Let us think about the web site called Daily Paul

I don't know if I have ever come across another site like this. Think about it.....

It's unique, no other site has attracted such a diverse group of thinking and non thinking minds to cover some of the most important taboos of the modern day.

Discussions on liberty, freedom, and self preservation. But there is more, we discuss religion, sex, violence, choice, survival, farming, health, comedy, personal struggles and much more. It's like thousands of Abby's responding to a dear Abby letter.

But the best part is no matter what is posted, what is deemed unacceptable, who comments and who doesn't or whether its front page or not....it's a a free exchange of ideas and thoughts unregulated ( for the most part) .

You can park here all day or drop in between breaks at work or just visit now and then. You can add two cents or not (literally and figuratively).

It is a great example of freedom and free will.....and everything you see here is something that occurred in one beings mind or soul and has been document and translated via electronic means to this forum where another being interprets it and absorbs it into their mind or soul which causes a reaction. Perhaps precipitates an action on their part....

Sweet site and is one of kind....

Skippy d is probably so pissed off!

If only skippy had come up with this thread he could have gotten a lot of up votes and pulled himself out of his funk. lol

DP is the 1st link in my "NEWS" tab for exactly that reason

So much knowledge here, it's crazy! Freedom to post and comment on things you agree or disagree with and as a result many get exposed to topics or ways of thinking they never were before.

There are many sites out there that are content aggregators where the admins sort through blog posts and then link to them on their own sites. But the DP has such dedicated members that they post here first and populate the site with an abundance of original thoughts and content.

As someone who works in advertising (and running an aggregate site for a client) I am in awe of the DP community. It cannot be matched, duplicated or imitated.

Thank you, Michael & all the DP'ers!

simple and elegant.

There is gold, and an abundance of jewels;
But the lips of knowledge are a more precious thing.

Great analysis:

I couldn't have said it any better.
For more than five years, I have been coming here and just enjoying almost everything.
Some times getting angry at what's going on, some times laughing my butte off.
Because of the DP, I have helped away many in the process which is good for everyone.
Reading of the personal troubles of others and just learning in general.
If I could fund the whole thing to keep it going, I would.
But I don't know what I would do with out it.
It is most unique.

I love my country
I am appalled by my government

I suggest more user created honor lists front and center.

We lost something great at Youtube with the changes they made. Things don't really go "viral" anymore, because the viral process was born from user created honor lists.

Think "YouBlog" or "YouReport", a place where the best links, independent journalism, and blog posts get promoted and debated using honor lists. There needs to be a public forum where people can go, and not just for one political camp, but for everyone interested in news, politics, and the events of the day.

The world needs a public forum where bad ideas go to die. With enough amateur investigative journalists and "infowarriors" contributing, it could almost pass as a form of free press, and by free, I don't mean you couldn't make a whole lot of money doing it.

Think of it as more like "the drudge report", very clean, but with original content and links. A kind of melding of the old Youtube with the drudge report. Even Matt Drudge "promotes" what he wants rather than what the public is interested in seeing. He's a filter, and he's been filtering out the liberty message for a long time.

Where do YOUR eyes go when you log on; the honor list. People want to know what other people are watching and discussing.

To reach top honors would be like making the front page of the Drudge report, but not just because some guy wanted it to be there.

+ 1

There seem to be two things in my life without which I can't live -- beer and the Daily Paul.

...to all you said! I've learned so much about Liberty and life in general from reading everyone's posts here. Long live the Daily Paul.

Dailypaul carried us through

the days after the 2008 election took the wind out of the sails of many who were new to politics. Going to DP to see if RP was mentioned in the news and checking it to see if and when there would be a 2012 campaign, got to be the first and last thing of the day.

No question, this website needs to get full credit for all it has done.

Thank you very much.

For me it is like popping in to a really cool bar to have a quick cold beer and check out what's been going on. Love this site!

It's funny, some of my friends/colleagues will ask me questions about this or that "story" in the "news". I'm forced to respond that I don't watch the "news" because I don't trust what they have to say. I mostly get funny looks, but sometimes - in very rare moments - I get the nod of agreement.
