An Immune System and Thyroid Upside for Tobacco?

Posted on March 7, 2013 by Mary Shomon

LipsWho would have guessed that second-hand cigarette smoke could have a surprising health benefit? Or that tobacco, long dismissed as unhealthy, might have some healing benefits, even playing a role in a new dietary supplement? Medicine and health technology are full of surprises sometimes.

In 2004, Dr. Paul Ladenson, Director of the Division of Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins, conducted a study among a group of flight attendants and found reduction of thyroiditis/Hashimoto’s Disease related to inhalation of second hand cigarette smoke. That discovery started the ball rolling toward the development of a anti-inflammatory supplement called Anatabloc, the key ingredient of which is the anatabine compound, one of the 4,000 chemical components of tobacco. Anatabine is a naturally-occuring alkaloid also found in eggplants, peppers, green tomatoes, potatoes, and a variety of other plants in the Solanaceae (nightshade) family, including Nicotiana, the Latin term for tobacco.

The vast majority of tobacco

The vast majority of tobacco smokers don't ever get lung cancer. I'm not sure about emphysema though. I know my lungs don't feel so well after smoking. I don't smoke marijuanna anymore, but I remember that it felt even harsher on my lungs (probably has to do with the temperature of the smoke).

Nicotine is supposed to have some sort of protective effect against Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's. From my own personal experience, it seems to help my digestion.

This post made me think of that scene in 'Sleeper'

Doctor: He's ranting. We'd better tranquilize him.
Woody: I knew it was too good to be true. I parked right near the hospital.
Dcoctor: Here, you smoke this. An be sure you get the smoke deep down into your lungs.
Woody: I don't smoke.
Doctor: It's tobacco. It's one of the healthiest things for your body. Now go ahead.

Hell-of-a find, Bob-

I crave alkaloids like found in eggplants, peppers, green tomatoes, potatoes, and a variety of other plants in the Solanaceae (nightshade) family, including Nicotiana, the Latin term for tobacco.

I wonder if that's why I smoke Nicotiana(?) The kind without the added carcinogens?

The CorpGovt has created an industry that says smoking Nicotiana is bad for you, so I figure, it's probably not at all bad, if bad at all, and if moderated...

F***k the Corp/Govt and their paid "scientists"

Thanks, JohnPhillipSousa.

I smoke little cigars (like cigarettes, but with a tobacco wrapper instead of paper $10 a carton); however, even if I did not, I would still have posted this, as I try to post all the health truth, since the MSM is full of crap on virtually every health issue.

The explosion of cancer since the 40s has been due to pesticides, cigarette and food additives and fluoridation, plus, probably, vaccinations. That is my take, at least.

Hear Hear - Corp/Govt is so full of it!

Tobacco wrapped - sounds even better than paper!

I get my tobacco products - tubes - tobacco- from the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation - natural, uncontaminated like over-the-counter "cigarette" cr*p. For some mysterious reason, the corp/govt decided not to touch cigar tobacco!? Nor is it processed with carcinogens like cigarette tobacco, nor did Obama raise the taxes on cigar tobacco at all ....weird.

Given that our entire food chain is contaminated from bottom to top, with what you've listed above, not to mention harmones, dental mercury, and on and on, we're ALL F****.

So all of you out there concerned about second-hand smoke? Think again. Or at least, ask a smoker if they are smoking organic, LOL. Then ask yourself, what have I been eating/drinking my whole life? Is that second hand smoke really what's going to give me cancer, diabeties, heart disease? Not.

You don't want to inhale my cigar/cigarette smoke? Fine. I can easily respect that, no problemo.

But just don't give me the Corp/Govt line, particularly when both these sides are poisoning the hell out of you none-smokers through the entire food/water chain, not to mention, "health care".

Peace.

partially hydrogenated oils

partially hydrogenated oils fuel heart disease and all sorts of acid commercial foods fuel cancer.

Good Morning, Frankenstein! Rise and shine!

partially-hydrogenated oils.

Was that the beginning of Corp/Govt eugenics in good ol' US of A? Mass scale? I think so. All of a sudden, age old health, wisdom, common sense, was thrown out the window for Corp/Govt contrived science.
