Does Anyone Receive Social Security Statements Anymore?...I Don't.

This post addresses a couple of Social Security issues.
---------------------------------
SOCIALIST SECURITY ISSUE NUMBER 1:

It recently dawned on me that I no longer receive Social Security statements in the mail each year (like I used to).

Apparently you have to go online to get this info now - but they never informed Americans of this, and they should have.

Personally I don't think they WANT us to know - or even think about this stuff.

But everyone should keep an eye on what they've earned and paid into the system to make sure there are no errors which could affect your benefits one day.

Here is a link to the SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION Site:
http://www.socialsecurity.gov

In my opinion, Social Security is not an ENTITLEMENT, but rather an INSURANCE POLICY we've been forced to pay the premiums on all our working lives.

Thus we have every RIGHT to collect on it (if we live long enough to do so - which the government hopes we won't).

With that in mind here is...
---------------------------------
SOCIALIST SECURITY ISSUE NUMBER 2:

This is an email going around apparently by an older woman receiving benifits. I find her thoughts to be appropriate on the nature of Social Security...

"THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT'S CALCULATION OF AVAILABLE SOCIAL SECURITY IS THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED A SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK!

WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?

Remember, not only did you and I contribute to Social Security but your employer did, too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500.

Read that again. Did you see where the Government paid in one single penny? We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to insure you and I that we would have a retirement check from the money we put in, not the Government.

Now they are calling the money we put in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it back. If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!

If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.

Another thing with me.... I have two deceased husbands who died in their 50's, (one was 51 and the other one was 59 before one percent of their social security could be drawn. I worked all my life and am drawing 100% on my own social security). Their S.S. money will never have one cent drawn from what they paid into S.S. all their lives.

THE FOLKS IN WASHINGTON HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

Entitlement my foot, I paid cash for my social security insurance! Just because they borrowed the money for other government spending, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!

Remember Congressional benefits? --- free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days.

Now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement payments entitlements?

We're "broke" and we can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, or Homeless. Yet in the last few months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile and Turkey and Pakistan.

Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!! And they can't help our own citizens in New York and New Jersey !

Retired American seniors living on a 'fixed S.S. income' receive no additional federal aid nor do they get any financial breaks, while our government and religious organizations pour hundreds of billions of $$$ and tons of food to foreign countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives, and now, when it's time for us to collect, the government is running out of money.

Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part of the general fund."

I was stunned when my wife passed away

to learn it's a "Finders Keepers" scheme they have going on. She worked steadily her whole life and the only money SS shelled out was a $255.00 survivor benefit. Of course one of the first things Obama proposed during his first term was to eliminate even that paltry sum until some one pointed out that no one would bother reporting deaths to their scheming agency, keeping the accounts open and waiting for fraud.

There are no politicians or bankers in foxholes.

Rather than keep the funds in cash...

They were and are used to buy treasuries each month.

Excellent analysis...

It really ticks me off to hear the propaganda machine talk about "entitlements" like it is a dirty word.

It is NOT a dirty word! They call it entitlements because that is what it is. We EARNED it by PAYING for it. Those bastards in the government that stole it from us will hear from all of us, soon.

I voted you back up because it's an advantage for the government

...to consider it a tax.

just like Obamacare is called a tax now according to the Supreme Court.

So they can call it anything they want but in reality it's forcing American to pay for their retirement because the government has deemed us too stupid to save for ourselves.

But all it would take is one generation of old people living on the street because they didn't manage a retirement and people would learn to do it.

I tried to opt-out and get my money back but they said I couldn't do that.

it's an advantage for the government

to consider it a retirement fund. how many people would agree to pay if it was understood you are not guaranteed anything in return?

i think it has less to do with us being too stupid to save than it does us realizing the dollars we saved have lost their value.

There is no fund.

The money is taken from your check in an itemized fashion, but after that it is deposited in with your FICA, mixed, stir-fried, and spent on wars, welfare, 'entitlement bennies', and pork. The only time that money is separate is when you look at your paycheck stub. It's a dirty trick. But it is just part of your taxes.

Well, it supposedly was originally set up as a retirement...

...plan forced on people by the government.

But it was supposed to be temporary. Only to "get people through the great depression."

But as Reagan said, "There's nothing so permanent as a temporary government program."

You got down-voted for daring to tell the truth.

It is just a damned tricky tax.

Those SS statements were short lived. I think I got them for about 5 or 7 years only.

The government is trying to get out of the post office business now. It served it's purpose for hundreds of years. The State always owns all services that enables it to control the population. Now it can spy on everything you do far easier electronically so it's trying to remove itself from the snail mail business. As for your 'retirement', well, that money was spent stirring up a hornet's nest on the other side of the globe leaving you with untold numbers of enemies. Which further validates my point - they control your communication, security, and 'retirement', among all of your other basic needs.

you got downvoted too.

some people can't let go of the illusion.

BS!

Tax, my ass!

Did they "sell" it as a tax?

And, if they did, was it a tax to be returned to those that paid it in?

If that was a lie then F*** the government!
