Whoa! NYC Mayor Bloomberg: Government Has Right to "Infringe on Your Freedom"

By Cheryl K. Chumley | The Washington Times | Monday, March 25, 2013

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said on Sunday: Sometimes government does know best. And in those cases, Americans should just cede their rights.

“I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom,” Mr. Bloomberg said, during an appearance on NBC. He made the statement during discussion of his soda ban — just shot down by the courts — and insistence that his fight to control sugary drink portion sizes in the city would go forth.

An open declaration of war against the U.S. Constitution

One last note :

seriously, to he/she who cares at minima about the meaning of words, traitor Bloomberg's statements are an open declaration of war against the U.S. Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights, to begin with.

He, they, traitors, don't even bother disguising their thoughts or intents any longer. They now put it in plain, unambiguous English.

I know this is done on purpose. They are gauging the remnants of this country. And this is getting LOCAL now.

The Founding Fathers must be turning in their graves.

WATCH OUT.

A lot more is coming to us.

Their testing and treason against the People can only but steadily intensify from now on.

Now that makes perfect sense about New York.

Well, now nothing will surprise me about the current and future obliteration of New Yorkers' rights and freedoms.

To Mr. Mayor Michael Bloomberg :

To Mr. Mayor Michael Bloomberg :

And I do think there might be certain times when the people would feel like getting at traitors like you to hang'em high without any due process, without trial, just following YOUR VERY LOGIC, Sir.

Thoughts ? How would THAT work for you, Sir ?

"Fair enough", I assume ?

NOT.

Truth is, Mr. Bloomberg : you have confirmed yourself as A DISGRACE to your country and to the People.

Tyrant Alert

Like all wannabe autocrats, Bloomberg is a threat to personal freedom and responsibility.

Seems to me this guy is

Seems to me this guy is trying to hard to pick a fight with the people. Maybe NYC is the test balloon to try out all the fancy new equipment DHS is stockpiling and to send a message to the rest of the people. If NY people revolt and get locked down and subjugated they think that will scare the rest of the states into complicity.

First I think they are under estimating the people of NY and they will not win. And they are most definitely under estimating many of the rest of the states. None of that shit would fly in Idaho or Montana and several southern states among others. Bloomberg would likely be hanging from a lamp post somewhere by now...

How Complacent Can We Be?

How can the public stand to not protest in the streets because of such tyranny? Is there any hope for a public that tolerates this?

Too Much Fluoride Water

No wonder their brains are soft, they've had fluoridated water in NYC for many, many years and we should all know that it produces obedient slaves!

Jersey Shore.... I think that

Jersey Shore....

I think that says it all, but you can add in American Idol, CSI, McDonald's, KFC, the NFL, Facebook, Twitter, the Kardashian Twins, Dancing With The Stars, and Mike and Molly too.

Is there any hope? Just ask the souls of those who fought and died in the American Revolution. They were not the majority. They were the vast minority, but they eventually won the battle for the hearts and minds of the American people....and that was their biggest victory and accomplishment.

95% of all warfare is fought psychologically, not with bombs and bullets. What matters most is what people think!

England won the military and legal battle of the Revolution, they even burned down the White House in 1812. But they lost the psychological battle that mattered most. Before the American Revolution started, most of the people in the 13 original colonies did not want to revolt against the Crown.

There is hope...in the tireless minority of those who are willing to work for what America has always been...the Opportunistic Land of the Minority.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

When are the People of NYC

When are the People of NYC going to say, "I'm not gonna' take it anymore!" and get this tyrant out of office by making him resign with public pressure? It's the biggest/loudest city in the world, and it shouldn't be difficult to make some peaceful noise!

"Unfortunately NYC does not have a recall law, so we are stuck with Mayor Bloomberg for the next few years, unless of course he decides to allow himself to run for Mayor again."

----------

NYC doesn't need a recall law. All they need is to apply the giant force of public pressure on the Mayor's office. Individuals are more powerful than we think! Pick up the phone, and call Mr. Bloomberg's office, and tell him to politely leave.

