FEMA interested in Open Source Mesh technology. (Byzantium)Submitted by conalmc on Thu, 03/28/2013 - 15:43
Byzantium, is an open source mesh network project. It was name dropped in one of the latest Corbett Reports. It has been touted as a possible solution to government's over step on our Internet freedoms. Well, after reading the latest news posted on their site as of March 21st, I am not as optimistic about the project being gov control free as I was prior.
Byazntium designers/developers, were invited to White House to discuss their technology with a FEMA think tank.
If the Gov or FEMA really cared for this projects development, they would probably give the Byzantium team more then 10k a year to develop it. They give way more money to far more meaningless projects, such as studying chimps on crystal meth....My guess is that they need to know how it works to shut it down or control it. I just hope the developers understand what is going on before they get hi-jacked. Unfortunately there are many in the IT/Development world that are statist "progressives" that don't understand the first thing about freedom outside their keyboards. So chances are they will probably willy nilly hand it over to obama and his thugs.
