complete this mission:
1) Did your sheriff run unopposed?
2) What were the results, who were the candidates?
3) Link to any information about those candidates.
4) What was the TOTAL number of votes in the last cycle for sheriff?
I'm going to do that work right now...

Please excuse this casual phrase: Great Post.
Now for something less casual, yet probably not exactly what you are looking for.
A blog like this Daily Paul blog can be a good tool, yet not a great place to organize. For one thing, there are many posts on Daily Paul that don't get much legs, probably due to the sheer number of posts. However, it's still a great collection of users/observers and a good place throw an idea on the wall.
Having your own specialized website might suit you better for this purpose.
Then, you can actually control the responses; filtering out the fluff.
In the future, you might be surprised by what people have to offer if you don't try to corral the responses.
I, for one, don't come to this site to work.
It would be nice if I could get some people to work for me.
Here is one of the results from typing "constitutional sheriff" in the Daily Paul search box:

Great idea, perhaps I can contribute to a collection point you create in the future.
Funny you should mention that...

Oscoda County MI
1) Did your sheriff run unopposed? I researched Oscoda County MI, not my county, but since I am a nomad I do not have a county and I know a lot of people in this county. He did not run unopposed.
2) What were the results, who were the candidates? The candidates: Kevin Grace & Marshall Weidenhamme. Kevin Grace won.
3) Link to any information about those candidates. I could not find any links about him, I did check MI state attorney general for any complaints filed, but I found none. I will go digging through the Oscoda County Herald and see what I can find.
4) What was the TOTAL number of votes in the last cycle for sheriff? 4,005
jrd is still here... kinda in a weird sort of way. She also just might be the happiest girl in the world because she got exactly what she wanted which was a perfect summer wandering playlist.
Wow around 4,000 votes to win
freedom in one county. Why are we wasting all this time and cash on PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS?

and putting all this casual banter on this thread. The purpose of it is for the action request:

First two questions
1) The #1 priority of the movement should be to empower individuals to forum on the issue/office they feel is the most important (I had a copy of A Treatise of the Laws of Sheriffs, Constables and Coroners in my hand at loan from the Oklahoma State Library, I seriously considered taking a fine to keep it, but I'd rather find a copy legitametly. If Sheriffs is your game, you need to get a copy of that book, it is hard to find, I haven't other than that one).
2) No. I'd rather work with my Sheriff as much as possible and network with Constitutional Deputies (our Sheriff typically comes from the Sheriffs Department). There is a network of Constitutional Sheriffs in Nor Cal/Oregon, so I"m near there. I'd rather get them all talking to each other before I work on a campaign. And it'd take a much bigger project to get me to relocate.
Maybe some sort of mission to Africa to help build the Congo out of absolute poverty. I'd go do that for a few years and live there. Aside from that, I got my home, the World is small enough to travel yet big enough to keep me busy until Mars start asking for farming volunteers.

Is your sherrif an oath-keeper?
I known mine is.. Tom Allman Mendocino, and I'm pretty sure you are correct about most the sheriffs in NorCal.. I think it's either Sonoma or Lake county that does not ahve an oath-keeper for a sheriff.
Our DA is also an oath keeper.

If they support the war on drugs.
They are oath keepers in name only. They are OKINOs!

Well, that may be
medical marijuana is legal here, but meth and others are not.

What we SHOULD be doing, instead of playing politics.
How do you run
unopposed and only get 68% of the vote? That guy must be a real gem!

The rest were undervotes.
The rest were undervotes. Those people didn't vote in the contest, and/or the counting process failed them.
What we SHOULD be doing, instead of playing politics.
So Tim Mueller
was the 2nd Sheriff to voice opposition to gun control after that Kentucky guy. Is he using the SWAT team to bust down people's doors [still - I'm assuming]?

Yeah, I don't think of him as
Yeah, I don't think of him as being much different than the average Sheriff. I wouldn't smoke pot or drive faster than the government deems safe, in front of one of his men.

Steven Kieliszewski - Ran UNOPPOSED
I can't find a general totals so will have to add them all up.

As far as information about the candidate he's probably not very constitutional since they are constructing new jails:

Depending on population going up against a previously unopposed sheriff could be our best bet.

Alpena County MI
I have some connections up that way, I am currently living in CA, but I can ask around about him for you and see what the mood about him is from the few people I know in the area. I also know a few people in Oscoda county MI. Smaller counties like these might be easier places to start.
