Why all the race baiting flaming illegal immigration post. I don't hate brown people.

I just don't feel strongly that the government can handle deporting 11 million people. It all sounds like it will turn out like the Japanese interment camps. I think our stupid immigration laws caused the problem.

Illegal aliens

get plenty of benefits. Be it subsidized housing, Medicaid (or if they do not have it and go to a hospital and can't pay, it is subsidized by the tax payer anyways.) Tax credits galore. I worked with an illegal alien at a temp service who told me he was at the hospital till 1:30 am the night before. I asked him why. He told me his wife just had a kid. I asked him if it was his first one. He said, "No it is my seventh." I was flabbergasted because he was in his early 20's. I asked him how the hell he could afford 7 kids making $600 a week? He told me, "Taxes man, if you want more $ have your girlfriend pop out some kids." I was flabbergasted when I heard him utter those words, especially since he came right out and told me he came here illegally the week before.

No SS#, no benies.....period.

Babies born here can get welfare. You shouldn't mince words. "Aliens" do not get welfare. If you have a problem with Latino babies getting welfare than okay: say that. But don't spread mis-information, please.

The guy I worked with

is a Mexican National, he was not born here, he said he came on a visa and it expired and he never went back. How am I mincing words?

If his babies, who were born here,

get bennies, that does not (by osmosis) mean that he gets them. His babies get them. I know dozens of 'illegals'. I love 'em. Courageous, hardworking, pioneering, fun-loving, and down to earth cool peeps they are. I hate welfare. But they are NOT getting welfare. Your story explained it perfectly. He does not get welfare, his children do. It bugs me. But it bugs me more that libertarians have a problem with freedom. Welfare is the problem, not immigrants.

BTW, they tell me an immigration plan is ready to be passed. They will be fined $500-$1000 to get work permit. If they were here since 2011 they qualify. They can work for ten years (paying SS, fica, MC, and MC) with no bennies expected. After that they may become citizens if they wish. They can visit family South of the border, drive, and have all the human rights we enjoy with their permit. We are happy with it. The thing I like the most is that all the immigrant haters will be pissed about it. The immigrants will be getting ripped off, but they are okay with it because it sucks not to drive and visit home. I know you are not an immigrant hater, so I am sure you will love it too.

You keep calling them

immigrants when in fact they are illegal aliens. Immigration is completely different. How collectivist you are, saying "we love it." By "we" you mean illegal aliens? How do you even know what the bill says, it is over 830 pages long, surely you have not found the time to read it all. And in that bill it gives those who are relatives to illegal aliens who become citizens a right to become citizens as well, along with those who have been deported back to their home country. Right now they say there are 11 million illegal aliens, so if the bill passes, 33 million (just including mother and fathers of the aliens) people will be fresh citizens? Sorry, to me that does not seem right. And no, I am not okay with it.

Dear FreedomIsntAblsolute: (credits to lower poster)

You can call immigrants anything you want. I will do the same.

Just because your tax farmer claims he owns all the subjects between the Rio Grande and the 49th parallel, and all the way from the Atlantic to the Pacific does not in reality mean anything. Just because we (you and I) happened to pop out of our (your and my) mama's womb in the geographic area in which the owners transitorily print the World's reserve currency, does not make us (you and me) have any claim or jurisdiction on any lands, other than what we have purchased or inherited, in the US. Nor does it mean that we (you and I) are more exceptional because we (you and I) get paid roughly ten times the amount that a person just on the other side of the imaginary border earns.

It is funny you call me the collectivist. You think that the location of your and your parents birth gives you extraordinary rights to the use and ethnic exclusivity of the land in an area of 3.79 million square miles. When I used 'we' I was referring to me and my immigrant friends.

It is sad to me the state at which a large portion of Americans find themselves in. They are overweight, demoralized, poor, subservient, naive (it cost them 4 times what it cost an immigrant to live), depressed, and angry while remaining arrogant, aloof, and rude with a sense of American exceptionalism thrown in. They have completely forgotten what made them exceptional (hard work, humility, and rugged individualism). I have far more in common with people who grew up in free and poor countries (it doesn't pay to control poor people). But you seem to think that you should have jurisdiction on my friends. I resent that. I may hate your friends but I will never meet you or them, so I would never want to dictate what you or they do.

As for the bill, the Latino radio and television channels focus on it. That is how I know what I know. Of course nobody really knows but the Latino community is keeping up on it so imo that is the best place to find out. You must not care about the welfare aspect now because I told you that they would be paying SS, MC, MC, and FICA with no bennies at all for ten years. I am sure they will have to participate in Obamafail as well. Before they become citizens after ten years they will have to speak fluent English and pass a tough American propaganda test. You must know about the bill too because you know about the previously deported. They have to have returned and been here since 2011 to be eligible. If they are home they do not qualify, as far as I was told.

Btw, I ran into a Canadian friend yesterday. I was shocked to hear that he returns home for the summer because if he stays here for more than 180 days per year he has to get a visa and pay taxes. OMG! That is not the same as someone living South of the border. They can't no way no how get a visa. I was so shocked. I would like to know more. He told it to me and my Mexican immigrant friend. It made my Mexican friend a bit sad.

If you are in fear of job competition than just admit it. If you just hate the welfare system than admit that. If you do not like brown people admit it. If you think there are too many people living in your area or where you travel, admit that. Look inward and find out what bothers you so much. Perhaps you have a fear of people that appear different than you. A bit of soul searching can do us (the entire world) good.

..oo☮☮☮ⓅⒺⒶⒸⒺ☮☮☮oo..

What bothers me

is the fact that people claim they have a right to live here from all around the world. I am not a "no borders libertarian," and I find that absurd. Sure if there were no borders at all in any country then yea I would support it. However, I cannot just go take up residence in Canada or Mexico on my own accord. I have no problem with "brown" people. My best friend growing up and till this day is "brown." Sure I dislike the handouts. And if anything, the tax deduction for kids should be removed, so as to not reward those who have kids, which would also cause more people to dislike taxes which is always a good thing. But hey, go try to take up residence in Canada or Mexico without going through the proper channels and see how well that works out for you. And then when you are over there, be sure to go protest their govt telling them to give you amnesty. See how well that will work out.

I don't have a problem

with immigration. I do have people being able to come here through open borders. If every country on earth had open borders, then fine, but they don't. Would you be okay if over the course of a decade, 50,000,000 people came here who could vote to take away your freedoms?

LOL

Would you be okay if over the course of a decade, 50,000,000 people came here who could vote to take away your freedoms?

US citizens have already voted away all their own freedoms, no help from immigrants required. And, anyway, what makes you think the average American is any more freedom-loving than the average Mexican?

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

I said illegal

aliens, not Mexican immigrants. I have no problems with people who immigrate. Anyone can come across the border, which is why it is also a national security threat.

I am not OK

with the people who were born here voting to take away my liberty. Why this obsession with "illegal" aliens when it's mostly white, middle class native born American citizens voting to take away my liberty? Trying to control the population in such a way as to get a desired electoral outcome is what dictators do.

Replied to the wrong comment.

What's the point of asking

What's the point of asking how I would feel? Emotion is the wrong tool to use for such an analysis.

To answer your question, I don't want ANYONE to have the ability to take away my freedoms. I'm fine with anyone going wherever their heart desires, as long as they contract freely, and refrain from INITIATING violence, or threat thereof.

You see, my stance has nothing to do with the presence/absence of any kind of physical or political borders. It's universal. People should have the right to do ANYTHING other than initiate violent act or threats against the unwilling. ANYTHING!!! There is no obligation to society apart from this, IMO.
