Percent of Americans Believing in the Resurrection Drops To 64% From 77% Last Easter

Still way too many people believe someone can be buried for 3 days and come back to life...but at least more people are coming to their senses.

A study released by the Rasmussen Reports polling firm on Good Friday found that 64% of Americans believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

While Americans who believe in the resurrection remain in the majority, that number is down significantly when compared to a Rasmussen Poll that asked the same question, released a year ago.

On April 7th, 2012 Rasmussen released a poll finding that 77% of Americans believed the resurrection of Christ to be historical fact.

The difference between the two polls shows a 13 percentage point drop in the number of Americans who believe that Christ rose from the dead, since last Easter.

Additionally, this year's poll found that 19% of Americans reject the central tenant of the Christian faith and do not believe that Christ was resurrected. That's compared to only 7% who said they didn't believe that Christ rose from the dead a year ago. A staggering 12 percentage point jump.

Yeah, but due to the fact that the witnesses are not available, and the unnatural nature of the situation...its not a matter of American Jurisprudence, its a matter of American Opinion. The matter wouldn't even be heard in American Judiciary. Not today, and not 230 years ago. It would be a violation of American Jurisprudence, namely the First Amendment.

Due to it being a matter of opinion, and not law, some may would hold that these men had a very real motive for lying about the event. And without the story of a small handful of men, it didn't even happen.

The point though was simply that if the standards of American Jurisprudence were applied to the Biblical witness there is no legal grounds to reject the witness.

NOT believing that a man can be buried for 3 days and then magically come back to life. That I DO NOT believe that a virgin can get pregnant, have a baby, and remain a virgin. Just like the truth about 9/11, The Federal Reserve, and all the other things many of us once thought were "real" and accepted as true for most of our lives, the TRUTH about the orgins of religion (and government) are available in the public domain via the internet. People that continue to believe the nonsense put forward by orgainized religion are holding on to a fantasy because its too uncomfortable for them to accept the TRUTH and the fact that they have been duped for so long.

Posts like the one the OP created are just ridiculous. They are meant to single out a group and divide. I don't post much on the DP, but I read every day. This recent religious war on here is immature and goes against what we're all supposed to be talking about. It's becoming a HUGE annoyance.

As I said before, if Jesus were honest

and told his students he would not be back for 2,000 years, the latter would have switched to another rabbi. Trinity was invented by the church 200 years after Jesus.

I do not blame Jesus, though. Most people are not honest either and do not admit the obvious. In the end, they do not trust their rational mind which they use less than emotions, beliefs, beer and idle talk. And since liberty and individual rights come from REASON, now you have it.

First of all, The Bible was written by men.....it didn't just fall out of the sky.

Moveover, The Bible was edited and marketed by The (evil) Roman Empire -- as they sought to Institutionalize the narrow concept of State Religion (i.e., thought control) for the purpose of dominating and controlling the people (making them submissive to Authority). They suceeeded.

The Bible was then spread throughout the World, first through the Roman Empire, and then later through the (successor) British Imperialist Empire, and also the Spanish Empire. Get it? And, of course, similarly ... The American Empire.

Thus, The Bible has been the tool of Empires....and not some devine, pure, grassroots, spiritual inspiration.

Of course, the so-called "resurrection" was just a story made up, to provide a way of suspending critical thinking, a false rationalization for torture, and making people think that life was immortal. It is not.

The only thing that is left behind, is the deeds that have been done and nothing else. In this way, Martin L. King, and Ghandi are real world examples of Christ-like figures in History who acheived a certain immortality. But the same could also be said for John Lennon, or Hugo Chavez (who reduced poverty in his Country by one-half, and defeated the pretatory Oil Monopolies), or anyone else who leaves behind a roadmap to improve the conditions of mankind.

But clearly, The Bible is just a tool of repression -- as it is made for us to think that only a superhuman Jesus could ever really accomplish anything to really liberate mankind from its suffering or poverty or injustice. Only a "miracle worker" could do that.

But the truth is that the real power lies from within (and not above), and if only we could all stand together (the people in mass) -- we could then finally defeat The Banks, defeat The Empire (globalists), defeat The Corporations, defeat the Oppressors, and also finally take care of one another (yes....a social safety net), and then our World would finally be a better place -- with more equity and more love.

The Empire adopted Christianity because Emperor Constantine had a vision of Christ and the Cross before going into battle and was told in the vision what to do to win and he did. After that battle he turned Christian and made the Empire adopt it. It was not about mind control but about sharing the truth with everyone which he experienced.

1.If it was false either the Jews or the Romans could have produced a body showing he never rose from the dead. That of course never happened.
2. The Idea that life is immortal preceded the Resurrection by centuries, even Socrates knew the soul was immortal.
