The Beginning of The End For Bachmann? Congressional Ethics Probe Adds To Michelle Bachmann's Political Woes

by John Avlon | Mar 25, 2013 | The Daily Beast

The Hindenburg. The Titanic. Michele Bachmann.

Eighteen months ago, the Minnesota House member was considered an unlikely but undeniable Republican rising star, winning the Iowa straw poll that unofficially begins the primary season. Today, she is embroiled in a litany of legal proceedings related to her rolling disaster of a presidential campaign—including a Office of Congressional Ethics investigation into campaign improprieties that has not previously been reported.

The Daily Beast has learned that federal investigators are now interviewing former Bachmann campaign staffers nationwide about alleged intentional campaign-finance violations. The investigators are working on behalf of the Office of Congressional Ethics, which probes reported improprieties by House members and their staffs and then can refer cases to the House Ethics Committee.

“I have been interviewed by investigators,” says Peter Waldron, a former Bachmann staffer who’s embroiled in his own fight with his former boss, involving his allegations of pay-to-play politics and improper payments by the campaign—making him one of several members of Bachmann’s inner circle who’ve fallen out with the woman they once hoped would become commander in chief. While he was careful to avoid specifics in regard to the investigating body, Waldron said that “investigators came [and] interviewed me and are interviewing other staff members across the country.”

My biggest complaint is the dual citizenship angle

I don't think our federal representatives should hold allegiance to foreign nations. Maybe I'm just weird that way.

How ironic and hypocritical that any Congress lately

or within say the last 200 years would convene a probe into one of their own..The whole freaking bunch, with a few exceptions are over ripe for a prison cell..But every now and then they need to make a sacrifice to keep their own skeletons in the closet..

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

I'm Canadian...by your logic,

I'm Canadian...by your logic, I can't be a federal rep?

David Earl Williams III for Congress

Sure you can, in Canada

Or you can renounce your Canadian citizenship and become a 100% American to prove your loyalty, worth, dedication, etc. to the office you seek to represent.

Shoot, how many do we already have up there who are dual Israeli citizens? There ought to be no questions as to who's pulling the strings, but the globalists seek to obliterate nation-states and create this gray citizen of the world deal.

Playing Dirty

Campaign finance rules are AWFUL. If you are a deep-pockets candidate, you can hire an expert to keep you in compliance, and if you're unprincipled or consider the rules null and void (unconstitutional) you can bend or break at your own risk.

However, if you are a citizen candidate, a novice, trusting, understaffed, or a regular person, it's a minefield of regulations and red tape, and very, very difficult to follow.

One of the easiest things to do is request copies of the paperwork (they're often posted online), and go through them for violations, and then file complaints with the enforcing agency. You can get candidates into trouble easily. The question becomes, "should you?"

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Bachmann, tool of the conspiracy...

I personally could care less what Bachmann knew and when she knew it. The bottom line is she short-circuited the Ron Paul 2012 campaign in its critical early stages in Iowa. Without her Ron Paul wins the Ames Iowa Presidential straw poll by a hefty margin.

In that case Rick Santorum can not afford to lie low waiting to ambush Ron Paul at the last moment. If he had been forced to go head to head with Ron in Iowa months before the Iowa caucuses he would have been obliterated.

Now that the political damage is done, they can continue to use Bachmann as their "Tea Party" village idiot/ punching bag.

The Virtual Conspiracy

Ehh. She collects children. D'you expect good behavior as well?

Ehh. She collects children. Do you expect good behavior from people who do that?

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

Last month, in a meeting with Bernanke, she really went after...

...him and the Fed. I mean it was impressive! And I'm no fan of hers after she turned on Dr. Paul like a snake.

She probably ruffled some feathers.

So I'm sure the Fed wants her gone.

And what the Fed wants - the Fed gets.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

I was thinking the same thing

She really did question Bernanke good

Only the most corrupt become president

She tried.

we can only hope.

we can only hope.

She's a christian she can't possible do anything wrong ever. I mean Jesus is her best friend and all.

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

Part of the gospel message is

Part of the gospel message is that you can't get to heaven on your own.

It isn't a message of being perfect, but that you are a sinner.

Most people (the broad path) will never accept this or a Savior who paid the price for what they couldn't.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

In Name Only...- Anybody can call themselves a Christian

I never thought of her as a Christian...Only a hypocrite..She acts more like a Sad You See

She'll Think Twice

Next time, she will think twice about how she talks to Bernanky.

It's nice to know the Feds are on the job, exposing and weeding out any corruption in politics (NOT).

Correct Spelling is .. Bernanke!

Not that it matters a whole hellava lot..

Just saying..
