"Not as fair and balanced as I thought:" Tea Partiers Boycott Fox News

by David Freedlander | Mar 23, 2013 | The Daily Beast

First it was the ‘left’ turn after the election, then Benghazi coverup accusations. Activists have a list of demands for the conservative network, which some say is ‘not as fair and balanced as I thought.’

Is Fox News going soft?

That is what a number of Tea Party activists are saying and they are organizing a boycott to protest the conservative station’s coverage, especially what they view as the network’s relative silence in investigating the attacks on a diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

“Particularly after the election, Fox keeps turning to the left,” said Stan Hjerlied, 75, of Fort Collins, Colo., and a participant in the boycott. He pointed to an interview Fox News CEO Roger Ailes gave after the election in which he said that the Republican Party and Fox News need to modernize, especially around immigration. “So we are really losing our only conservative network.”

The three-day boycott lasted Thursday morning through Sunday morning, and is the second time this group of activists have gone Fox-free in an effort to steer the coverage. Organizers say a two-day boycott earlier this month knocked 20 percent off of the network’s regular viewership. (A Daily Beast analysis of the same data showed that the boycott had little effect.)

The establishment of a Green

The establishment of a Green Zone in Benghazi to protect the US Embassy there was not negotiable with the Libyan militias. The Embassy should not have even been there given the Libyan Civil War going on at the time.

About time

The Tea Party for too long has been outFoxed by the NeoCon Network, which broadcasts controlled opposition to ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, but promotes the same statist, Zionist agenda of the Right-Left Establishment political machine.

You don't get it. Fox News IS "Fair & Balanced"...to the

"Establishment/TPTB's" favor, that is.

You dont have to get your

You dont have to get your news from the tv or newspapers anymore. Have these people heard of a new thing called the internet?

Conservative Network?

"Have we lost our only conservative network"?

That is funny, Faux = conservative, I felt cramps in my cheeks from laughing so hard, the onion has the talented writers.

Woah! Three whole days! they must have suffered the shakes.

I know my FoxWatchingUncle really gets antsy when he can't watch it. Honestly its a drug.

Tea Baggers boycott the dollar.

Now that would be something worth posting about.

Benghazi is a Neo-Con issue

It's also what killed Romney when he just started making traction on the economy, he switches gears and goes on and on about Benghazi.

And it's what Lindsay Graham and John McCain screech about constantly.

how is benghazi a "neocon

how is benghazi a "neocon issue?"

It's a subject Neo-Con pundits, messagers, and mouthpieces

Constantly talk about, it's high on their priority list.

As opposed to it being a sad event, Clinton dropped the ball, make sure it doesn't happen again, and move on.

Well, at least that's the take I have.

I sure hope Rand Paul doesn't get fixated on Benghazi like John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Bill Kristol and the other Neo-Con idiots do.

If Rand Paul had filibustered the Hagel nomination over information about Benghazi no one would "Stand with Rand"....I know I wouldn't.

oh, ok.

i see what you mean. totally agree that the neo-cons are trying to use it to their political advantage.

though i think there's still a big story beyond the neo-con narrative that is allowed to reach tv outlined here: http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/11/04/the-mystery-be...

which is the best explanation of all that nonsense i've come across yet.

shoot me a better article if you're aware of one.

Interesting article

I didn't agree with booting Ghadafi in the first place, the Libyans had the best standard of living by far in all of Africa.

But the CIA has to start arming rebels in non-aligned anti-zionist countries and stirring up the pot. As though these jihadists are any better.

And this after Ghadafi agreed to swear off nukes, even nuclear enrichment. And these same idiot pundits wonder why Iran won't swear off nuclear energy.

The Benghazi theories have a lot of questions, but no answers yet. They are not as well developed as the 9/11 theories for example. (like the controversies over building 7)

John McCain and Lindsay Graham should know better than to waste so much time on questioning Benghazi in public, if they really wanted to know the answers they aren't going to find them on the Hill.

As for Romney, he had a great first debate, and then got fixated on Benghazi by his neo-con masters. It was like he self-deported his brain and became a puppet. Even the left wing media was wondering what he was going on about - "Romney is finally beating Obama, and he goes half cocked and starts droning on and on about Benghazi...why didn't he stick to the economy?" That's about the gist of what they were saying, and it is entirely true.

What happened in Benghazi

What happened in Benghazi Libya is not political, it's a consequence of US Foreign Policy.

FOX is tasked to perpetuate

FOX is tasked to perpetuate the myth of "Terrorism". Terrorism is s tactic, you can't win a war against a tactic. "Al-Qaeda"(Arabic language), "The Base" in English, is a creation of the CIA, and funded by the CIA. They are just local militia groups from various Muslim countries and payed mercenaries for destabilization of countries.

We have to stop calling every act of Muslim militia group revenge Al-Qaeda and an act of terror to justify the perpetual war. It's just so childish. By this logic, the SPLC will be calling US Patriots Al-Qaeda pretty soon. Or maybe we should just start calling ourselves, "The Base".

What is a fox news?

Have not looked at the "programming" for years.

In 2008 Fox News cut a very important moment for RP out of their replays of one of the debates back then. Their loaded question backfired, the crowd loved RP's response, so Fox cut his response out of the replay.

Then CPAC a few years ago... the videos posted online, cheering Dr. Paul, did not match up with what Fox ran on their network in which they reported he was booed.

From 2001 to 2008 I was probably Fox's biggest fan... until I woke up. I never watch them anymore. Fox News has not deserved our support as viewers for a long time.

Maybe the Tea Party is finally wising up.

Fox News has never been anything more than a mouthpiece for the GOP establishment.

FOX News should talk more

FOX News should talk more about this angle we already knew about Benghazi. The unauthorized CIA annex was being kept secret from the Libyan government. The Administration wanted to keep the annex a secret.
