How Come Nobody Thinks The Stuff I Post Matters?

I keep posting threads here that I think are important yet they seem to just hit bottom like a rock. I am not wanting kudos, or recognition or any acceptance whatsoever. I just want to get info out that I think is important to the liberty movement. Somehow though, nobody even bothers to read or watch the stuff I post for the most part. Am I out of touch with what matters or is it the way I present it? I have the same problem trying to talk to people about what is going on out there. They don't want to hear it. Please give me some insight as to what the heck I do wrong so I can make a difference for the better. I have posted threads of all kinds. I get next to no views. Are they not important or what? Please tell me. I really want to be able to alert people to important stuff. Thanks

Hahahahahahahah!

Great thought! Okay, I will start my threads with, "Bigfoot Wins Princess Bride Thanks to BIG FOOT" HARRRAHAAARRRRAHARRRR, no but really, I only mean to inform and hope for input. I don't want to earn points or recognition. If I did I sure wouldn't post a thread asking what the heck is wrong with my threads and asking for advice on how to present info! Thanks for the laugh!

I feel the same way Skippyd

One thread of mine should concern all anarcho-capitalists, a book by Dr. Steven Pinker called "Better Angels of our Nature". That book puts forth so much data that its a real argument for Leviathan and so it should be hotly discussed. Instead, blank out. It was down voted so fast and no one had time to read and discuss it.

And one essay of mine, should have been front page ... but not a chance.
And I have been at it for 5 years...

So you are not doing to bad with just one year under your belt.

Keep up the good work,
Treg

Probably wrong timing. If

Probably wrong timing. If news flows fast, your thread may end up on the bottom in no time. Or sometimes, the day is slow and people only end up flocking to threads that have provocative titles.

I also notice you never bump your own threads. I would advise you to do so. I posted my first thread not so long ago and if I hadn't strategically bumped it a few times, it would have gotten 2 or 3 votes, but it managed to get 32 upvotes in the end. Bumping matters (in moderation of course).

Can you tell us how we can

Can you tell us how we can tell if someone bumped their own thread? Just curious.

I'll assume you are rather

I'll assume you are rather new at this, so excuse me if I come over as captain Obvious.

Just look at who posted the thread and who bumped the thread. If people bump a thread, they will say that they did so most of the time and say "bump". This can be someone else, but can also the thread poster.

Sometimes, a thread poster can bump his own thread without it being obvious. He will merely reply to his own thread, without saying "bump". This will put his thread back on the top page.

Bumping isn't wrong. But doing it excessively can cause iritation. Wouldn't bump (either blatant by saiying "bump" or by doing it stealth as described above) a thread more than 3 times.

Bump My Own Threads

Really? Okay, if you say so. It just never felt right. Thanks for the response.

Wrong. 30,000 Google Hits, 2013 alone. You are not alone!

Thank you Samuel C

You HAVE cheered me with your fun response to my dilemma. I appreciate that BUT must tell you that I am relieved that the skippy you are referring to isn't me! I would hate to be all over google. Bugs me enough that they take pictures of my backyard to put on google maps without asking my permission. Anyway, thanks for the hahah! I needed it.

Cheers.

Verily I go.

Why Does Everyone Miss the POINT?

I don't CARE about hits, or MOSTS or any of that stupid crap. I want the INFO to be seen and read! THAT'S ALL! WHY is THAT so hard to comprehend? Are there THAT many people here that worry about their ratings? GEEZ! PLEASE just understand that I care about the INFORMATION! If there is any selfishness on my part it is thinking that the INFO is important. Maybe it isn't! What do I know? Maybe having Monsanto take over the government doesn't matter, maybe the history of how the elite took over the world doesn't either. Maybe I am just stupid for thinking I have learned important stuff and want to share it.

skippy

You miss the point

Based on your most recent posts, most of what you submit IS already seen and read by a lot of people, none of whom have *any* reason to see and read it through your submissions here. Do you really think anyone who reads this site needs your posts to find links on infowars.com?

