Fifth-Grade Quiz on 9/11

Kara Sands of Corpus Christi, Texas, took issue with a sensitive question on a quiz given to her fifth-grade son entitled "Remembering September 11th" that asked why the United States may be a target for terrorist acts, KRISTV.com, the Washington Times, Fox News and other news outlets reported. The quiz was administered by a Flour Bluff Independent School and was not part of the CSCOPE curriculum.

When Sands saw the quiz with her son's correct answer, "Decisions we made in the United States have had negative effects on people elsewhere," she contacted the school's principal and the distributor of the video that the quiz was based on, Safari Montage.

Flour Bluff officials said Sands is the only parent to complain about the test. However, Sands took her beef one step further by posting the test on Facebook, and more than 1,600 people supported her concerns.

"I’m not going to justify radical terrorists by saying we did anything to deserve that; over 3,000 people died," Sands said.

They hate us for our FREEDOM ...

... so, let's abolish freedom. Then, they won't hate us anymore.

I see the long standing

I see the long standing American pity party continues. This is why 9/11 Truth is so vital.

Take heart, the truth will prevail

my 5th grade daughter came home from [charter] school about a month ago excited to show me how she had learned from another student how you can fold a $20 bill (that's 9 + 11! she told me excitedly) to show the burning Pentagon on one side and the burning towers on the other. Look, mom! She also showed me how it had the words "United" and "America" on there and those were the names of the two airlines that crashed! Oh, and watch this, mom! She then showed me how you can also fold a $20 bill to show the word "Osama."

I knew there would come a day when I would have discussions with my kids about it but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think they would have picked up on it at school first. :-)

"'When I teach my children

"'When I teach my children that you have to work hard and you have to earn a living and they go to school and learn something different I absolutely take issue with that,' Sands told KRISTV."

This lady is crazed. What the hell does working hard and earning a living have to do with America going around and bombing other countries to enrich itself?

Bombing is a lot of hard work

.. and it takes a lot of education and concentration.

Reasons and ethics are pure distraction from bombing productivity.

Keep your child's mind clear. We're the good guys. Bad guys are all bad and need to be bombed.

Work hard. Pay taxes. Have kids. Send to school.

Wash and repeat.

The article is tweaked

First half says Sands is upset that the test and her child are blaming America for the terrorist bombings. Evidently, she's a sheep who thinks they bombed us because we're free.

Second half says Sands is upset that food and medicine are listed as rights on a Bill Of Rights assignment. That's where the quote you cite came from. This sounds rational but disconnected from the lack of logic in the first issue.

Hmm. First time hung up and refresh didn't show it.. but it's there. Odd.

And this was posted on here

And this was posted on here right after it happened too. Interesting to see a follow up.
Also interesting to see that she teaches personal responsibility yet doesnt think the US should be to blame for going around the world and pissing people off. Talk about hypocrisy.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

She and you are both mistaken

Individuals do things. The "US" does nothing, ever, because society is an abstract concept.

Try rephrasing along the lines of "...yet doesn't think that Donald Rumsfeld and George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton and each of their fellow criminal conspirators should be to blame for..."
