Great Depression Cooking with Clara

Just ran across this cool lady sharing experiences and recipes from the great depression. She's 96.

All of the video's are on her YouTube page except a few which are held back for her DVD.

Sad indeed. She seemed like a great person. But I'm glad her grandson documented and shared some of her life with the rest of us.

I found her grandson's commentary very thoughtful and of course, sad.

Thanks for this post. I remember way back someone posted here about Clara and seems like there was a lot of interest from the DP...I hope those who enjoyed Clara get this news and get to see the video.

Ohhhh...sad news indeed.

Thanks for posting this SC...

I only watched a few of her videos, but I remember when this was first posted my roommate and I at the time looked for some of her other videos and made egg drop soup. It turned out pretty good.

No prob

I actually can't believe us "news-snaggers" missed this when it was uploaded back in November.

Thank you

I watched this and also the one where Clara makes egg drop soup. My own mother passed away recently at 93 and she made egg drop soup for us when we were little too. Thanks for leading me to a nice warm memory and lunch suggestion. Clara is cool!

Bump!

Great Find

I'll definitely check out some of her videos. My Grandpa used to make us what he called "depression burgers" when we were young, basically just onion burgers, but I still call them depression burgers. Thanks for the post.
