What If The Pretend Sequester Shutdown Is Actually The Real Thing?Submitted by Chris Cheapjackski on Mon, 03/18/2013 - 23:32
Symbolized by the White House tour shutdown, and manifesting in reality as funding cuts for programs in every state, the pretend shutdown of federal services is serving well to demonstrate what life would be like if the money stopped flowing altogether.
But maybe it isn't temporary.
Perhaps the so-called 'sequester' debacle isn't just another hurdle that will eventually be overcome, to be repeated again all too soon with a slightly different form and a sexy new name. What if they've run out of sexy new names and fiscal band-aids? What if this 'fiscal cliff' isn't just another false alarm?
What if this time it's real?
