Tent Cities in U.S. While We Give Billions Away In Foreign Aid

In 2010 the U.S. gave away some 55 Billion dollars to countries all over the world.

In addition to all the homeless - many of them veterans - there is always the subject of the abject poverty in hundreds of U.S. inner cities.

Not that I believe in government welfare at all, but since we do it anyway, I ask a simple question; HOW can our government justify giving away one PENNY to ANY foreign nation while our own citizens live this way?

And the ultimate irony is that most of our homeless people paid taxes at one time WHICH WERE USED TO GIVE AWAY AS FOREIGN AID!

WHERE THE HELL IS THE OUTRAGE over this???

I can't be the ONLY one who sees the immoral, un-constitutional and criminal nature of what our congress does with our tax money, when they give it away by the billions and billions every year.

Rotten organizations like U.S.A.I.D. petition congress for the funds and congress always approves it.

Then it goes to foreign governments who ultimately don't even feed their people with it, but use it to strengthen their hold on the populace.

And does anyone wonder why during this "sequestration" that foreign aid has not even been mentioned?

While they cut more domestic things like air traffic control and White House Tours???

We have become de-sensitized

We have become de-sensitized to the plight of our neighbors because the majority are under constant pressure.

The problem is that we all face similar challenges and if we don't face them together nothing changes.

I would like to see a weaker Washington, stronger States and functional local representation. Today we have the opposite.

The solution is very simple...End ALL foreign aid to ALL nations

That is the first thing which should have been cut in the sequester.

How dare they cut any domestic spending before ending all foreign spending?

The logic could not be simpler.

It's because a lot of the foreign aid we give has to be spent on U.S. made military weapons - which in turn can and will be used on our own military.

But Americans just seem to be completely oblivious about it.

Starve the Beast

We have tied too many jobs to the military industrial complex. Now the argument is you can't cut military spending because you are cutting jobs.

My point - Washington is sucking the country and its citizens dry. We need to starve the beast and keep our money close to home.

This is neither hypocrisy nor lack of common sense.

This foreign aid is a crime against humanity.

If only the MSM would cover the Obamavilles like Studs Turkel documented in the 30's Who is the Studs Terkel of today?

Think of "Foreign Aid" as a euphemism for...

bribing foreign governments.

That's really what it is, it's financial incentive to go along with US foreign policy.

It's a gang of thieves here stealing from you, to pay off some gang of thieves over there, to look the other way.

Or it can also be, a gang of thieves here, paying another gang of thieves to do their bidding over there.

WHERE THE HELL IS THE OUTRAGE over this???

If I had a nickel for every time I read that I'd be pretty well off.

You only find tent cities in urbanized areas. In the country and here in the desert this class of fold are distributed here, there and everywhere. There's people sleeping all over town, all over the mountains surrounding town, out in the desert in every conceivable shelter. And this has been going on since time immemorial but these days you can imagine this population growing.

Where is the outrage? Hmmmm....stifled on the one hand by GOP orthodoxy and milked on the other by liberal orthodoxy.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

My question was - Where is the outrage over foreign aid...

...not over the Tent Cities.

Those are actually a somewhat decent idea to help homeless Americans cope.

The outrage is that we give away even a PENNY of foreign aid because NOWHERE in the Constitution - that I can find - does it authorize our government (meaning CONGRESS) to take money from its citizens through force (taxation) and REDISTRIBUTE it to foreign overnments.

U.S.A.I.D. should be shut down - and then prosecuted for TREASON.

HELLO

The pigs that run stuff caused this BS by raping the public in the first place! What makes you think they want to fix it? There is nothing FAIR when it comes to the gov'ment. Get out of that mindset. It goes WAY beyond that!

skippy

I realize the point, but

I realize the point, but please dont fall into the trap that money = happiness or throwing money at problems solves them. Dignity Village is a success story.

Lets be clear here.....

WE don't give anything. It's the Government acting in sync with powers behind the scenes to funnel money to these other countries for God knows what reasons. Sure, the government constantly is robing us blind.... just taking what it wants. But government is nothing more than a grouping of people. That's pretty much it.

All this foreign aid isn't even foreign aid, it's bribes and payoffs in the form of foreign aid. It's also probably related to maintaining the dollar as the reserve currency of the world..... just guessing...

But in all reality, yes, it would be better to help those here, except TPTB don't give a rats behind about poor needy people here or anywhere else for that matter. TPTB only care about themselves and acquiring MORE power unlawfully by stealing it from WE!!! And WE need to do something about that because criminals, even if in government, will not stop unless forced to stop.

exactly

right on... very true...

Buy up as much power as possible with dollars out of nothing. Neat trick.

Good post.

Surperbly stated. I'm TOTALLY against the welfare state but when the money is being stolen and handed out...it makes ZERO sense for it to go to other countries when so many people here in the US are being driven into poverty by the criminals at the FED...amoung others.

One of these days I'm going to stand outside one of the many...

...tent cities in the Seattle area with a big sign stating how much foreign aid money the U.S. gives away each year.

One of these days.

Like the "Hoovervilles" from

Like the "Hoovervilles" from the Depression. Maybe they should call them "Bernankevilles".

...I like that!

But that rat would say everything's great.