So...does this guy wanna take

So...does this guy wanna take up a career as a prison warden?

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

He already has...

the prisoners just don't realize it yet.

Can someone help me out

Can someone help me out here....this is the 2nd time I have seen this, where the Gov't does whatever they want even after the courts ruled against it.
1)Bloomberg tries to ban sugary drinks
2)Courts say, not gonna happen, can't do it. that is illegal.
3)Bloomberg continues to move forward with it.

How is this possible and aren't the cops supposed to step in at this point.....sir what you are doing is now against the law. stop or be arrested. but no one steps in and the Govt keeps going. How is this possible and when did this start?

They just did a similar thing here in Chicago. Courts ruled that citizens can own a gun and can conceal and carry. but our lovely gov't is forging ahead regardless. how is this even possible. Why aren't poeple saying...."Um we can't put this bill forward because the courts just ruled that the people can own a gun".

How is this even possible?

No different than the city of Detroit

overwhelmingly voting against the State run Emergency Manager yet Gov. Snyder (R) does it anyway.....

The World is my country, all mankind is my brethren, to do good is my religion.

If I am not mistaken,

the soda ban was shot down by the courts because it was not a unified law that was equally applied to everyone. And here in IL, that CC law was supposed to go into effect in June, and I think the democrats added a month on to it. If they do not pass a law before then (republicans are holding out for a good bill and will not vote on a bad one period) then what I understand is the people will be able to constitutionally carry.

yes....

it's called tyranny. It will continue until the politician in question fears being hanged.

if the crime justifies the

if the crime justifies the punishment...

A crime of corruption, of the ideals of freedom, gudelined by such text as the constitution and the bill of rights.
Maligned and twisted by those who gain only for themselves or their imediate familiars.
Lies and mistruths with no concern for any possible damaging affects when dealing in a "top down" position of authority
They can be the best of us, they can be the worst of us, one we "live", the other....... repeats history

If you look at wars, what do they have in common.......what is that common denominator?

Name one thing that you are aware of, anything, in recent history, that deals with this common"denominator"?(clue: this should be an easy one)

This should be a fundemental understanding of all who swear on the oath, only by knowing past history, are we able to recognise the pitfulls of the choices yet unmade.......tyranny for the sake of convinient solutions, is not what everyone signed up for in this thing we call life

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

Just one more reason

why I avoid NYC whenever possible

Last time I was there, there were what looked to be soldiers walking around Port Authority with *actual* assault rifles. Wouldn't answer who they worked for.

Between the near-fully militarized police force, all the alphabet agencies, the "ring of steel", the guard towers...New York City has literally become a prison.

A signature used to be here!

Issues Mayor Bloomberg is concerned about

are worth EDUCATING the public about, e.g., risks of smoking, the obesity issue, or some of the negatives about baby formula.

Unfortunately, the mayor doesn't believe in EDUCATION - or more than 25% of the city's children would be graduating ready for college or employment (in jobs where you'd need to be able to read, write, and do basic math calculations). Guess if you're going to keep 75% of your young adults ILLITERATE, you feel a responsibility to run their lives for them!

Oh really, and would

Oh really, and would Bloomberg please tell me what gives him this right to deny other people their rights. I wasn't aware that Mr. Bloomberg was God.

I wonder if...

I wonder if Bloomberg would support a law that his wife could force him to eat, drink, exercise... anything she felt would be for his better health, as long as she could make an effective case. Would he support that?

"Hell, no. She has no right..."

How about his mom?

Exactly.

Does that include his freedoms

as well?

Or is he outside the collective good?

We all know this guy is a

We all know this guy is a douche....

I only have a couple problems with this article.

First, no where in the quotes does it say that Americans should just cede their rights.

Second, no where in the article does it say that the government say the "right" to take away our rights. I think it shouldve been worded "power" to take them away. The only power that man has, is that power that the citizens of NY let him have.

Third, the court struck down the law, and most places didnt follow it anyway.

how is this different from any other politician

Rights

It has been said that our rights are only as good as our ability to defend them. I thought the state existed to defend those rights for us...
