Rand Paul Makes Case For ‘Libertarian Approach’ On Fox: ‘Marriage-Neutral’ Tax Code, Don’t Jail Pot Users, Etc.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday this morning, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) made the case for his “libertarian Republican approach,” reiterating his belief that the GOP can appeal to a wider base of Americans by, among other suggestions, taking a principled stand for “the right to trial by jury,” getting the government to take a “neutral” stance on marriage, reforming immigration, and relaxing rules against marijuana use and other nonviolent crimes.

The mainstream media is

The mainstream media is trying to nail Senator Rand Paul to the Left Right Paradigm Cross. Paul refuses to be crucified.

Rand Paul is important to the ideas of Liberty

He is forcing the powerful elite in Washington DC to discuss controversial ideas and answer questions that are known to be politically polarizing. So far, Rand is able to respond in a measured and coherent manner to "gotcha" questions from other Senators and the media. I wouldn't have the patience to sit in front of a camera for 3+ hours a day and politely answer the same question 15 times.

As long as he maintains his current demeanor, liberty ideas will continue to be discussed in the more traditional media formats-this is good for liberty as most people in America still believe in the idea of freedom!

Keep up the momentum for Rand and call your Congressional representatives on th issues Rand is discussing.

Rand front page of Drudge and

Rand front page of Drudge and Huffington post. A neutral approach to marriage = States rights issue. Talks about the left right paradigm they're trying to pin him to, with the MSM having a difficult time with it nailing him to it.

Rand Paul Did More Damage to TPTB Than You Can Possibly Imagine

Wishy washy Rand. I'm not

Wishy washy Rand. I'm not enthused or impressed.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

the federal war on drugs has proven costly and ineffective, whil

e creating terrible violent crime. But if you question policy, you are accused of being pro-drug. That is preposterous. there is a better way — through local laws, communities, churches, and families — to combat the very serious problem of drug abuse than a massive federal-government bureaucracy. ron paul in an interview with abc's john stossel discusses legalization of drugs and the failure of the drug war:

Ooh, a tax code? Magnanimous "no jail" promises from the State?

Such a hero. Hey, everyone, you might get permitted the things that no one was ever in a position to prohibit in the first place. Feel lucky?

And your approach?

It's to bitch about the politicians actually attempting to change things. Yeah, because that really makes a difference. Good job, keep up the good work.

Standard fallacy

"You must offer a solution or refrain from criticism."

Stop being a slave, fool.

Let me put it this way

Did you or do you support Ron Paul?

Why? What did he accomplish in politics other than to have the Republicans and Democrats dismiss him?

If you did support Ron then there really is no intelligent reason not to support Rand at least on an issue or two. Rand might actually get one of his bills passed, unlike Ron.

Based on your comments though, I'd have to assume that you didn't support Ron either, because you make it quite clear that politics is a waste of time. So then I'll ask you, why are you even here? My bother to dissuade people from supporting Rand?

Why not use your efforts do do something else in SUPPORT of liberty, if you even care about liberty at all.

Seriously, why are people like you even on the DP? THE DAILY PAUL, named after Ron Paul, the father and teacher of the man you are dismissing.

Go ahead and complain, but that means he's doing something wrong, so what is it that he's doing wrong?

Enlighten us.

Well it's obvious that in your opinion Rand Paul is doing it wrong. So in order to do something wrong there must be a right way to do it.

So what's the right way if Rand Paul is wrong.

There is no fallacy there, it's you making accusations against Rand Paul and those who support him.

What should we be doing instead? Calling people fools on the internet?

he's no ron paul

but he is the next best thing right now.

Rand Paul 2016

Wow, and I thought Bill

Wow, and I thought Bill Clinton was a smooth talker.

I really like Rand Paul's tone, and balanced speech. He answers hard questions quite easily, and most importantly comes across as being an honest, smart, and pragmatic man who is able to articulate an appealing message outside of the typical left right box that so many Americans are sick and tired of.

Chris Wallace made an excellent point when he mentioned how the Attorney General's letter to Rand Paul left a gaping loophole surrounding the issue of drones targeting Americans.

I was very impressed with the question, surprisingly, and was very impressed with Rand Paul's answer.

However....Rand's recent position on abortion was not mentioned.

If marriage is a State issue as Rand Paul said, is "Life at conception," a state issue as well, or should it be Federal?

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Had to Turn it Off

That pompous "news" shill speaks as if he is authority...reading his scripted statements as they are fact. The guy does NO research, ZERO, And people look to him for information? He reads a script. Those multi billion dollar "news" networks are very clever in manipulatation.

Had to turn it off when they threw Rubio reading a scripted speech into the mix. Rubio can be bought out and will be if he's in the running for pres. They already pushing him...they don't mention Rand without mentioning and showing glossed over moments of Rubio. To the contrary when they talk about just the volume of times the names are presented in the "news" channels, yes all 5. It doesn't happen by is literally brainwash from the power elite who control the so called "news".

Longer version

Mediaite version as Youtube

The problem with the longer version is that the sound gets out of sinc at some point of the video

I wish that Ron Paul would have gotten this kind of hyping after his CPAC victories. There is a huge difference how the MSM treats Rand in comparison to Ron Paul.

"Air is the very substance of our freedom, the substance of superhuman joy....aerial joy is freedom."--Gaston Bachelard--

Rand Paul is better at

Rand Paul is better at handling the media than Ron Paul, which is why Rand Paul gets better coverage. Media tried all kinds of dirty tricks and failed when Rand was running for Senate. Rand is more aggressive in attacking opponents while Ron Paul doesn't engage in attacking individuals, but only attacks the system.

Excellent observation

Everyone seems to revel in complaining about how Rand is not Ron. Well that's obvious because if Rand was Ron then we would have no ally in the Senate right now, he never would have won. Rand is just playing nice until opportunity presents itself. I'd prefer if the Rand detractors just quit the political debate they demand is useless anyway. Their resources would be better served doing what they feel is the best course of action instead of complaining about Rand who is definitely not the typical politician.
