For nearly a decade, Iraq war veteran Tomas Young has been living with his extensive injuries and in chronic pain after being paralyzed in the Middle Eastern country in 2004, four days into his first assignment.
Now, the 33-year-old veteran, who can no longer eat solid food, plans to refuse nourishment in the next few weeks, as he explains he is tired of the chronic pain and the exhaustive struggle of living the way he has.
As one of his final, poignant acts, Young has written a letter to former president George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney accusing them of ‘egregious war crimes of plunder and finally of murder.’
