Very Weird Ending to a Nice Interview

I posted a topic for this last night, but it bothered me so much that I quickly deleted it. It was so strange it scared me.

What the %$#@ happened at the end?
EDIT: Things are much clearer now. Thanks to all your helpful responses, I've gone from being totally bewildered to laughing out loud.

He tripped over his words,
He tripped over his words, but clearly he intended to say "we gotta go with somebody who can be real fast."
It came out like "we gotta go...uh, somebody for...we can be real fast." The "for...we" ran together very quickly, as one word.
Dr. Paul does this a lot, where he cuts himself off in the middle of words to reformulate a better sentence. It's just one of his mannerisms.
It also sounds like he needed to blow his nose. I've noticed he sounds like he has a cold lately. Probably a combination of little sleep and frequent changes in temperature/weather as he travels.
Nothing to see here folks. :-)

Liberty for Dummies
I think
He thought he heard them ask if they could have one more question...
to which he responded something like "one more but we have to go real fast..."
I wrote to KCRA about this interview...
I thanked them for the interview, but I told them that they need to address him as Dr. Paul, Congressman Paul, or Mr. Paul, BUT NOT RON!! I asked them if the anchor was his fishing buddy or something, and if not, then he needs to address him with the same level of respect as ANY OTHER CANDIDATE running for president.
Writing all these letters is getting exhausting, but we have to keep these people in check, and let them know we're watching.
For Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of HAPPINESS! ~ RON PAUL 08
I think it was...
"we gotta go, so if its, uh, gonna be real fast!"
I believe he heard her asking for one more question.
It was just confusion
I think someone in the room was speaking to him and he was responding to them and the reporters and, well, it was just weird.
At least it was a silly question, so it doesn't really matter!
Go Giants!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat meat!
I think this is what he said
This segment starts at 4:54 in the above mentioned youtube video.
Female Reporter: "A quick one, switching gears. Who do you like for the Super Bowl?"
Ron Paul: "We gotta go uhh somebody speak to me real fast."
I'm seeing a lot of different text versions here. Maybe we hear what we want to hear?
ok this is exact
ok this is exact transcript
Female "reporter": "A quick one switching gears, who do you like for the superbowl?"
Ron Paul: We gotta go with somebody that can be real fast!

Thanks
That might be what he said. It's like we're trying to decipher song lyrics now. As long as that was English and not gibberish coming out of his mouth, it's alright with me. I wouldn't blame Ron if he didn't know anything about the Super Bowl. I've been following him and this campaign so closely, I didn't even know who was going until I watched the NY Giants win today. Mind you, that was the first football game I've seen all season. LOL.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, thats hillarious
one of the things i LOVE saying about ron paul is that its the message. ron isnt very carismatic, hes not the best speaker but he still has this revolution behind him so LOOK IT UP.
hahahah, now thats funny. of course im more than a few beers in
Thanks Guys
Thanks for your responses. I went back to listen to it more carefully, and it seems that he did say "We gotta go, so...but if it could be REAL FAST!" He just said it in such a staccato, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fashion. LOL. It's obvious he was distracted by an aide in his ear piece. Thanks for helping me clear this up.
I have to admit
That's a little funny. It sounded like he just repeated back exactly what his aid said to him off camera, although I can't understand all of what he says. At least the reporters were professional about it and made a joke about the Cowboys.
Maybe a better answer would have been...
...it's on Fox...so who cares?
If he responded like that...
...this would be the #1 Ron Paul Youtube video for weeks.
ROTFLMAO!!
I WOULD HAVE LOVED THAT RESPONSE!!!!
Excellent!!!... and I prby won't even watch most of it myself...
Here... THE PATRIOTS WIN.... there... now ya dont need to watch!!
He diden't hear the whole question!
I think it's that simple. It sound like he is only answering to the first part of the question because of the time delay from the moment the question is asked and the time RP hears it in the studio he sits at. So he answers to the incomplete question and says something like: it's gotta be real fast because we gotta go. And because of the time delay RP actually misses the end of the question (probably not even hearing it) because he is still answering the first part. And then the reaction from the reporters is a misunderstanding why RP answered like he did, thinking he didn't want to answer the Super Bowl question. The women start to laugh and RP says: I'm sorry, replying to what he thought that they laughed at, him not having time for more questions. Just a simple misunderstanding and time delay of sound that makes this ending of the clip weird.
But the rest of the interview is great!!!
Lol! Poor guy...that just
Lol! Poor guy...that just shows he is more concerned about the race than anything else. I would not have known either i dont watch football! This just makes me like him more. he is 100% real. Good man.
I heard
"ok really fast" in response to" oh...one more thing, Dr Paul" rather than the actual question- like it was a simple issue of time delay. I didnt sense he was dodging- but that there was a simple communications glitch.
Actually...
He responded to her saying "OK another quick question..." before he heard her say what the question was, so he said OK but only if it's real fast...because he was out of time....there is a delay if you notice on these types of connections so he jumped the gun on what she said, did not wait for her to finish her sentence, not that he didn't want to answer it.
Still a very nice interview.. People are giving him much more respect now that they have seen his ability to raise money. It doesn't match some of the votes he's gotten.
I think he was listening to an aide saying that he had to go
and didnt hear the actual question. If you look at the daily dose entry for that day Jan 18th
http://people.ronpaul2008.com/campaign-updates/2008/01/18/ge...
you can see that he had back to back interviews. He prob had to go and didn't hear the question from the reporters because his aide said he had to go.
omg....its obvious that ron
omg....its obvious that ron paul doesnt pay much attention to who is playing in the super bowl....he doesnt want to seem to old so he just says a kind of abstract answer......like....somebody real fast!!!.....you know like a grandfather would say....lol.... i think its a plus that he doesnt know much about it....lmao....awesome
T.
I'm sure he just heard...
the first part of the question in his IFB, then he started to respond and didn't hear the actual football question.

Ron Paul for President 2008
I think
I think it's because he isn't used to being asked questions like that. Usually he is on the defensive.
Also, I think he needs a hearing aid.
Yeah I dunno.. something
Yeah I dunno.. something about we gotta go real fast??
