Massachusetts 13-year-old suspended for bringing butter knife to school - VIDEO

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – From a toy gun to a butter knife, a new controversy has arisen over an item a student brought to a local school Wednesday.

Morgan LaPlaume, a Wamsutta Middle School student, was simply trying to cut her fruit for lunch because she has braces and can't take bites out of whole fruit, says the LaPlaume family.

During lunch, the vice principal happened to be walking by when he apparently saw Morgan with the butter knife, took her to his office, and issued her a suspension.

No Excuse

Inmates at correctional facilities are not allowed to have knives in their cells either. The mother and daughter should have known better. Frankly, I'm a bit perplexed though by the Principal's failure to place the child warehouse facility on lock-down and alert law enforcement. A complete failure by the police state IMO.

Any parent who is able by any means to keep their kid from the gulag known as the school system should do so. Anything less borders on negligence.