The one thing you actually had personal insight to share, that could have been popular, you provided zero insight and instead just insulted the readership of this site.

MAYBE, the users of this site already saw most of the material you're linking to. MAYBE, they'll respond if you post something original. I also suspect that if you emulate the style of rhetoric used by Ron Paul the users of this site will respond positively.

Is it possible that what you

Is it possible that what you are choosing to post information that is new to you, but has been posted here and discussed in the past so much that other DPers are passing your posts by? No disrespect intended, but could you be preaching to the choir? The two examples you cite - Monsanto's cronism and the history of the globalist agenda - have been discussed here over and over. For me, knowing these kinds of dire truths is what has brought me here, seeking kindred souls, in the first place. I have a feeling if you found some leading edge news that you would make the front page in a heart beat...

If my need to be RIGHT is greater than my desire for TRUTH, then I will not recognize it when it arrives ~ Libertybelle

I don't miss the point...

I want the info disseminated and referred over and over for education and enlightenment...ratings = idea of this hope!

Fight on fellow DP'er.

See how you can make you point clear.

Take note of how much we missed the mark.

HUH?

Oh haha

skippy

Look at Search Engine scoring sites.

Just read you prior reply about "most." Ok. Much of this may be dismissed as well. I addressed what you wrote in your forum post. Hope this helps others.
==================================================================

They will show you what folks are searching on a given site, topic, location, or any of the five or six senses you have.

See: Google Trennds

Consider what folks are searching for:

How to Improve Search Engine Ranking

  1. Research the keywords. Decide what search queries you want to show up for. Do some research on how many people are actually searching for your site... Google, Overture, and third party software developers that can make the keyword research process easier.
  2. Target niche keywords with low competition. Try to use Google Adwords to check how competitive before deciding on it. Be sure that the keywords has enough searches. Try using broad key words too
  3. Think outside of the box. Don't just focus on your main keywords. The first thing to realize when targeting keywords is that it is not all about ranking for the most popular keyword. The most successful search engine marketing and optimization campaigns target the most relevant keywords. For example, if you are a realtor in a particular area, don’t just optimize your site for “real estate." Optimize your site for dentist, florist, movie theaters, etc. ...
  4. Focus on the end user. Think about what your target market needs to accomplish their goals, and then put it on your site so that they can find it... If you want to be relevant for specific keywords, than you need superior or at least highly competitive content. Write about 225-300 words of copy for each keyword and plant it on your site each day... On average, one can target between 3-5 like keyword phrases per page. Make it as natural as possible and the Search Engines will reward you... [Find you.]
  5. 6 more at link...

Best wishes. I would say more, but perhaps less is better.

NOW You Are Starting To Freak Me Out

I am on google? I will have to research this crap. Hope you are wrong but fear you are right.

skippy

I think the fact...

that search engine optimization "freaks you out" and your lack of knowledge of it, gives us all a little insight into why your posts don't get much attention.

But, seriously if you want more people to see your posts, then instead of posting late at night, try posting them during the day when traffic on this site is higher.

Try to stay away from bland titles, maybe try using a question as your title, to hook a reader and get them to answer it in a reply.

Did you notice how this post got a lot of attention and you asked a question in the title?

Also, encourage discussion in your post, ask readers what they think and ask them to post their opinions.

Discussion keeps a thread in the active forum topics, if the thread isn't active it's not going to get many views.

Skippy D, I think sometimes

Skippy D, I think sometimes it's just timing. At times, someone will post something and there will be zero response. Someone else will come along a few days later, post the exact same thing, and get 80 up votes.

In addition, I quickly looked at your past posts and I saw you had 46 up votes for the Stossel video. That seems pretty good to me.

I think you should continue to do your part. You'll win some, and lose some.

You asked: How do you make difference? Keep chugging along doing the best you can. That's what Dr. Paul has done for decades.
