Not an april fools joke anymore

.

Tools of war are not always obvious. The worst weapon is an idea planted in the mind of man. Prejudices can kill, suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has an everlasting fallout all of its own.

If I were a hoper

Wishing does not make it so. But if I were to hope, I would hope it was a hacker who pulled the prank, not the owners. In any case, the website is back up.

I really hope this is an April Fools Joke. This will be a wakeup call to a lot of people to download those files. If it is not an April fools, then damn. Smart on their part, if it is just a joke.

OOPS - Scheduled maintenance mistaken for government shutdown?

I don't like to spread baseless rumors, but I just read that the shutdown was actually a planned maintenance takedown of the websites which others had forgotten about. Combined with the paranoia resulting from their recent approval as gun manufacturers by the ATF and the simple fact of being up at 12:08 am, way beyond everyone's bedtime.

Another cowardly unnamed source mentioned the launch of www.defcad.com which signifies a commercial business rather than a .org charitable enterprise, beholden to all of the 501c loopholes and strangleholds, including the loss of the ability to endorse a political view or candidate. The celebration of this newfound freedom is now believed to be the reason why everyone was still up at 12:08 am.

More foolishness

The text of the message reads like a poor attempt to sound official.

Check the date people.

It's april fools.

didn't Cody mention to Alex Jones that DD just received

their firearms manufacturer's license, like 3 or 4 weeks ago?

Whois

Whois says the domain name is still registered to Cody Wilson. It looks to me as though his website has been hacked, and not by "public servants."

I am comparing

I am comparing a real take-down notice with the one in question - just eye-balling them. The fonts are distinctly different.

Lol, I like the colorful

Lol, I like the colorful "Seized" wallpaper. I'm sure that's what the DOJ would use.

But it is...

Sadly it is exactly that.

That is it exactly

I have seen them before. Here is one that's cached on Wikipedia.

Of course that does not mean someone could not have taken a real takedown notice and edited it.

It's probably fake. It's

It's probably fake.

It's April 1st guys. The picture meta data says that it was edited with photoshop 7.0 on April 1st @ 12:08am.

Solid evidence

What government "worker" is on the job at 12:08 in the morning?

I Second That

Looks like a clone of the typical streaming site one slightly modified.
Also the official government one has NO exif data at all.

Yeah, I'm going with... APRIL

Yeah, I'm going with...

The government is so damn

The government is so damn insecure. If she was my girlfriend I'd dump her...

HELL O?

Maybe the feds just missed that one

All the other variants, like defcad.com (without the www) show the takedown notice.

I am probably the most skeptical guy on DP, but I will not be the least bit surprised if this turns out to be real.

Taking down the website does

Taking down the website does nothing for them, the information is already out.

The point of this raid was to inspire fear in any who would follow suit.

Notice the charges on the website.

"Conspiracy to commit ...."

Today such charges often replace real chargers for actual actions. The problem is that it is almost impossible to defend yourself against "conspiracy" since it is not an act, just a potential.

We have more evidence to charge US government for conspiracy to institute fascism and violate the constitution.

It's called "Thought Crime"

which is why

FIJA.org is so important.

make their courts irrelevant.
i don't know of a single more important advocacy group.

I can.

Juries can nullify a single case and set a clear precedent on an issue. Sheriffs can nullify an entire body of statutory code which isn't supposed to be getting used on people in the first place. The statutes are for PUBLIC SERVANTS. The constitution is rules for government. There's no rules for people. The government then can create additional rules for it's employees. That's what statutes are.

We give millions to congressional politicians, over $70 million in the last 8 years. Congress is not supposed to have ANY EFFECT on your life whatsoever. Their job is to protect rights and enforce contracts at the request of one of the parties. With less that ONE million we could easily get a constitutional sheriff elected.

It could likely be done with less than 100K or with no cash at all - just a ton of activists making sure every door in that county receives a knock.

With a sheriff strictly staying within the bounds of the constitution, the county's economy would EXPLODE and the surrounding counties/states would need to get their own constitutional Sheriff's or they would soon turn into ghost towns as everyone moved out of them for the free county.

"i don't know of a single

"i don't know of a single more important advocacy group."

juries don't set precedent, do they? i though judges do. anyhow, they just have the power to render an over-zealous prosecutor impotent.

i agree with most of what you said. i just don't see how it pertains to my point.

as for sheriffs, there's got to be some reason why they aren't fully using the power of their position. there's leverage somewhere stopping them from kicking out the EPA for instance. likely in the form of political pressure elsewhere. which is easy to do as every state has funding coming to it from the feds. otherwise, they'd be doing it left and right.

so in the immediate sense, jury nullification is the first step because it can be done RIGHT THIS SECOND, imo. finding a constitutional sheriff with the balls to throw it all to the wind will take more work and frankly take MUCH more effort.

both still important.

Thanks!

I did not know about this. Will look into it.
