On Sunday’s “Meet the Press” on NBC, junior Republican Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake said gun-control advocates are wrong to insist on universal background checks, primarily because of the bureaucratic nightmare they would create.

“Sure, I’ve actually introduced legislation with Sen. [Lindsay] Graham, Sen. [Mark] Begich and Sen. [Mark] Pryor, with regard to mental health issues,” Flake said. “We do need to strengthen the background check system. But universal background checks, I think, is a bridge too far for most of us.”

Caveat Emptor.

"WHAT THE BIG PRINT GIVETH...the small print shall taketh away".

Mental Health Issues.
Issues. Hmmm.

The big print will leave the impression of vetting the mentally retarded, clinically insane and psychotic from gun ownership. Now mind you, these folks do not have "issues", rather they have severe mental and psychological disorders and handicaps.

The small print will reveal the true targets. Anyone with "issues".
Veteran? I am. And yes, we have "issues".
Ever lose your temper? Anger management? You've got "issues".
Ever been depressed...and told your Doctor. Ooooops! "Issues".
Anxiety/Panic attacks? Got Valium? Yes? Then you have "issues".
Add to that, Paxil, Zoloft, Zanax and the like..."issues".
LGBT? If you're B or T that is an identity crisis...i.e., "Issues".
Just about everyone and anybody can and will be diagnosed as having had or having..."issues".
Can and Will.

These plans to protect us from ourselves are deception.
There is a great difference between "Severe Mental Disorders" and "Mental Health Issues".
Or simply disorders v. Issues.
Words are important. Do not be fooled.

Of course, the reality is that these proposed bills have absolutely nothing to do with either of the above.
They are about decimating the Constitution. Taking our guns first.

Legislation created by fools will certainly be supported by the foolish.
